- In today's video, I will be getting you all up to date with the latest in AR and VR news! First of all, we will begin with what could be a glimpse at the new Meta Quest UI. People have started getting access to the Layout app, and its UI looks very polished and might just be the style that the new interface will be in. After this, we will move on to a new feature that Meta added to the Quest in v64 however did not document it for some reason. This is the ability to scan objects in your room and automatically label them. Greatly simplifying the room scanning process. I also have a humble bundle for you guys with a ton of brilliant VR games at a very cheap price. We will also talk about the CZcams VR player's new 8K update, as well as the new Among Us VR Infection event update, adding even more to the game. As well as all this I also have some really cool media players for Quest to show you guys and finally, Into The Radius 2 VR is coming in the Summer! I hope you enjoy this video :D

Have you seen the new beat saber modded version with the graphicstweaks mod, it puts real time pcvr graphics on quest standalone.
Is the V64 PTC cahnnel usb microphone. Wireless and wired or just wired. I just bought a wireless USB C microphone. For my channel. (I absolutely despise the quest 2 mic)

One note on the Humble Bundle - the Arizona Sunshine II is a 45% not the full game. Still a good discount but just wanted to flag it.

It seems like tactical placement because it's a fairly new game, and most people prob. Want noticd until it's too late, which is prob. Intended goal 👌
Even though the bundle holds value the 45% off the game instead of the game itself makes it look like an absolute steal, however, in reality it's not.
Again, I agree that the bundle has good value 👌
So as long as there's no way to buy the last 55% of the game for 55% of the full price (if there is, this comment is obsolete), what's in the bundle is basically just an extended demo. Who would play 45% of a game? You either play all of it, at least the main quest, or you don't like it and play more like 10% but not 45%. So when you reached 45% you will definitely buy the full game. When you still have to pay the full price, at least from a financial standpoint, the game was not in the bundle for you at all.

I got my update yesterday and it has a interesting feature that no one has talked about and that's the ability to have your friends in your Mixed Reality environment so like if we was on the same game or on a call once you exit the app it gives you a option to go to your home or your friends home and can be in pass though so your friends avatar will be in your pass through environment and the pass through is very much improved and works much better in low light situations and has little to no wobble when I tried putting my hands right infront of the headset usually it wobbles but it doesn't now with this update
So, while looking at the Humble Bundle it said that it ends on 4/20. By the time I decided to buy after a few minutes of looking at the games, the bundle was over on 4/19 where I live. Most of the time when some business says something is on sale to April 20th, that includes the day of the 20th and doesn't end at midnight on the 19th. I noticed that this is a Ziff Davis Company, they should know this already.
Headset shows V64 as the most recent update. The passthrough quality upgrade isn't the game changer people were making it out to be. It still looks fuzzy to me when looking around the room. Quality does seem improved when holding objects like a phone near the headset. Some funny warping though if the phone is not directly in front of you. I didn't see any automatic tagging of objects when I tried a room scan. Maybe I'm not doing it correctly.
Wish the quest store offered more games for cheaper. I really want the forest and hit man vr.

for v64 - i had to turn on getting ptu updates and i got the download with all new updates - try turn it off and back on - might work
Every time I was waiting on a new release, I simply reset my headset and it automatically updated to current version. I'm not saying it will work for everyone but it's worth a try it worked for me just now on the version 64. The lying down feature is incredible.
Would be great if you said if something is for Q2 or Q3 exclusive. Guessing scanning a room is only Q3?

There’s more than one version of v64 PTC. The version I have now, in Experimental, I have scroll down to an off screen option in the menu list, before I can enable Laying down mode. I’m using a Q3.

Real quick note on ITR 2, its 2 player co op and not 4 player. Wanna preface that they said that on the dev blog so you and your friends aren't disappointed that you cant join your friend group in ITR2.
They did mention that they are possibly thinking of 4 player however, but the aren't sure about how balancing is going to be.
You DON'T get Arizona sunshine 2... you get A discount on it when you buy it for an extra £30
The back-lighting I imagine is while in pass-through. If the room is dark, the pass-through will be very noisy. I can't imagine the noise and the ambient lighting being something pleasant.

I’m assuming that the undocumented object scanning means that the SceneScript feature that they were developing at Reality Labs is being tested out in the wild. I’m surprised that it was incorporated into the platform this quickly.
Space settup is ok but not great at handling the slanted ceilings.
I just got V64, and there is no support for background audio for 2D apps. You can get some things to sort of work, but the sound gets garbled. Hopefully they will support it soon, because I use it on my Quest Pro all the time.
V64 made my space setup kinda broken... Numerous glitches..where I click to continue during the setup and it just takes me out of setup and had to start over a couple times ...the scanning seems slow and the floor level seem high and cannot adjust it ....
The bundle doesn't include meta quest versions right ? Only Steam, correct ?
The new UI might have something to do with why Meta gave the finger to Android XR. I doubt Google would allow the kind of UI Meta has planned, and even if they do, maybe Meta wants to have creative control. As a former Google superfan, it pains me to say that I'm glad to see Meta ignoring Android XR. Them staying away from Google tells me that the product managers behind Quest are smarter than many, and gives me a bit more hope for the future of the platform (if nothing else, we don't want the Quest and Oculus stores to close since many people have spent a lot of money there in a relatively short amount of time).
8k is like the minimum for VR honestly. Even though the resolution isn't that high in the Quest, it makes a huge difference. 4k in VR isn't the same as 4k on a flat screen outside of VR. It's actually kind of terrible in VR
8k would look incredible if the panel were up to spec on a Quest, but Compression artifacts are the real issue and this update helped a fair amount.
Where is the direct link to App lab for video players?
Strange cos yeah I think I got the update but not all the features yet. Cos some of the scan stuff works. I can add furniture like tables and couches. But can’t add doors or TV this looks great! Cos yeah. There are some mixed reality games that I’d love to play but can’t cos of the room mapping being wrong like doors and stuff
Hey! I've been following you since the original Oculus Quest (1) days. Recently a question popped up into my mind and I feel there is no one better to ask than you. Should I upgrade from my Oculus Quest to something else? I don't need the standalone feature at all. I actually prefer PCVR over standalone any day of the week. However I am trying to decide if I get a Quest 3 or some other premium PCVR headset such as an index. All I need pretty much is a decent option that works well with PCVR. I am not bothered by cables and currently my Quest has the cable taped to it so I can play with Oculus Link lol. I've been having tons of issues with my Quest though, specifically issues with tracking and general stability. I mostly just need a headset I can push to the limits, and currently my Quest has been starting to fail me.
Oddly enough if you get the v64 update and you don't see the experimental features like laying down mode, etc.. Make sure you reset all experimental features to default and then you should see the new v64 experimental options.
I don't need 8K for CZcams, I need them to add passthrough AGAIN. I have their app installed but I don't use it at all because I can only use passthrough when I watch CZcams in the browser. And I just learned hat the feature was already in the app and they removed it. Why on Earth would you do that?

I got v64 and it appears to be actually more grainy - which would make sense since you're lightening the darks with more dynamic range.
I have to say I have no idea why you don't have v64 yet. I got my Quest 3 less than a month ago, and pretty soon after enabled the PTB thingy because I like messing around, and I got v64 almost a week later. I don't have all the new features yet though, I seem to be getting them 1-3 days after your videos.
I’m trying to play Quest 2 but it’s not working. I tried VR chat and Rec Room but I can’t get past login. The digital store doesn’t seem to work and the Phone app doesn’t seem to work. The web browser seems like the only thing working. Is this because of the update ? If so that is unfortunate because I really do need to get on VR chat for my personal reasons

Thats because most of the app only get the walls, but no furniture from the scan. Even the demo app meta made is only using the walls if you are not setting furnitures by hand
So, if it’s cheaper on Humble, then there must be something that fills the gap. What are we paying instead of that price?

Why has nobody addressed the issue that thousands of Q3 owners were hoping this update would fix? Namely, the water/debris error message bug.
I don't know how viable it would be, but I think it would be great for immersive content if they did the color matching LEDs INSIDE the headset. Why inside the headset? to help hide low FOV. Instead of seeing black in your peripherals, you will have matching color to what's on the edges of the displays.
I actually think I've seen a DIY projects somewhere on the internet about exactly this. I'm fairly sure it was open source too. Maybe that's something we could try 🤔

I got v64 immediately here in Northern Ireland, I wonder does the age of your account matter? I've had an account with Oculus/ Meta since the OG Rift so I wonder if being an early adopter helps with updates or maybe its random, who knows..

just fyi for you personally: i used the same files from the website you showed (the "trade"-site) for upgrading and it worked, i'm on v64 now and passthough changed (got more like a yellow tint now), also i got laying down mode and the other experimental stuff.
Must in that case be Meta rollouts for me then. I'll try flash again and will see what happens :) Thanks!
That "yellow tint" is honestly great from my perspective. Color matching to the world outside the headset before this update I always had to have night display on a little bit to be more true to life. This is a genuine fix for a problem I had and I'm so excited they paid attention to it!

You do know you’re not actually seeing it in 8k right? Only up to the limit the device allows.
Still fixes the heavy compression artifacting. CZcams VR 180/360 videos on quest used to cap out at like 360p-480p, which killed the entire point of trying to watch them. The 8k enabled stuff is beautiful, even with its slight compression

already bought the bundle and the drift ,rally car ones a bargain. I buy all there bundles just bought the train sim one today. had the game but those addons are expensive to buy. VR youtube needed 8k support cuz it helps with the blur a bit. Only improvements that could help even more are HDR and uncompressed video.
Unfortunately the 8k don’t work with all videos shot in 8k. Just check the latest AirPano video for example (or Las Vegas, San Francisco). They are still 4k only although they are obviously shot in 8k and can be seen in 8k when you use CZcams inside Meta Browser. I hope they will also fix that for all videos since 8k in 360 degrees looks awesome.
I dont believe any HDR capable standalone headsets exist to utilize it so it's fine not to prioritize its development
@@mica4977but it works fine with those videos when you watch them via Meta Browser. And they look sharper there when you put 8k. I don’t understand why CZcams disallows that within their own app.
