    Pakistani foreign policy expert Uzair Younus lauded India’s digital development saying that his first-hand experience of the expanding digital footprint in India during a recent visit to the country made him feel like he was visiting a state from the future. The Pakistani foreign policy expert expressed how impressed he was when he saw a cobbler in Mumbai offering a QR code scanner to his customers to enable digital payment. He said, "A paan shop owner also had a QR code scanner. Cash was not needed at all." Younus asserted that he watched in awe as people had kachoris at eateries and seem to leave just like that. He said he was first wondering why the customers are leaving without paying for their meals, it him later that they had done so digitally.
    “I was wondering why the shopkeeper was allowing his customers to leave without paying for their meals. Then I saw that there was a PayTm QR code and the customers were simply scanning the code to make the payments,” he added.

If we as a society, are strong enough to not get deluded by hate politics, the problem is solved.Let the locals goons keep barking. Trust me guys. Modi‘s cabinet is insane at a time. When entire world is divided, India’s diplomacy has managed to retain alliance of two major countries. Nitin Gadkari’s Road, brdge, tunnel infrastructure. It is actually true. So much of digitisation has happened in India, thanks to Modi govt. (credit where it’s due). Coming back to India from a ‘technological advanced’ country Japan, it has been a huge shift..like how he mentioned even small peddlers & vegetable stalls & shopkeepers have online payment options. It’s not just cities but even in small villages (I know this as I traveled to my Parent’s hometown). This is shockingly brilliant..I’ve seen people paying even 10₹online..truly cashless! Even though Japan is called technologically advanced,online transactions are very less..people still prefer cash which is very annoying. Even in USA when I travelled recently, UPI transactions is not prevalent. Cash is widely used.
    People In India should realise what insane shift digitisation has done/doing. Kudos to that!!!

If demand for US dollars decreases relative to the Indian rupee, or if the supply of rupees increases relative to the supply of dollars, the exchange rate may shift in favor of the rupee, making the dollar weaker against the rupee. Well articulated. Aadhar was initiated in 2008, then UPI then bank account proliferation. Successive govts worked on this. Since Pakistan already has a unique national ID, you can also roll this out, political undeterred will is the only requirement. BTW the UPI infrastructure costs heavy which today banks are bearing the cost.

    • @WhatDoesThisDataSay
      @WhatDoesThisDataSay Před rokem +4

      @Prakash kumar UPI currently is free of cost and the government intends to keep it that way; atleast for the next few years. It's a political decision. NCPI is funded by a consortium of bank including RBI. No, banks don't make any money on UPI at present. It's a cost to them.

      Banks are benefiting the same way they benefit from installing ATM machines..They have to recruit a lesser workforce to handle the humongous amount of transactions that happen so easily with UPI. It grows economy overall by making transactions fast and easy, it curbs black money by leaving trail of transactions and it saves Banks cost of opening branches and recruiting cashiers and/or operating new ATM machines. So the banks may be willing to bear the cost of UPI. And in my opinion, if they decide to charge for UPI, they might be profiteering.
