I have been watching this series, and quite a few episodes, and the more I watch the more I think it is a silly show. The DI has issues, and just a posh boy to be given the job, and gets rather irritating after a while. The others in his team, are not so good either, and it seems rather PC riddled too. The different stories which involve some Jack the Ripper expert, are always looking back at crimes committed many years ago for hints of what happened to make sense of the current similar crimes of murder. Each episode gets sillier as it goes along, with weird characters, and the latest one is some MI5/MI6 bird dolled up in a red dress, painted face and wearing high heels, which looks plain stupid to me. To me it is so bad that I have to keep watching for the laughs, as it is like an irritating itch that I have to keep scratching. There is also a lot of heavy handed 'suspense' music all the time, when sometimes it is not really needed, and brief clips of not a lot with loud music, for to me not any reason either, so eventually gave up on this series.......I believe it got cancelled after a while, and I am not surprised. Made by the BBC I think, so that explains a lot. Of course, there is bound to be some who love it, but not me.....:)
