Not sure where this came from, but I have been a student of comedy for over a half century. Seldom, if ever, have I seen such tight, nearly perfect, right on, rapid fire, comedic timing in one sketch in my life. Talented group here. Its sooo rare when EVERYBODY'S timing is spot on.

I loved all episodes but more when it was my mums era then mine.sorry but midewifes didn't clock on and off in New days.they helped settle my kids made me something to eat.beautiful time to give birth

I didn't really expect much when I started watching this BUT I have fallen in love. It is SO well written.
It is now 2021 and I still have to watch this every time it pops up. I love it so much and makes me want a lifetime of "Call The Midwife."

I’ll never ever get over losing Jenny...she’s why I started the show.
Yes the original ones were the best: Jenny, Chummy and Trixie. Never cared much for Cynthia though haha.
I actually didn’t respond much to her departure but Sister Evangeline? That hurt.
And Chummy too but yeah Sister Evangeline broke my heart a little bit.
Chummy hurts even more because she was supposed to come back, but it never happened. They have successfully wound new ppl into the show over the years though

The sad thing is how it works (in hospitals) now. I gave birth and can't remember much about my midwife, she had a mask and hair cover, I never saw her face (or just a few second in the dark and forgot about it cause I was so tired) and she never said her name; She was only here for the delivery, I had never seen her before and never saw her again after, not even the same day. She was just a vague figure of a human in weird blue clothes that gave me instruction for a few hours then was replaced by an other one because her shift ended. After that night I never so the 2 of them again and had other nurses to help, so many that I couldn't have any proper talk with them. That's a totaly anonymous and cold experience. Especially because I couldn't have done the birth preparation. Then after 2 days I left hospital and then I was left alone at home: no visit, no advices, no friends arounds like in the series. I just googled things to have answears. I wish home birth and community was more a thing again
