I miss denny....i got my pair of budgies after watching your Denny.....of which i lost male budgie recently so got new budgie couple of weeks back...he is still baby of 2 months.. will he get adjusted with my 1 year old female?

My budgie is beginning to shed his baby feathers, I've had him a month so we are still working on bonding, hes very tame. He loves to be on on my neck an shoulders whenever I'm home, but rubbing his feathers would prove a little difficult, I've been tryin to introduce bath times but hes not all that taken with them. Any tips would be greatly appreciated, I'm a 1st time budgie mum

Molting season!! Yay... X) One of my budgies is usually a sweet heart: very gentle, very nice, super patient, but we know when he's molting because it's pretty much the only time he becomes cranky and (slightly) more aggressive, not to harm anyone, no huge bites, just angry squawking and getting on his girlfriend's nerves for no reasons. My other budgie, though, is the opposite: usually very territorial, will want her personal space and, when molting, is calmer and becomes suddenly more affectionate to win head scritches from her boyfriend. XD (and will proceed to snap if he happens to touch pin feathers even though he's very careful lol!) They give quite a show! My tiel, on the other hand, would just be more quiet than usual. I find this a bit tricky to figure out whether it's molting time or if they're sick until you see a carpet of feathers at the bottom of the cage everyday XD

My budgies were clipped 😔. And they are molting, so I hope the feathers will grow in soon. I can kinda see a little bit of a few pin feathers. But what tipped me off, is the tons of feathers more than usual. They takes baths about daily and preen each other more. But their personalities never changed, and I am so glad. Lemon is an exited crazy bird!
Easy to pickup when budgie feathers blow around- just keep your mini vacuum cleaner filter emptied and use it every day.
My budgies Tiko, Blueberry and Snowflake were molting. I didn’t know that they had mood swings and they molt after their baby life. Thanks for the tips!

Three things that has helped a lot for my budgies during their molting. 1. Fruits, veggies diet with their seeds food (Basically 60 percent seeds and 20/20 different fruits and veggies everyday or 3 times a week). 2. Bath every second day and 3. Clean cage (I clean their cage twice a day in the morning and before they go to sleep at night).
Hi denny, can you please help me i am a big fan and my budgie lost 4-5 feathers and now isnt able to fly high she hates me and goes up on the fan but now she stays on the ground she tryies to fly but she fells back on the ground does she have french molt she is 2-3 month old.
When I hear that the feathers were gonna sprout I just realized that my budgie has these “sharp thingys” and I was like weird turns out he was just molting 😅

Hii! Do they have to break a blood feather during molt, do they have to have pin feathers? My bird feathers falling but I don't see any pin feathers, he isn't plucking, he doesn't have bald spots as well, is it normal for them not to break blood feathers or don't have pin feathers?

I remember having to run my little bud’s head whenever he molted. Sometimes he would get nippy if I touched certain ones not like mean but more him saying “no don’t do that” I use to get scared that I was hurting him especially since I would find blood feathers at times. Very rarely though. He mostly got blood feathers when he was older. I just hope it didn’t hurt him.
Just found out my budgie 3 months old.. a couple days ago I saw stuff sticking out his feathers. Looked it up and found out it was molting. I have trypophobia and just the way molting looks makes me uncomfortable and feel sick to my stomach looking at it... however I really love my parakeet(my first ever pet) and I couldn’t get rid of him or neglect him because of that. All I know is these are gonna be very tough weeks for me.. I should get help it really irritated the hell out of me.

pin feathers are everywhere near their cere and looks red under them. The pin feathers have extra wax on them.
my female budgie doesn't groom them and my make budgie has a bald spot...

If you can't find sprouting seeds pellets or nutri berries for budgies are a great option

Is it normal for a Budgie to be missing feathers around their cere like in the thumbnail? My Budgie almost looks like that not so many missing but bald patch around the cere.

My 4 months parrot is going through this molting stages .. I'm not sure whether it is male of female because it will take 2 years to know the gender of a rose-ringed parrot .. But my parrot often get exhausted and sleepy in this molting process .. Sometimes it become aggressive and keep making weird sounds .. What food can boost it's energy and what to do to make it feel more comfortable ?
Sprouted seeds are great! Apple cider vinegar is a wonderful antibiotic and immune boost and I usually spray a little onto the soaked seed or a piece of fruit. Just give some space, food and toys to your bird. music is great for making him feel comfortable (try to play baby lullabies) 😄

It's a bloddy pin feather, give your bird a bath, cucumber and sprouts
