I'm genuinely excited about the new thermal tarp; I have high expectations for its ability to efficiently reduce heat loss and shield my hot tub from the harsh winter elements. I believe it's going to be a game-changer in maintaining a perfect hot tub experience even during the coldest winter days.
**also I plan on adding a separation between tub bottom and 2” foam, possibly a blue shipping blanket or something else I’m not sure yet. I’ve found it sticks to the tub base when I have to roll the tub on its side to spray it out.

My husband bought a Coleman Saluspa for me for Christmas and I love it. We live in Ohio and this has been a very cold month single digits no sunshine. This being the first month that I have used my hot tub, I do not know what my electric bill will be, but I do know that I needed to insulate it better. I put 1 inch insulation board underneath it because that is what I had in the garage. This also helped because my hot tub sits on the ground and it was very lumpy, and had some pebbles under it which would’ve pushed through so this also gave it stability, insulation and comfort. I then put the rest of the insulation board in a box like shape around the pump unit. To hold it on their ( duct tape did not work well) so I purchased from Teemu for eight dollars a rain resistant smoker grill cover that is like a large square that fit over it very nicely, and I cut a hole in the top so that the unit controls will still be exposed for my use. I will send a picture. I would like to know where you purchased your thermal blanket cover. I have not been happy with the snaps on the top of the cover that came with the unit. They are very hard for me to click open and shut. It would be great to have a cover over top of the cover that they sent so that I would not have to snap it in place, but they would be held in place by the thermal blanket cover. I loved this video. Thank you for watching I'm glad you found this video to informative. I purchased the Thermal Blanket on amazon amzn.to/3RSArB5, It was a little more than id hoped to pay but i couldn't find one large enough for cheaper. I also like this style thermal cover but wasn't sure it would fit our tub amzn.to/3OkXOly. There is a surprising amount of products available to add some insulation to your tub. I really am glad we put the foam board under the tub as well not only for the insulation but like you said the comfort and protection of tub bottom. The buckles for the lid can be a pain to undo them all and removing the lid can be more awkward then a standard hot tub. I think they make the buckles harder to prevent children from easily being able to open the lid without an adult (for that reason i appreciate them). Any ways thanks again and enjoy the Hot tub.

Good ideas but mean nothing without data, get a power metre and do a comparison before and after on how many kW/h the hot tub is using per day. Mine draws 17 kw/h per day in winter with no extra covers just a 2" slab below it

good point it would be worth figuring out how much savings is really being had by extra insulation. What is your average winter outside air temp?

@@michigantreetops probably like 10 degrees Celcius but at on the last 5 days its been more like 4 or 5 and I use 17 kW/h per day.
