hi cooler steven
😂😂😂😂😂😂
teach me your secret? I've never seen such an amazing makeover before. you look so incredible these days
His Irish accent came out so strongly for a bit right after he talked about arriving in Shannon airport lmao
So true
he even said Shannon Airport with an accent.
Honestly I didnt even realise he lived in Ireland until I saw this video and then I couldn't unhear it.
Well maybe cause he's half Irish. His dad is proper Irish. Steven's actual surname is O'Byrne.
@@KevinN007 Oh, I know... I had just never heard that accent from him so strongly lol
this is actually one of the coolest ways to make an interview so casual and relaxing to watch, its like you guys are just hanging out asking questions LMAO
Never really seen Steven outside of the meme. Super healthy perspective, genuine ability to connect with others as well. No doubt he continues to be able to be successful creatively.
lol same! So nice to seem him in a different way
He is awesome IMHO.
Yeah, such a friendly man! Wish I could meet him.
The other way around feels preatty weired XD
I watched everything from him, didn´t pay attetntion to the "emotional damage episode" and out of nowhere my friends and everyone else knows him.
10/10 no regrets
Hes a beast
I'm glad they didn't make us wait for the "Emotional Damage" 😂
Lmfaoo same! Best mashup I didn’t know I needed ❤
True that haha
That would have been a lesson in Emotional Damage. Free ideas for @stevenhe right there
I love the raw excitement Steven has for food
Me too. Idk who Steven He is but I was like Steven hmm… They mean Steven Lim? Right? Lol 🤣
Same! He has such a great personality
@@thatgirl9532 if you watch Uncle Roger's videos, he uses the "Emotional damage" meme in a lot of his reaction videos

The moment you pointed out he has a soft Irish accent completely blew my mind, every word with and "or" sound like Ireland or airport he pronounces "ur" with an Irish accent!
It reminds me of a Japanese friend I had who learned English in Australia and had the weirdest accent you've ever heard
A friend taught American English to students in Poland. The teacher before her was from Tennessee. The students were confused by the word chair because they had learned it as "chay-yur."
My sister got her degree in Spanish but primarily learned the language from a professor from China who spoke no English, so apparently she has a slight Chinese accent to her Spanish 😂
Wait till you meet kids from international schools
Its a whole blend of accents
Knowing he's lived in Ireland is so interesting - the way he said 'airport' was PURE IRISH
Absolutely, the way he closed off his mouth and dipped his tongue back and made it breathy. Crazy how the linguistic influence sticks with you.

Steven is a beacon of positive energy
Agreed in emotional damage
I read "bacon of positive energy" and was full on with it 🤣
mmmhhh, bacon... *salivates*
@@leavoda3791 Same🤣
Dyslexia told me "its bacon bro" and now i want bacon.
"And the yolk is blue. It's kinda normal, right?" --said Steven He, the one guy bringing the Jolly team to the restaurant.
I died the moment he said that 🤣
It could be from the tea, but I think it's a known measure of the egg being boiled too long. The sulfur (?) in the yolk starts to gather around the edges and turns green. I think the English generally soft-boil their eggs, so they probably don't see that very often.
@@sarahcoleman5269 yep you are most definitely right. it’s definitely overcooked eggs. Tea eggs are often left to cook in the herb tea broth, and left it in for hours for the flavour to seep into the egg. So they are most often overcooked, hence turning the egg yolks greyish blue. But that’s normal. But nothing to do with tea, just overcooked hard boil eggs.
@@reeeyou which is why soft cooked shoyu tamagos are 1000x better
@@Fisumestari mmm, i like both. I dont think one is superior to another. I grew up eating both, and they are both equally delicious to me.
@@sarahcoleman5269 yep true. It's very common in Asian countries to soak eggs in water filled with herbs for hours or even days depending on the recipe. Also boiled eggs are often eaten like snacks, so overcooking the eggs help get them firmer to be eaten wherever, and last longer if we don't want to eat them right away.
Steven He seems like an actually cool down to earth guy. I love how he actually cares about his fans.
A shout out of respect to the fans who showed their love for their creator in a polite nonintrusive way. Thanks for a good showing of manners in a world sorely lacking them.
As a New Yorker born and raised, when you are in Manhattan, you run across a lot of famous people and it is no longer a “thing”. They were also filming and we tend to respect that also.
@@debneg23not my experience and plus two were European and that is why they were quite brief and respectful!
I’m one of those who’s never seen Steven He but has heard of “Emotional Damage”! My lower grade students kept saying it in class, but I had no idea where it came from and they couldn’t tell me either… 😂 Glad to finally know it’s from Steven He! His regard for people and his positivity even in the face of failures is truly inspirational.
I hope you check out the full video. It's him playing a video game and it has a Chinese level because the regular level is too easy for your typical Chinese game player. It's hilarious 😆😂🤣
Just for future reference, there is a web site called 'know your meme' that explains the when, where, how and why of meme's. It's worth a look if you ever wonder how or why something suddenly became popular.
Check out Steven's vids, he's quite a funny guy. His props are hilariously low grade though; just remember, when he's wearing the suit jacket, he's usually playing his father.

@@Ishlacorrin I didn't knew about that. Thanks
Steven seems like the nicest guy you could meet. He is ALWAYS smiling.
*books a flight to New York to hope I get to meet him*
I’m in love with Steven He!!!
HE SEEMS LIKE A RACIST are you blind?
For anyone that could be confused, I think Steven says the mandarin word for the dish 肠粉 (chang fen), but the subtitles use the Cantonese word (cheung fun). It is a Cantonese dish so cheung fun is the name you'd see more commonly used for the dish
He's come right back around to give us _Emotional HEaling_

At least now I understand his “accent”. Cause it’s clear he wasn’t raised in America, there’s something there that I couldn’t detect before despite his perfect speech. He sounds closer to a British accent but very lightly

THE ONE PIECE IS REAL!!!
@@randommanininternet2995 the one piece is realllllllllllll
Hi youtube
Literally when Steven ordered the peanut butter sandwich (he didn’t say and jelly) I was wondering if he would get a pb&j or just a peanut butter sandwich 😂😂 I am not disappointed
When my niece was little, she'd ask for "peanut butter and sandwich." That meant no jelly
I was thinking this when they were talking about the missing jelly
@@igjo8632same, I thought "well, you didn't order a peanut butter and JELLY sandwich"
Funny thing about the sandwiches, Steven specifically ordered Peanut Butter Sandwiches He never said jelly. So as is the case in most Chinese businesses. He got exactly what he asked for and nothing more.
Bruh
I heard him order a peanut butter sandwich also, he didn't say jelly or jam. 😁
Funny how your comment makes it sound like they are being stingy, but another way to look at it is they care about making their customer exactly what they want. I'd say it's good business acumen.
Reminds me of the time my mom asked for a snow pea noodle dish and she wanted it with green beans. She did not specify that she wanted the other vegetables that already came with it and only wanted to get rid of the snow peas but assumed they understood. Well they just gave her a bowl of noodles with green beans. Technically they gave her what she asked for so
was going to say when he ordered, if I was cashier I would hear that as no jelly
I really admire Steven He for his outlook and his humbleness. He seems like a really good guy and I can tell Ollie was genuinely touched when Steven explained his perspective when meeting people
noun for humble is humility, not humbleness
@@upisntdownsilly And then there’s you. 🙄
@@upisntdownsilly huh I learn something new everyday. Thanks for sharing!
The way Steven described failure really resonates with me. As an Asian, failure to achieve the standard of your heritage is common practice and you have to be sane enough to not be held back by it.
He is so humble and seems like the nicest guy to hang out with!
A collab we never knew we needed
But we need now
But we deserved
Yessss I agree!
Steven He certainly elevates the mood of the video. Seems like all three of them balance each other well enough, personality-wise. Happy Holidays to everyone.

Every collab Jolly does with other Internet Folk absolutely floors me 😂 I forget these people exist in the same universe
Mama Steve smiling from ear to ear as Josh and Ollie try food they’ve never had just made my day. I love this mashup 😅❤
Ollie truly enjoyed the company a lot here sharing his comedic taste with steven.
I love how positive Steven is. Aso, blue egg is very normal.. Prolly they overcooked it.
very normal. they have to overcook it, that's how they infused the tea flavor in it.
It’s a chemical reaction from the sulfur and the iron that occurs naturally in the egg whites and yolk.
My home economics teacher also told us the blue/grey in egg yolks are because of overcooking it😂
Steven seems like a really cool guy. So positive and down to earth. I love his mindset about success.
Blue around the egg yolk is fine, it happens when you boil an egg for more than 15 minutes or so, which is needed to get tea flavor to seep into the egg
Let's explain it clearly: There is a small amount of sulphur in egg yolks Sulphur evaporates when food is cooked but it is trapped inside a boiled egg and migrates out of the yolk the longer it is heated. We need trace amounts of sulphur in our diets so it's all good.
@@cathybaggott2873 wow. Thanks!
I relate so HARD to Steven's "I was at school by noon". My family immigrated from Beijing to Melbourne and I got dropped into first grade not knowing a lick of English. That trauma has stayed with me lmao
EDIT: since this comment is still getting replies lol, I left Melbourne after 2 years. I live in Canada now
God I feel bad, when I first moved I had time for adjustment bc they still need to do paperwork for me to go to school.
that's what we call emotional damage
Hahaa I have a similar experience as well! Went from Asia to Australia too, with only knowing 'yes', 'no', 'I don't know'.
Traumatised as hell... but it did make me panic-learn how to read, and thankfully after that my grades in English classes were always great. I've also come to love reading itself ❤️.
You're gonna have an awful lot of emotional traumas being raised by Asian parents, but I just consider them as fantastic learning opportunities now. You need to gigantic efforts to overcome them, but once you do you do feel invincible 😆💧💧.
@@rosemangofairy lmao yess I got so good at reading. I was reading at a higher level than my white classmates. It paid off tho, I'm a journalist now
@@rosemangofairy I didn’t panic learn, but damn did it make me a complete bookworm. I read so many books I ended up having better grammar than the actual kids who were born there, so I can relate lol

I love how Josh and Ollie are casually polishing off the last plate together while Steven shares his life story 😂
Hey….. I’m 42 and I don’t think it’s a joke. I get that it’s definitely a job and one that’s takes a lot of work. Plus it’s an art form. I admire you all, I know it can’t be easy and appreciate the hard work it takes to create this content for all of us.
I was going to say the same. Something they might not know or rmbr, is that CZcams was created in 2005. Super early 40 year olds were in there mid 20’s. We have seen the entire evolution of YT and know how it can evolve into a full time job. Not everyone can understand or comprehend that concept(Seeing the evolution of things) 😉

My favourite CZcamsrs collaborating! So happy you guys made it happen! I am Chinese-Canadian studying Korean language, so appreciate the collab! 감사합니다!
I love the merging of cultures. The respect for one another is awesome to see. Great stuff guys!
I understand Steven's pain. At the age of 8, I was suddenly taken from Stoke On Trent in England (where the accent is almost as indecipherable as Scottish) and dropped into Gravelbourg, Saskatchewan. I was taunted mercilessly over my accent - which, I quickly learned to adapt to "Canadian, eh?"
Sorry to hear that was your experience. People around you really should've done better. I hope Canada treated you better later on!
As a fellow stokie I appreciate this, it’s another type of English! ❤

Great synergy amongst the trio! I'd love more Jolly collabs with Steven He. P.S. I rewatched this vid and Steven had ordered a peanut butter sandwich (no jelly mentioned) so Tonii's only served what was ordered.
It's so strange to hear that his parents were supportive while he plays judgmental and always unsatisfied parents so well. I'm huge fan of Steven He (a.k.a Unkle Roger 🤣🤣🤣) and I love his videos so much. When I have kids I'll teach them English as fast as I can so they can watch his videos and take notes. 😂
We would've payed for such collaboration, but thank you for doing it for free.
His parents weren't supportive at first. I've seen other videos where he mentions this parents wanted him to stay in school first and then have his acting (thing)on the side.
It wasn't until he hit a million views on CZcams before he got a pat on the back.
Steven he doesn't play uncle Roger, Nigel Ng does! They joked about it since they may be mistaken for each other

I hadn’t watched Jolly in awhile. And I don’t know why I ever stopped. You two and the bright lights of joy that steer my life ship away from the razor sharp rocks of death spiraling depression. Never stop.
In case any one's wondering, have a blue yolk is due to over boiling an egg, it's just a chemical reaction, not because it's a tea egg, it's perfectly safe to eat. Btw, that's not really a 'tea egg'. For tea egg to properly marinade, usually they will gentle crack the shell of the egg and let it sit in this huge pot of tea and herbs until the customer picks one.
rev: Technically it IS a "tea egg", while it's more visually appealing/interesting with crazed/cracked texture, that this is not does not mean it is not a tea egg as it was still cooked with the same spices.
I’VE BEEN HOPING FOR THIS COLLAB TO HAPPEN FOR SO LONG
Yesss I agree
I love Stevens outlook on saying it's not about him it's about the character and what makes people happy. It's very humble I like it

OMG!! It’s called Cheung Fun?! I was trying to look for it for years. I had it once back in 2019, my very distant relative from China made it for us but I didn’t get to know the name and when Covid hit he just went back to China. Only thing I remember is that it’s very delicious and already my favorite food after a few bites. Gonna look for it now. Thanks a lot jolly and Steven ofc!!
Yup, cheung fun (the Canto pronunciation) or chang fen (the Mandarin one). It's also a staple item at dimsum places, so that's one more area to explore :)
@@TF_NowWithExtraCharacters dim sum is little different, they use the thicker premade fun like for chow fun noodles, these are thinner and fresh made to order. Both are good but different experience. I like the ones wrapped around the cruellers
@@TheBacontarian It depends I guess, I've had both fresh and premade versions at dimsum places (though the premade ones are definitely more common)
