Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let's Go, Eevee! are upcoming role-playing video games (RPGs) developed by Game Freak and published by The Pokémon Company and Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch. The games are the first installments of the Pokémon RPG series for the Nintendo Switch. They are enhanced remakes of the 1998 Game Boy video game Pokémon Yellow. They will also contain influences from Pokémon Go, as well as integration with Go, and will support a new optional controller called the Poké Ball Plus. The games are scheduled to be released worldwide on November 16, 2018
Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee! are set in the Kanto region and will include the original 151 Pokémon creatures in addition to their respective Mega Evolved and Alolan forms from Pokémon X and Y & Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, and Sun and Moon. Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee! will feature common elements of the series, such as battling non-player character Pokémon Trainers and Gym Leaders with caught Pokémon creatures. However, instead of battling them like the traditional battle system of other major Pokémon role-playing games (RPGs), the catching of Pokémon creatures uses a different mechanic that is based on the mobile spin-off game Pokémon Go where players throw Poké Balls at a wild Pokémon by using the motion controls of the Joy-Con controller. - Hry

I went on a catch combo of pikachus in lets go eevee edition. 231 Pikachus captured for 200 pikachu candies. And not a single one was shiny. After all that, I found a lvl 3 shiny bulbasaur though and it was my first ever shiny pokemon in 20 years. I started with yellow version and have always wanted to catch a shiny pokemon, but this level 3 bulbasaur was my first. And I love him!
The odds don't work specifically for your combo'd pokemon. If another shiney appears itll reset you back to 1/312 or whatever
I found shiny pikachu in 30 min but spent 2 hour trying to find a shiny charmander
I've been at 192-232 pikachu combo for the last 6 days and I play hours at a time and havent seen a shiny anywhere...... but before that I found 2 different 1 in 4000 shinies (no chain active)
It doesnt matter if you're at 100 or 200 or 300. No need to tell us your combo if youre above 31...its the same odds. After that every Pokemon that spawns has a 1 out of 340 (whatever it is). No way you played pokemon for 20 yrs and didnt get a shiny in XY, Omega, and whatever came after that. Easiest shin odds ever. Especially chain fishing

Just a small note, any Pokémon that runs from you will break your chain. It doesn't necessarily have to be the Pokémon you're chaining. That happened to me when I had a 31 rhyhorn chain and a shiny golbat fled. Very informative video as always though, your content throughout this games release has helped me immensely so thank you

If you throw a ball at a species different than your chain, it breaks out, and you run away, it does not break your combo. I was comboing Rhyhorn, chucked two balls at a Kangaskhan, then I ran, and I still had my combo.

also heads up people, i noticed that a pokemon lets you know that it is going to run right before it actually does, to you can run from it first and not break your combo. You'll notice it, where the pokmon will to and cry and i move but the circles stay showing the whole time, that means its about to run away so you can quickly run from it first to save your chain

Never got shiny before in other games. Other said shinies are easy to get so after becoming champion, i caught 347 nidoran male but still no shiny so i just give up cuz i got a 6 iv nidoran

I was very on the fence about enjoying this game. I even preordered the pokeball plus edition in like... September. All I knew was I wanted a switch Pokémon game (since mystery dungeon is no where to be found...) but, playing Pokémon let’s go with a pokeball plus has been the most novel, fun, nostalgic experience and I CANNOT get enough of it.

I found a full odds shiny paras in mount moon, this was my first shiny ever
Once I got my starter, i ran into route one. I caught a pidgey likening always do. First thing I see in the overworld after i catch the pokémon is a pidgey with sparkles around it. I run into and BAM! I throw the pokéball. I named it shimmer.

If I chain let's say growlithe's and want to catch a shiny eevee, will it increase the odds for an eevee or just growlithe's?
Would like to know this too!
It increased the odds of rare or special spawns, of which Eevee is one of them. It won't spawn as many as chaining the Eevee itself would, but it would increase the number of them. Also note that the guaranteed max IVs are only for the Pokémon species you chained, so it wouldn't be guaranteed good IVs.
Having a combo increases the shiny odds for all Pokemon.

Shiny hunting in this game is one of the best things :D personaly speaking i hate standing still but i also hate reequiping my flying pokemon the entire time to fly . So what i do i just capture every pokemon of the species that i am shiny hunting until i reach 200 candy and then just run into that same species and run. Doesnt despawn everything but it gives you a diffrent spawn atleast faster then waiting. Ofc unless there is a very nice way of reloading the map aka route 17

Do catch combos and lures affect mewtwo and the legendary birds?
I believe so, but I don't think it actually matters much. Since they're static encounters, you'd only get one 1/350ish chance before you'd have to reset your console..... which would end your catch combo. Unless you're talking about the wild birds. In that case, yes, you could use that same strategy to catch them, but not for Mewtwo. Mewtwo is only a static encounter

I'm so happy you addressed the lure pronunciation. I was just confused. If that's how it's said where you live, I understand. Just needed an explanation. Lol
I got a Chansey with a Lure active and only 8 combo, when I was starting to farm for XP. It was pretty lucky. After that I raised the combo to 100 and just started walking around, eventually I found a shiny Clefairy when I was on Mt Moon getting my daily Moon Stone. I think I'll hunt a Caterpie next, since I love Butterfree!
Can you do a video talking about your game collection set up behind you? I'd love to have my favorite and rare games displayed in such a clean-looking way. :)
Also you can bring fossils back to life without breaking your combo, so you can amass lots of fossils from Cerulean Cave and once you get a chain of 31 you can look for fossil shinys!

Been playing for a little over a week now. So far the only shiny I caught was a Ponyta (now a Rapidash) and it is beautiful!
Don't forget that you need to leave an area/fly in the sky for the shiny rate to update. Otherwise it still uses the 1 in 4xxx chance, even if you're 31+ combos in

Thanks for this update. I think it's important to add information that wasn't available at the release day of the games.
Now about the"should you leave the area to reset the spawns or not?" thing: in my opinion, you should do what is the most fun for you. I for my part run around like an idiot, encountering the pokemon I have an active chain for and see how long I can go building up the combo before I give up. It's more fun for me, I know it's not efficient, but shiny hunting to me was never being as efficient as possible. I just wanna have fun :D
And no method ofdoing things is wrong when you end up with a shiny. Simple as that.

Great video. Spent a solid 10 hours hunting for a shiny Nidoran female and before I got it, I got a shiny Rattata, Charizard and Nidoran male. When that Nidoran female finally showed up, felt like Christmas but better. Pretty sure I would be an embarrassment to mankind for how much celebration happened lol

Got a shiny Rhyhorn in Rock Tunnel by doing the Lure with 31+ combo! Its helpful to be by a ladder so you can go up and down to reset spawns.

I just caught my first shiny Vulpix without even having the shiny charm! Plus it only took about 2 hours!
Also at a 10 catch combo the Pokémon you are trying to combo will spawn more often. And the combo will affect the shiny chance an ALL Pokémon you encounter not just the one that you are in a combo with.
No wonder I found a shiny ratatta while hunting nidoran lol
I got a shiny pikachu after like 15 and a growlithe after about 400 so there is definitely still a lot of luck involved on how fast you get one even with the odds being pretty good

Great video as always! One thing though, You mentioned that if the pokemon from the species you're comboing(is that a word?) runs your combo breaks, but actually if any pokemon runs from you it'll break. (I'll explain a little more below)
Another thing that I think it is important to mention is that you can combo one species but the shiny chance is for all pokemon that'll appear, not only the one you're comboing(again, is it a word? lol).
I made a 500+ charmander combo and got 0 shinies(charmanders, çause I ran away from 3 ratatas, 1 ekans and 1 spearow) and was a little frustraded cause I wanted the black charizard, so I went to farm it near the veridian forest entrance. The charizard shiny appeard but it ran away(Yeah, I know, I cried for a week) and that broke my combo.
