Just accept that your Filipino language Tagalok is nothing like Spanish. Love yourself and stop being so insecure. Let the Chavacanos have their Identity. Stop trying to Devalue the claim of your fellow Filipinos. Let the Chavacanos enjoy their spotlight. Dont be cheap. Have your own stage.

@@lainea8628 @RIA No, you should be the one who needs to learn the differences.
Dialects are just variations (in tones and some of the vocabulary) of a language. However, languages are different in terms of its vocabulary and grammar, mainly.
If Cebuano, Ilocano, Waray, etc. are really dialects of "Filipino" which is just a dialect of Tagalog, then can a Tagalog speaker understand them? They are languages, since they won't understand most of what these tongues mean.

you can’t really call it a dialect of spanish. it doesn’t share the same grammar structure. but it is a spanish-based creole language

Chavacano is Spanish like a child would speak with some Filipino words thrown in. I grew up in the Philippines and we spoke Spanish at home but I also can only understand maybe 90% because I recognize the Filipino words.

FYI the “na” particle in the Philippine languages mixed in the here, whether Tagalog or Binisaya, mean the same “Past Aspect Completed” of a verb or predicate. “Na mi cuarto” drops the verb “ir” to mean “been in my room.”
