  • Do you have a favorite photo or piece of art? In this episode, Morgan turns a digital image into a 3D relief carving using an easy tool in Carveco Maker.
    Onefinity machines are excellent at 3D carving because of their highly precise, ball screw design. This prevents missed steps, which are common among CNCs with belt and rack & pinion drive systems. A 3D carving is where you can really see the difference, and the relief feature build into Carveco Maker makes it easy!
    Follow along, and easily turn your favorite photo or art piece into a beautiful 3D relief!

    Great video, Morgan! I did not know that about matching the feed and plunge rate!

    Great video! It does need to be said that sculpt tools for targeted smoothing are only available in Maker+.

    It would be cool if carveco could export the surface after processing as a greyscale heightmap that could be used by a galvo fiber laser

      @@OnefinityCNC I would be happy to buy the software. There is no issue with the quality of the I2R machine and I don't know that Onefinity machines are available in Australia so Tech support would be an issue if I imported one.

    Why not go faster since you have more rpm available? Lose definition?

    • @MorganHop
      @MorganHop Před 2 měsíci +1

      I could definitely go faster but I kinda like to take it slow. I'm not banging out a bunch of stuff so if I'm doing one-offs, I prefer to run the machine conservatively - not because the machine can't handle it, I'm more worried about tearing out the material

    If your image is bigger, is there a way tile them in Carveco on separate pieces of wood and then tile them together in sections after carving?

      Oooo that's a good question. I'll ask the folks from Carveco.

      ask on the carveco forum, I'm sure they'll know!
