29 Week Old Baby Development
Ah, what a little sleep can do. Learn how to get more shut-eye-even with a baby. Plus, how to boost your immune system.
29 Week Old Baby Milestones 👶
Around this time, you may notice your little one becoming wary and uneasy around unfamiliar faces. This phenomenon, known as stranger anxiety, can begin as early as 5 months of age, but typically peaks between 6 to 12 months. This is a phase that will eventually pass, but in the meantime, honor her feelings of uneasiness by staying close in unfamiliar situations. It may help to explain to others what she is going through, so they understand her hesitation to socialize with anyone but those familiar to her. Make sure you use this time to explain to her as well (she may not talk yet, but she is listening). Validate her feelings of anxiousness, and explain to her that she is safe, even around unfamiliar faces and places.
If you have to leave baby at daycare or with a family or friend, you can try this gentle process to ease the transition:
The first time you drop baby off at an unfamiliar (or all of a sudden “scary” place), stay with baby in the new environment the first time. Encourage her to explore her surroundings and play with toys, etc. Be relaxed and easy about the whole thing (baby picks up on mama’s energy!).
The second time, stay with her for 10 minutes. Again, encourage her to explore and engage with her environment versus clinging to you.
And the third time, leave after giving her a hug or a kiss and her favorite stuffed animal or lovie. Taking these extra steps can help soothe baby’s discomfort.
It’s hard to see your little one struggle, but exposure to new places and new people is crucial as baby explores and learns about the world around them.

Definitely incorporate high fiber foods and lots of fruit and veggies! Your baby may need a little bit of water as well if they’re over 6-8 months old.
