I love your foraging videos, they beautifully demonstrate nature's gifts to mankind....
EXCELLENT video. This guy is a very good presenter.
i'm from chile, those coquitos are amazing!!!! yummmyyy.......
oh my god! i live in the caribbean and i am surrounded of palms!my dog plays with coquitos every day now i am thinking he eats them (and doesn't play with them, helloooo!!!) because he really likes them! of course this afternoon I am going to pick up some, they are everywhere! Thanks!=D
After watching this video I gathered some seeds from my Pindo Palm / Jelly Palm and cracked them open. I used my macadamia nut cracker. The seeds tasted like coconut also.
I have read that Jelly Palms can pollinate and crossbreed with Chilean Wine Palms and the palm which grows from that is still quite large but the leaves do not fall off on their own and will need to be cut off to clean up the trunk.
So, if you want to grow a Chilean Wine Palm make sure it is from a pure source that is not pollinated by Jelly Palms.
Very informative and educational. Keep em comin'. From NYC.

very cool video, i wish we had coconut trees here in Israel.
There isn't/wasn't/will never be a country called israel. It will forever be The Holy Land of
P A L E S T I N E 🇵🇸🌿 and "israel" is nothing more than a Terrorist Occupation, that WON'T last forever.
I could try to grow these. Thanks!
thanks again john for teaching me how to grow my own awesome, nutrient dense food.i had a good harvest for my first year.i have a question about coconuts.i live on the NH VT border and am having trouble getting coconuts that are not rotten.at least i think they are rotten.the water is always clear but some meat is maroon and blue n moldy looking from the shell in.also wetter between the meat and shell.i throw these away,am i wasting them?and no way of knowing before you open them if good or bad.
Holy smokes that's a huge palm, old too.
That is amazing, What other medium chain foods are there that are more available?
Yeah John! Place a tripod at the bottom of a coconut tree with the camera tilted up so we can watch how you climb up and get the coconut!:-) Another great video! Thanks for sharing!
You make me wish I lived on the West Coast!
Jah love John. I wish that you would compare fresh young coconut to the older ones. I have seen you show them and you said that you drink the water from them daily. So what do you do with the meat? Blessed love.
in phillipines there is a
lot coconut too
interesting!
Do you have clay soil?
Hey John, show us a video of you picking coconuts up a coconut tree. :)
Most do have water inside, the dry ones are not as tasty as the wet ones.
