    I primarily carry in a sling bag on my back. My wife does too. Holds a ton of EDC gear and doesn’t limit the size of my gun. Has a very useable rip open design. Looks like a small diaper bag for dads. (I have a bunch of little kids) I even put a silly animal patch on it to sell that idea. It goes everywhere with me and is quick out the door with almost any clothes. Draw is strong hand grabs strap near that side”s hip and rotates bag to my front. Weak hand grabs handle and rips open bag. Strong hand draws gun from Velcro holster. I’ve practiced. It’s not bad at all for speed, comfort and convenience.

    During my work week, I use an old old day hiking sling bag with my trauma med kit, wallet, keys, pen and pad, a double mag kydex pouch, combat rosary, small streamlight, cracked light bearing Tier 1 holster for my g 19 with a beat up TLR-1HL, and a spare non light bearing holster. Everything is tethered and in pockets, but the bag is falling apart now. I HAVE to get my shit updated and squared away pronto.

    I've always wanted to carry this way when wearing Gym shorts, generally carry my LCP2 in my gym shorts casue it's so light weight, but i carry the G45 as my EDC, but it's summer and i'm always in gym shorts for the most part, this seems like a nice work arounds for quick trips, thx for this.

    I truly don't notice my gun about 98% of the time. However....I pocket carry a very small gun. Obviously significant limitations there, but I can draw decently well and consistently, and can shoot it well enough. I choose it because I'm exactly the kind of person that will eventually stop carrying consistently if it's not comfortable enough. Knowing that about myself, I choose to carry 100% but with a less capable handgun. This is a neat bag though, will definitely consider for times when off-body carry (of a better gun) may be a better choice, if such a time exists. Thanks for the video.

    Is it best? Of course not! But its more common than people think. I have done it in the past with my full sized pistols "duty size" simply out of convenience in like a sling bag.

    I agree off body is generally a bad idea unless absolutely necessary. I don't even like to carry my pistol in a pouch on my wheelchair, but accessing a firearm from my waist (3 o'clock) while seated in the wheelchair is incredibly slow. And you don't want to know how uncomfortable appendix is when you have to lean forward constantly to balance the chair for ramps, curbs, stairs, etc. . And a shoulder holster is not an option in a manual wheelchair, which required you to use both arms to roll the chair. The shoulder holster does work fine for electric wheelchairs though.
    All that said this bag does look like a viable option for wheelchair use. It keeps the firearm centered, not in the way of your arms for rolling the chair. The quick buckle is not digging in your back, like so many other bags do. And by the way bag designers, what are you thinking putting a quick THEFT buckle where thieves have better access to it than the person wearing the bag?
    The multiple pockets for wallet, keys, etc. should be useful and the adjustable retention for the firearm in the bag should be effective. I look forward to trying out this bag.
    Thanks for another review of a potentially useful item.
    Oh and ladies, never carry a firearm in a bag with THIN easily cut straps. Thieves will come up behind you with garden shears, cut the strap and grab your bag before it hits the ground. Then be gone with your firearm and all your valuables before you even realize what happened. This is a standard practice of professional pick pocket / snatch and grab teams operating in large cities, especially tourist heavy cities. I saw this done in several times in both Paris and Venice in the mid 90's, and crime is only worse now.

    Great review, as we have come to expect from this channel. You handled some tough topics, and gave some good information. The only thing i might add is how few CCW purses (none that i can think of off the top of my mind) actually employ slash-resistant straps -- a feature missing from this bag, too.

    I only do it because I don't need people knowing at work.
    I have the option if someone decides to go full on crazy. I'll have advanced notice compared to others but I'm not leaving my life in the company's hands. Especially since they've constantly proven themselves to me to not care. No trouble no fuss it's there, I can work safely and it's not an issue.

      Have you seen how popular sling bags are with young people and travelers. Just get a purpose built one that isn't black! 5.11 makes other colors
      I live near Ft Moore. Soldiers are very often carrying backpacks and sling bags in camo colors.
      Also I often hear using a photographer's or Banana Republic screams shoot me first I have a gun.
      But Massad Ayoob has yet to find a single example of this urban myth.

    Sadly how hard you must try to keep from offending people.
    But a good explanation of the disadvantages of off body carry.
    I confess depending on the city circumstances I use a purpose made heavy duty fanny pack man purse. Not a black one. But Blue of kelly green.
    With lots of practice I can carry plus daily.
    You would think this sceams gun!
    But I'm an old fart.
    Other old farts and women ask me where they can get one to carry their stuff i.e. phone, wallet etc in separate pouches.
    Dedicated real holster in a velcro lined rip and deploy.
    Being prepared I almost always! carry a New York city reload a S&W 642.
    Actually I can talk and evaluate the situation with my hand casually holding the 642's grip my pocket. In a good pocket holster and nothing else in the pocket. So my bagged gun actually becomes my NYC reload.
    I have a tourniquet on the bag and a red cross next to it. So the message is good guy prepared.
    Cheers

      @@RTTGunsGear I carry @ the three. I use a Desantis Gunhide. It actually has a spot for an extra mag and it's kind of a cheap holster, under $50. I've been using them for years. I actually use to carry the Taurus G3C for about 4 years but I recently got me a Kimber Mako R7, which is an amazing pistol, the iron sights are phenomenal. I always wear an undershirt otherwise the stippling scratches me. But seriously I don't feel that thing sitting standing walking. It's just become a part of me, and I never leave home without it.

    • @RTTGunsGear
      @RTTGunsGear  Před měsícem +1

      Yes... off body carrying is basically anything that's not in a dedicated holster on your belt, ankle, shoulder rig, or something like that. Basically, if it's in a bag that you can set down away from you. It's considered "off body"

  • @tacticaltoolbox7046
    @tacticaltoolbox7046 Před měsícem

    Off body carry is a half solution to the problem of not being able to do on body. Choices made in clothing styles precipitate this as well as body shape. Strong side carry, IWB is not possible for some women, period. So it is a solution of sorts to have off body carry in those cases. But saying off body is equal to on body, is wrong. Concealed carry is a gradient and the differing solutions need to be evaluated with eyes wide open.

    • @RTTGunsGear
      @RTTGunsGear  Před měsícem

      I didn't say that off body was equal to on body.

    • @tacticaltoolbox7046
      @tacticaltoolbox7046 Před měsícem

      @@RTTGunsGear not putting words in your mouth. Please don't take it that way. What I meant to say is, those who say or imply off body is equal to on body are wrong. Certainly accessibility is an issue. I think you nailed it on the guys that want to be armed but make huge concessions because they don't want to be inconvenienced by clothing, weight. Opportunity cost. There's no way to carry without inconvenience of some sort.
