I Want to Come Over, Bring Me Some Water, and Come to My Window are brilliant from Melissa!
Every song you listed!! Perfect!!!❤❤
Agreed, And "Walking on Water" is great too.
Melissa didn't come out as gay until fairly late in her career. So, to be honest without going public, her songs were always in the first person. Anyone straight, gay, or whatever can always identify with the emotions and situations. Great songwriter with a powerful voice.
She is a fantastic singer/song writer and totally unappreciated. Also, she sounds amazing live!!
I met Ms. Etheridge in person once and she truly is one of the nicest most genuine people out there.
Do ANYTHING from her Debut Album! You won't be disappointed
Melissa is a powerhouse vocalist!
I’ve forgotten how good this song was. My absolute favorite of hers.
This is an ode to intense 'Sapphic Love'
For more like this, listen to K.D. Lang doing "Constant Craving" and follow it up with Melissa doing "I want to come over"
I've seen Melissa 3 times, and you are right. She sounds exactly like this (if not better) live. I fell in love with her raw passion and talent the first time I heard "Bring me Some Water."
Love this song! Come To My Window should be your next song, From her CZcams page, not the music video.
It does sound the same live! Have seen her twice, as recently as a month ago!
This whole album is phenomenal, I wore it out! Great choice
Same. ❤
Yes! 👍
Me too
This has been and will remain one of my favorite songs and videos of all time. Melissa, she hits on a whole other level. The raw power!!! So excited to see you react to this! ❤❤❤
"Come To My Window" (1993) and "Like the Way I Do" (1988) are also great intros to Melissa Etheridge's work, but she also has a brilliant duet video out there, sharing the mike with Bruce Springsteen on "Thunder Road": that one is just great rock fun.
Simply amazing live!
I highly recommend the 2005 Grammy's performance Tribute to Janis Joplin by Joss Stone and Melissa Etheridge! You can hear her live...
YES! That performance was amazing!!!
I saw her open up for Sting in the 90's and she blew him away. Her voice alone filled up the building!
Your thoughts are right on! Melissa sounds the same or better in person on than any recording. I saw her in concert in May and she was on fire. She performed with strength and power, nonstop for 2 hours, the only break was changing guitars and comments about her music. She has written some books, the most recent "Talking To My Angels" which I highly recommend.
I saw her live maybe 5 years ago with Pat Benatar! They were both still amazing!
Saw this show in the early 90's at the SuperDome opening for the Eagles during the Hell Freezes Over Tour. Oh, and front row. Sounded just like this. Amazing. Best band ever live.
❤ She is the greatest, ever!!
What a phenomenal song. Her voice is fire. Thank you for yet another great reaction.
"No Souvenirs" is a must.
I love this song. Anything that Melissa Etheridge sings is fire
She sounds this good live, saw her several times in the early 90's.
I forgot how great this song is!!
She's incredible!!! You're going to love diving into this! Can't wait to see more!!
Vocals are amazing on this song.
Still one of the best female rock songs out there
My favorite rock female vocalist
Have loved this song forever!
Such a strong album.
Legend!
She absolutely kills is live as well!!! ❤
You’re absolutely right- it sounds excellent in concert!
She was always underrated!
Yes, it sounded just like this live! A friend of mine was her sound tech for years. He was basically on retainer and whenever she did anything live, he was there at a moments notice. And of course, he did all the tours.
Oh man, I'd forgotten how much I used to love this song! Glad you had fun with it!
Melissa is one amazing singer, her voice is unmistakable.
She is wonderful
Awesome song. You are right too. This song sounds just like this live. I saw Melissa in concert just last month. April 2024
You’re absolutely correct! I saw her in 2003 and her vocals were totally amazing! Clear perfection!
if you are digging this energy, like the way i do, and chrome plated heart...brave and crazy as well
Banger!! She has been called the modern Janice Joplin. The entire album is fire.
Her first hit, Like the Way I do, is a must.
❤❤ Melissa Etheridge ❤❤
This is on my permanent play list - both audio and video. Fantastic lyrics and music.
This album was FIRE 🔥. I love Love LOVE her voice!
Melissa's one of the best female rockers ever. Great reaction! Now, I implore you, check one of her live performances . . . maybe "Take s Little Piece of My Heart" or any of them. Trust me.
I’m the only one is my favorite song by her. Great reaction!
Mine too!
❤All Melissa songs are great. She is kick ass.
Her banger is Brave and Crazy imo. That entire Brave and Crazy album is stupid good.
Melissa is just brilliant. Two of my favourite songs of her's are "Silent Legacy" and "My little Secret".
Ty for anything you do by her…she’s amazing!!!🇨🇦🖖🏻
I grew up listening to her with my mom. So much nostalgia! Still rock out to her music in the car all the time haha
She's amazing.
There is a Live performance with K D Lang that is incredible!!! "You Can Sleep While I Drive" !!! Fantastic
I love seeing artists from home.
"I Want to Come Over" and "Come to My Window" are some of my favorites!! Check out the official video for "Come To My Window". Actress Juliette Lewis Nailed it!!!
She’s amazing. Bring me some water, Heavy, I want to come over, so many good ones to listen to
Fabulous album. Every song rocks. This might be my favorite.
"Bring me Some Water" was her first big hit. And it is really worth a listen. So is "Sleep While I drive". She does a incredible version of this with Amy Grant (live).
Definitely my favorite song by her. Thanks for bringing it back to life. Hadn't heard it for a while.
I saw her and Sarah McLachlan and KD Lang & more at lilith fair at the Gorge!
Takes me back to being at the bar for an afternoon beer bust on a sunny day, with the doors open, playing darts and jamming out to this song. Always played it on the jukebox, and it got the crowd going every time. 😎
Lately there are a few reactors host artists they have reacted to in the past. Melissa was one such artist. She gave excellent content. Woulkd this be something you would consider in future reactions?
Thank you for doing this song! I just bought tickets to see her in August! Can’t wait.
Highly recommend Come to my Window.
Yes!!! Come to my window is fire Fire 🔥 🔥🔥
One of the greatest...reminds me of Bonnie Raitt..magical ❤😂🎉😢😮😅😊❤😂🎉😢😢😮😅😅😊😊
♥
Such a good song and makes you want to get up and move❤
You can sleep while I drive is a must listen
Try this dance hit from the 90's UK..bass - o - matic with fascinating rhythm, absolutely brilliant tune!
Like You Do from her first album.
Looks like she had 16 studio albums now, but when I bought her first album (self-titled) it blew me away and is still by far my favorite out of all of them. Almost every song on that record was, as you say, a "banger".
Awesome! I needed a little Melissa today! Try more!
Saw her a couple years ago!!! Fire!!
She does a FANTASTIC cover of Del Shannon's Runaway. Well worth a listen.
Melissa, along with Hootie and the blowfish, are the soundtrack to my 30s. 😂
Yes I Am is a truly great album.I am a hippie from the 70s. When this came out I was 38 and not listening to much modern music. The singles blew me away and the other songs were at lest as good. Not a bad song on the album. Btw just have to say Melissa Etheridge's band really kicks butt.
Never seen the video before . . .but spent hours listening to this song during university. It's better never having seen the video. Because, honestly, the insides of our heads make it more sexy than the video.
It was still the era when they felt they needed to include (at least) one guy and feature him prominently. He's sort of a decoy :)
I have been hoping that somebody would start reacting to Melissa etheridge. She is one hell of a singer. She got that bluesy shit that I love❤ Bonnie raitt is good also❤. Love your show❤
Sir....Little River Band - It's a Long Way There.
It's the first track from their first album...1975.
Amazingly fantastic!!! (Steely Dan meets the Eagles)
I owe it to my fantastic english teacher that I know and Love Melissa Etheridge - she had us fill in lyric blanks with Headphones up listening to fantasic music (English as a foreign language) - cheers to you Mrs. Hauer, you were one of the best Teachers I ever had!
She's amazing live !!!!!!
Like the way I do is "FIRE"
My favorite by ME is a crazy little stalker song called You Must be Crazy for Me. Great song!
Have you listened to any Bonnie Raitt? I think you would love her, too
I'm straight, but this song made me question my sexuality when it came out. lol She's great!
Another vote for "Like The Way I Do" next
Yeah, man. Try "The Angels Won't Have It".
Come to my Window and Angels Would Fall are also great!
Melissa is an out and proud Lesbian. 👍🏳🌈
One of her songs that really shows how things were for a lot of couples yet is still romantic and sexy is "Nowhere to Go."
This and Wicked Games by Chris Isaak are two of the sexiest songs out there 🔥
Your should hear her do Janis Joplin (live), I think it was Janis' induction to the R&R Hall of fame. Unbelievable performance. Melissa's Yes I Am album is not to be missed; all of her early work was phenomenal. She was quite controversial in the 90s, coming out as a lesbian practically at the start of her career, which probably 'hurt' her career at the time, similar to K.D. Lang. But later she was diagnosed with breast cancer and of course was out of the limelight for a while because of that. She can play the heck out of that 12 string as well.
I was never a fan of Melissa etheridge. But I did really enjoy I'm the only one. It's making me question my previous opinion I think I'm going to have to explore some more for music
Chrome plated heart
try Level 42, song Lessons in love. Also take a look at Billy Ocean song When the going gets tough.
Like the Way I Do. And, You Can Sleep While I Drive, live performance with k d lang.
Please react to her and joss stone's janis joplin tribute. Its absolutely mind blowing
Melissa walked so people like Lizzy Hale could run and did so as an openly lesbian, politically outspoken, woman at a time where that still made you a pariah in society. She is an icon and criminally under apreciated for what she gave female lead rock music.
Sia’s new album “Reasonable Woman” is out!! Can you please react to it?? 👀
Love your reactions ❤
