After he retired, he proudly worked part time singing in drag (he was a straight cross dresser) at a cigar lounge for over a decade in the late 80s and most of the 90s. Now he was a real proud boy who proudly fought for his nation and was a proud to be who he was. RIP, Mr. Newton, you are missed. You left us too soon.

I'm sure it's because of him that I'm such an ardent supporter of the LGBTQ+ crowd even though I'm straight. He was the perfect example of everything that makes a real man: caring, tolerant, non-judgmental, protective, providing, accepting, forgiving, helping, etc. For any so-called Christians who read this, that's also the example Jesus set.
