Brendan was literally against everything this guy was saying at the beginning of the podcast and 15 minutes he’s making mental notes to DL all his standup onto CZcams for free when gets home.
I feel like Bill Burr unwittingly did this. He hasn't done any recent specials, but everyone share clips of his older stuff. Namely reaction channels, or his couch stuff with late night talk show hosts. Andrew articulates this really well. He's got the formula.

These guys are on point with their analysis. It's about time comedians start considering their craft as their own personal business as a musician or an artist would. When you're taking deals from these other platforms it's no different than selling equity of your small start up early on before you've grown to a wealthy established investor. Trust in yourselves more, there are platforms such as CZcams where you can put your stuff out for free and compete with the established networks.
I do understand that artists will give equity to a showroom and musicians will give equity to labels. It's sad really how people steal percentages of talent under the guise of being able to expose their work to more people than the artist in any field could reach on their own. Fortunately for the creative types out there we're becoming far more connected than allowing billboards be best way for people to see you.
