Blue Ember Metallic Mustang Darkhorse - Gtechniq "Black" New Car Ceramic Coating Package - Tampa, FL

- Follow along with us as we take this brand new Blue Ember Metallic Mustang Darkhorse and completely transform the paint, even being brand new! We will be applying the professional Crystal Serum Ultra “Black’ package, which is a extremely strong and durable base layer of Gtechniq Crystal Serum Ultra, followed by an application of Gtechniq EXOv5. This will provide for even further improved longevity and hydrophobic properties (the coatings ability to reject and push water off the paint surface), making the vehicle much easier to maintain for a longer period of time!
The first step is to thoroughly clean the wheels, exterior and door jambs. We performed a two-step decontamination process using a combination of Iron & Fallout Remover, as well as a clay bar by hand to eliminate any contaminants that may be bonded to the surface during transportation or from the factory. Even though the vehicle is brand new, contaminants, usually in the form of rail dust, can attach itself to the paint, leaving a rough surface.
This Darkhorse came to us with only a few hundred miles on the clock, but even so, the paint work still needed a good amount of work to get it to the desired level. This car has a painted stripe option, which is done AFTER the car is originally painted its main color. We have seen this often when the GT350 and GT500s were coming out of the factory. Due to the hand painted nature, the factory was not completely finishing down the surface and on the jet black, it left much to be desired. We discussed the options with the client and made sure of his intentions on how he planned to use the vehicle and how it will be maintained. We ended up going with a multi step paint correction to make this Darkhorse look absolutely amazing. We were super excited to work on this color, knowing it was going to look insane in the sunlight once completed!
Once we have the desired results with the paint polishing, we can begin the ceramic coating process. We use an alcohol spray to remove any remaining polishing oils or slips solutions from the install. We used our top tier professional ceramic coating package, which we call the Gtechniq Crystal Serum Ultra "Black" Package. This includes a base layer of Crystal Serum Ultra, followed with EXOv5 on all of the exterior surfaces. We also applied a combination of these coatings on the door jambs and exterior plastics.
