I appreciate that they let them sing in their kid voices. I don't like it when a child's voice sounds over trained and too adult. These sound very honest.

I was looking at a live feed of Times Square when I noticed that a poster for Matilda was very close to a poster for Annie. I realized that both musicals star a spunky little girl who gets adopted by her dream parent. But, there's one big difference. Annie's signature song is about hoping things will be better. Matilda's signature song is about making things better yourself.
but both songs are amazing messages for kids :)

The girls in this are such inspirations to everyone. They obviously trained long and hard hours to make this happen. I appreciate they did not have to go through months of vocal training and how they could just be themselves. Mischevous, cunning and a little bit naughty:)

I have a question... Why do West End and Broadway have the same choreography and same set design? They have almost the same blocking too, do the same people direct both? Very confused.
xxCailynGracexx West End & Broadway don't have the same director. But It's the same show, all over the world - there are some adaptations made for each country to make it work for them. It's just the way the show has been written. It's the same with any professional show

Okay, now there is no word limit on comments I can explain why there are four Matilda's.
In the UK, there are strict child labour laws which effects all mediums, like television shows etc. So for ANY child role on the West End there will be 3 or 4 children playing the role, for example in Les Mis 4 girls play Little Cosette even though she's only on for part of Act 1. In Matilda, she has to carry the whole show at a really young age. One 8 year old doing 8 shows a week would be extremely tiring, so having four girls playing the role twice a week would prevent them from tiring themselves out. Also, in allows them to catch up with a school and still see their friends. In the US, the labour laws are less strict, so normally there would only be one girl playing Matilda. However, the director decided that there would always be four girls playing the role so they can still be a child.
There is an example with Matilda Broadway, there are one main actor/actress for all of the classmates like Bruce and Lavender and four swings. When Annie was open there was only one girl playing each of the orphans (minus Duffy) and one swing. In the UK, there must be 3 people playing each role if they're under 18.
Yes, in Matilda there are 4 swings. Who mainly cover 2 roles each.

Matilda was the first show I saw on broadway. It was a truly magnificent show and I remember being so overwhelmed with emotion especially during the finale.
i saw matilda in london with elise being matilda and she was fabulous! so much personality and energy and so entertaining!

I think it's really interesting seeing them all put together, they all seem to have a different portrayal of their character. I think the second to sing is brilliant and the final singer has some brilliant fascial expressions.
