Lightning is the spark that can be seen in the sky during rains and thunder is the loud sound heard just after lightning.though they occur at the same time lightning is seen before thunder is heard ,this is because the speed of light is much more than the speed of sound.The speed of light in air or vaccum is approximately 3*10⁸m/s and the speed of sound in air is 343m/s.Thus,the light from lightning travels to us much faster than the sound produced by it.
actually sound cannot travel in vacuum so you can correct you comment

Ans - the light trevels at the speed of 300000km/sec. Which is very large in comparison to the speed of sound which trevels all then 3.30 m/sec. In air
