You can get an “adequate” mic for around $150, but it won’t be this clear. And anything cheaper gets to sounding yucky Edit: as far as I’m aware, at least. But I’m definitely not an expert
that's because you're listening in the room and probably not at ear level and haven't post-processed it to death before snapping some headphones on and enjoying what is a very nice recorded tone but nothing of what you actually hear in the room :)
Traditionalists argue all the time but in modern times there are some pretty fantastic pieces of gear out there that are extremely cheap. Amps are a little tougher, thats where you should spend your money.
Ive had a hobby now for around 15 years which is buying cheap electric guitars and doing a proper set up on them. This includes the work that would be done by the factory if the selling point of the guitar eas higher. This means leveling the frets and finishing the nut. Then a full set-up. Im playing the guitar the whole time so after the initial set-up ill play it and notice where the set-up can be tweaked and go back and lower a fret here and there only under particular strings. Continually lowering the action over the weeks and months. My rule is to never swap out any part of the guitar unless its broken. And if the git has a strat style trem i set it up to be full floating. But with way more up and down movement than fender specs. I also have some very nice guitars. There is definitely a difference between a lower level, inexpensive guitar that plays as well as sn expensive guitar and a factory high quality built guitar. Like an American Fender, Gibson, Ric... It's really difficult to describe. All guitars sound good AND bad. Its completely subjective. But the least expensive guitar can play as well and be absolutely tune stable. As well as being perfectly reliable as a multi thousand dollar brand guitar. As a side note, no one is interested in buying a cheap guitar that has been worked on. It's really strange. Ive tried selling guitars that play like butter for $100 and literally not one person answers my ad. But if i just write "guitar. $100. As is" they'll sell. I've offered them for free to many people. No one is interested. I now just stack em up in a shed. Rats build nests in the mound of guitars that have been worked on for sometimes years.
sì, il software, la chitarra, le lezioni, il sostentamento prima (cibo acqua ecc...?) ^__^ Però bravo, dimostri che si può fare anche bene con poco, noi lo sappiamo già ma vabé
Those are Neumann KM 184s. They cost $1,600 for a pair. Neumann makes incredible microphones, but in my opinion, they aren't amazing enough to justify the cost. These particular mics are Small Diaphragm Condensers (aka Pencil Condensers), a pair of SDCs can be found for as little as $60. In theory one could build a very similar set up on a tight budget. Bear in mind that one would also need an audio interface with at least 2 inputs and a computer to plug it into.
That amp doesn't have reverb. I get it, but this really isn't an honest representation of how it would sound. Theres a reason the amp is double miced plus the sound has been processed with most likely reverb and eq. Everything outside of the guitar + amp + cable is already more expensive that what most people start off playing with, so whats the point?

True budget set up. Love it especially the mic, I can save a lot of bucks
Love the cheap but nice sounding mic
Merry Christmas and Holidays.. thanks for the video
Thank you! Playing on budget equipment and still sounding good gives us hope.
CONGRATS FOR ONE MILLIONNN
Great playing + good mics + a lot of reverb/postprocessing = good recording. Main ingredient: great playing.

I use an iRig. Makes it so I can record things just like this straight into GarageBand on my phone. So useful.
I’ve looked into those. But let’s both admit neither of us is recording anything this sexy with anything that we have.
@@Zeta9966 it’s not really professional but it’s good for demos or practicing. I just saw iRig advertised a ton in guitar world magazine

I have this amp, I have never heard that kind of tone coming out of it.
