    Hey MC, they can move between bearings and FB washers. The mini has gmascus scales like Hogue does on the Deka. Also the hardware isn’t only extra. It’s so you can swap from polished to blacked out on the full size. 👍🏼

    Was close to pulling the trigger on these when they came out, most flew off the shelves at retailers quickly though. I wish the full size versions had the same steel as the minis. Full size = K110, mini = 14C28N. If I could build one my way, I'd take the full size in that red/black G10 with a non-coated 14C28N blade.

    The washers and bearings they send with all there knives. Its a nice touch great company. And as far as ive researched Hinderer cant stop anyone from including them. Now way for him to claim a patent on something thats been around before he was born. Its washers be that it may be a thicker than normal set, its still just a washer

    Thinkin' I'm going to get a Beluga. I've probably watched a dozen PF reviews and for what they are ... they're smartly done and offer very good value. Pretty sure the Tri-way name is trademarked but that you can't patent an idea. Glad I had a chance to see the blue micarta on the full size Beluga. They have some other well designed models as well. I normally purchase and use more expensive knives but these are pretty nice.

    Yo MC...what would you pick if you were gonna REALLY upgrade your edc knife having these limits in mind 1: Budget of $150-$200
    2:Blade steel better then s-35vn
    3: Blade size 3.5-4.0in and drop point shape (like hogue exo1 or bm adamas).
    4:Good action (I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and have SEVERE deformaties in my fingers and wrists).
    5:Flipper opening and maybe button or axis or x-r lock.
    I carry a kershaw blur. I really trust your advice and we kinda have the same taste. I would go nuts for a subenza 31 or an xm 18 but those WILL NEVER be in my price range thanks to a fixed or should neuetered income. Thanks I look forward to your help.

  • @mcsquirgle
    @mcsquirgle Před 2 lety

    Yeah thats interesting that petrified fish is doing this pivot washer swap system. I wonder if they can get away with it as long as they just dont call it "TRI-WAY"tm. But on the other hand cross bar style locks didnt start coming from other manufacturers - even though they had slight mechanical differences - untill the patent expired

    Cool looking knives. personally like the bigger one being i like larger knives and the fact that I'm a micarta fan and because u absolutely love front flippers. had my favorite fidgety knife walk away the other day at work and soo pissed about it. granted it wasnt a expensive knife being it was my Civivi Imperium with the jade scales but still pisses me off that someone snatched it off me. really happy though it wasn't my ZT 0562cf or my We Esprit that i usually have that wasnt taken. haven't stripped any screws as of yet but I somehow did have one go missing on my Viper Katla and believe me you it pisses me off everytime I pick it up to use it. one day I'll figure out the size of it and replace it. Lol

      @maxlvledc Před 2 lety

      K110 ONLY wins in edge retention by about 25%, 14c is way way tougher, easier to sharpen, and corrosion resistance is up there with M390

    • @wes.killed.it.5511
      @wes.killed.it.5511 Před 2 lety

      @@maxlvledc I mean it does technically have slightly better corrosion resistance but nothing spectacular.. K110 has 12-13% chromium while 14c28n has 14%. M390 has 18-19%. I have both the mini and full size, and the K110 outperforms the 14c28 all day. Granted I am not batoning or building a house with my blades, but the k110 is plenty tough with definite superior edge retention, and almost as corrosion resistant..

      just sand it down to raw metal; literally took 10 minutes to get it polished up. Trust me if you like the design and it's just the clip hindering the purchase, then just modify the clip.. It;s an extremely well made/attractive knife for the price, and if you look at the community and how many people are raving about them then it's surely done very well.
