    you missed a couple of key points.. the offset gas caps to clear the new dash trip reset... the neon orange dash sticker is the 72 style.. 71 was the true red... the 71 only brake pedal and linkage. the 72 boatail was only offered for the first few months and had the new style pedal... very nice superglide!!

    I personally like your fiberglass front fender also. It looks way better than the original one does.

    Nice FX, I had a 71 night train & miss it even though it leaked oil from the primary cover since new, I believe the chain oiler had a thing to do with it. Mine had a red, white, & blue number one on the tank & my two buddies bought a 72 glide & they had the fluorescent orange like you have, so I'm thinking mine might have been an early version & maybe later they switched to fluorescent. The 72's also had the AMF logo's on it & my 71 didn't.

    I had a 71 and it would crack right at the y where the exhaust pipes came together , the kicker would leak oil after awhile because the bushings wore out the , take the kicker cover off and the housing was cracked where the shaft went threw . the tank panel neon orange faded right away in the sun . the front fender supports were always breaking , the horn and kill buttons faded to white right away but Iloved that bike > I cant remember why I even sold it : (

    In one of your other Super Glide videos it has an AMF on the tank, did you replace the red decal?

    So directional signals (turn signals) were an additional $41.50 bucks?

  • @luisestebangarciamontejo8249

    Eh visto que este modelo no tiene direccionales ¿tampoco indicador de marcha?

    Hi WW, So what's it like running one of these motorcycles, any advice would be most helpful!!! 😎

    • @jdaugustin
      @jdaugustin  Před 7 lety +1

      Well, sometimes they don't want to start, they vibrate like a paint shaker going down the highway, the brakes are horrible, the front suspension sucks, the seat is hard and the riding position is less than comfortable....I can go on. But seriously, they are a blast to ride. It helps to be a bit of a mechanic so you can keep everything in good working order. If you take good care of things, you'll be treated right and have a fun experience.

    Nice video I just don't care for that rear tail on that bike I just bought a 2006 35th Anniversary that has the same paint job very low miles going to change the bars put a nice two into one bassani Road Rage 2 pipe relocate my blinkers I was going to club-style it out but I don't think I'm going to put the fairing on the front I'm not going with drag bars I think I'm going to go with some Chrome t-bars something in that Style going to Arizona bike week I'll find out then I'll be looking at all the stuff at the vendors what's nice about this Dyna is when I'm done with it you won't see too many like it I had a 2015 Street Bob and everybody had that same like the same color black with a fairing on it I sold it and I went to this one and when I'm done with this when I pull up I won't look like everybody else kind of like when you pull up on A Street Glide they all look basically the same

      Which is pretty much the opposite of what you should do with it.. The bike is a tribute to this guys FX. If you want a Big Twin to make your own, just get a Dyna (Heaven forbid) and change out the pipes, bars etc, like everybody else does. Duh. This is a real Shovelhead. It's been kept as near stock as possible. Thank gawd.

    • @jdaugustin
      @jdaugustin  Před 7 lety +3

      Don't shoot the messenger. That is right from the 1971 Brochure. "call it the night train". Printed 13 years before any softail even existed. I don't make this shit up.

      Winston Wolf I bought a '72 SG on the military buy program in Germany. never saw anything about "night train",but that doesn't mean anything. guess they revived it as well.my SG didn't have the boat fender & was black.loved it though.too bad it couldn't swim.

    • @jdaugustin
      @jdaugustin  Před 7 lety +2

      Ed Cargill if you look at my video about the fender, I show the 71 brochure that says night train. I looked at the 72 brochure and it also calls it a night train. I bet you wish you still had it!!

      Do your research El Flaco and you will see you are wrong. The Boattail was called the Nite Train.
