Mullet Fishing Ogmore River Wales.

Taught of going to fish for some mullet up by Ogmore river as there is loads of mullet that come in with the tide and move upstream.
you need to watch them and move along with them.
I have had days where they are a bit shy to go for the bait.
but this is what mullets are like

This is where I fish! There is a bridge a bit further upriver with a deep pool and I fish off it it’s called the dipping bridge and I catch brown trout, grayling and lots more there!

Fished there many times as a kid - saw loads of mullet - never caught one!

Hi 👋 yesh sire nothing fancy you can use any spinning , float or feeder rods for them.
Use ether 5 gram or 3 gram bobber float then put some split shots depending on the weight of float you are using so that the float stays buoyant on the surface then a size 8 or 6 hook .distance of the float from the split shot depends on how the mullet are feeding for example have a look if they are feeding on surface or slightly deeper accordingly adjust your float .
As for the line make sure its within the 0.20mm to 0.25 mm diameter as some times they are shy when using heavy lines .

Best time is during summer now is right Nd make sure u get there when the water is just coming in..as they come inside with the tide and quickly gonout with the tide.
