There may be extraterrestrial life in our solar system - Augusto Carballido

  • Is there extraterrestrial life in our solar system? Or are we alone? Take a journey to the ocean worlds on Jupiter and Saturn to investigate the possibility.
    --
    Deep in our solar system, a new era of exploration is unfolding. Beneath the thick ice of Europa; in the vapor plumes on Enceladus; and within the methane lakes of Titan, scientists are hunting for extraterrestrial life. These moons are ‘ocean worlds’- they contain liquid oceans, which can support the formation of life. Does life exist on ocean worlds? Augusto Carballido explores the possibility.

    Omg I wrote an essay on Enceladus for NASA’s scientist for a day contest. I had to pick from one of the three moons to write about.

    I'm disappointed that you didn't mention the 2001 Odyssey series, as it includes information about Europa and a fictional scenario about it. ;-;
    (It's still great though! 😘)

    I always wonder whether there are some life forms out there that are more smarter and advanced than us, and they’re just watching us.

    3:02, I realize it is just an animation, but there is so much wrong with drinking out of a cup through a straw, in space, after opening up your helmet.

    What about Ganymede. It has multiple layers of ocean with an active core and magnetosphere.

    I always wonder what lurks out in the vast cosmic sea of space. It is so vast and old, so you never know. There could be life out there, even intelligent life. People on other planets out there are probably wondering the same things we are wondering now about life out in the universe. Or maybe we're the first, or maybe we aren't. Both are equally terrifying.
