National MTB XCO Series RD 2 - Margam Park 2024

- The second round of the 2024 British National MTB XCO points series is upon us, and we headed to Wales to race a brutal course at Margam Park.
With lots of climbing and some super dry hot conditions, it made for a challenging race!
It was an awful race for me but there are always some positives and negatives to take from the weekend, but a lot more work to do.

To be fair on a hot day on a such a course and off the back of a bad cold/virus where your body is still recouping, finishing the race is a win. Keep it up lad.

Fair play for posting your not so good as well as your good. Don't sweat it, when the bambino arrives it'll put everhting into perspective, ie this stuff doesn't really matter. 👍

Mate how else will I get to see the rest of the race , I only get to stand in the pits and do the bottles at the top of the hill - how the hell you , Ben and Whippet actually rode it I will never know. There were lots of people suffering it was hot and steep and Luke's skinny as hell. Keep going - we all love the videos!
Great video mate. You did well and it was a brutal course, especially in that heat. Don’t retire yet! The vids are great motivation!
Margam is a tough, I always struggle there whether I do training or not! Chin up and on to the next one.
Brutal course with the amount of climbing and the heat made it even harder 😅

nice video GC, always good see the build up to the race - don't stress it in terms of race position on this one, just keep up the training, never give up and have fun on the bike - it'll come together next time - if not, so what? other things are more important now...just eat cake and smile!!

You might be plateauing now and don’t underestimate the added stress of a full time job and soon an addition to the family. Great effort getting out there still!
I think I am slowly learning this, the added work load of DIY and multiple other things the rocket has me doing definitely adds up 😅

the last down hill is the old school i was on this last year and this week its my last one.

Giorgio looks another great video but tbh I haven't finished watching yet. Simply I feel moved to comment that you gotta stop talking as though 30 is some old decrepit age son. That's only allowed when you hit 40 lol. I've never been to Margam. Looks better than I imagined. I am planning to race fun cat at Cannock. Might watch your race.
30 is old… compared to the youngsters I am racing 😜😂 but I agree it’s just one of my many poor excuses 😂
Don't stress about results . We have disappointing races. Remember people watch your channel for your character and entertainment. Where you finish doesn't matter so much.
Id rather watch you than some boring guy who wins every week.

You say the youth take it with speed. But when you turn 30 not so much. What are you going to do when you’re running the 50+ class like me. You can’t afford to take it slow you won’t get anywhere. Lol.
When I’m in the 50+ cat I would like to hope I’m at home with my feet up 😜😂 or I will be going slowly to keep my body in one piece 😂
