Just sworn in a couple days ago down at ATL MEPS. Been waiting on this moment for a while. I had to jump through hoops to get my morality waivers approved but it wasn’t impossible ! Just took a recruiter who believed in me enough to put in that work to get me and I’m forever grateful. Can’t wait to serve for my country ! Future 11B !! Love your videos by the way Chris you’re awesome !
I’m next and in atl as well can’t wait to serve just like you brother
@donbigaveli mind if I ask how old you are and what charges you had? I’m currently going through the same process where they have to have a couple morality waivers and apparently a moral letter of why I want to join etc.
Same man I mean I'm not 11B but the entire reason I enlisted to serve my country
What were the waivers for?
Same they just changed it from 2yrs to 90 days for adhd meds it was such a stupid rule but finishing up meps this week then I'm getting sworn in glad i got a good recruiter

2024 military requirements: Able to breathe
Yeah, pretty much with the low recruitment numbers.
yes
you can even get a waiver for that .
You're right!! Standards have seriously dropped!
I am currently at AIT so I can confirm that this is partially true. I had a female in my platoon that didn't do a single pushup and was defiant all cycle, still graduated. There were other individuals who were defiant and should have been kicked out but our drill sergeants said (toward the end of the cycle) that they couldn't kick them out because the Army needs numbers. I love my Army and my country but BCT was a joke.
Bless our military men and women 🙏🏾 🪖🎖️🙌🏾
Why? for keeping international bankers rich? They've never defended the United States of America. We are being invaded right now.
I did my ASVAB and eligible to enlist, now I’m waiting for my recruiter to do my waivers and hopefully everything goes through,

For me i had to take some tests that took in total 90mins to go in as a E-2 and a fitness test for E-3 which is cool some recruiters will help out with getting you in with a higher rank.. doesn’t hurt to ask
Huh, I didn't know that was even a possibility. I thought the only ways to start out with a higher rank was if you took 4 years of JROTC or had 45 college credits when enlisting. But it's good information to have!
The only problem with going in as an E-2 or E-3 is that you get less time to do "cool Army shit". From what I've been told, once you start hitting E-5 and above your opportunities for those began decreasing 'cause you're the one supervising, not getting to actually _do_ any of it. So if having more time for that is a person's goal, it would be in their best interest to start off as an E-1. People who enlist at an older age but wanna stay in for 30 years are in the same boat, thanks to the QMP (quality management program)...aka the 'up or out' policy requiring you to reach a certain rank within 20 years. Sure, starting out at a higher rank sounds like it'd put you ahead of the game...until you realize you'd be missing out on the experience people who began their careers as an E-1 have. It's the little things that can make or break you as you climb the promotional ladder. (At least, that's what my old man he said he saw happen time and again in the Air Force.)
Me personally, I think that program is the stupidest thing in the military ever came up with. You lose a lot of personnel with valuable experience that way. Not to mention there's plenty of people who either don't _want_ to be promoted to leadership positions or _shouldn't_ be in those. Imo, if somebody's happy being an E3 for their entire career, leave them be! Opens up a promotion slot for somebody who cares about making rank. Same thing applies to the officer corps; I've heard several stories of captains who were pissed off they had to choose between being promoted to a major or being forced to retire. What sucked is that some of those captains really enjoyed their jobs. Of course, that could be one of the reasons why majors tend to be salty too🤔

Good luck 🎉. You got this
8:18 I'm a civilian to OCS acceptee waiting for the basic training. Security clearance was a part of the packet. I couldn't even start a board interview without it. I also checked the USMA website, and you must be a citizen even to apply. It's usually considered common sense that one must be a citizen to become an officer, so I wonder why the website says green card holders can become officers... + I just checked ROTC, and you can apply to be in ROTC with a green card. But you must obtain citizenship by the time you start ROTC. And perhaps that's why the website is saying green card holders are eligible to become an officers. To be precise, green card holders are eligible to apply for the process of becoming a cadet through ROTC though they will have to be citizens before they become a cadet. So green card holders are technically eligible.

One of the things Christopher didn't mention was how recruiters tend to look at the whole picture. You can be the perfect person on paper and as far as moral character goes, but if they think you have a serious attitude problem or won't thrive for whatever reason, they can still tell you "no". On the flip side, if you're older than 35 but you're in really good shape, they may give you a waiver. Same goes if you happen to qualify for - and want - an MOS or AOC (jobs for enlisted personnel and officers, respectively) that's either unpopular or one the Army needs filled.
*Edited for a spelling error.
Last year, I met two 40 years old soldiers in the basic training. They both needed the age waiver.

In short. Your criminal history has to be more than 7 years ago. Be fit. Study algebra and basic geometry. You get your medical papers sent out and they will find an issue if there is one.
Not true I had stuff 17 years ago that still gets brought up.
@papi-champoo6033 what did you do🤣 I'm literally just reciting what my recruiter told me and what I read on the papers bro
It all depends on your recruiter, their chain of command, and who exactly is going to be reviewing the waiver. I had stuff from about 4-5 years ago when I was applying. It got approved pretty fast, because my recruiter is the GOAT. So yeah, there’s literal textbook guidance but people can and will bypass it on a case by case basis. Just depends on how honest the applicant is and if they can find a recruiter willing to work with them.

Soon to be 36 (april), bit out of shape, college degree (but in nothing useful). Still worthwhile to join?
If you can join as an officer then maybe.
If you can only join as enlisted, then no, at that age.
If you do then do guard or reserve instead of enlisting on active duty.
If you still insist on joining the military at your age, as enlisted at your age, and on active duty at your age, try to see if you can join another branch like the Air Force or the Space Force.
You don't want to be active duty enlisted Army at your age, trust me. I don't give a damn if you are in fantastic shape physically. Mentally, emotionally, the Army especially as enlisted, is way more of a young man's game than the other branches are.
Fuck around and find out.

@@generalinbox3740 I'm still in the Army, as enlisted and on active duty. I have been in for six years. I swore in in October of 2017. By the time I was done with my recruiter and meps and had swore in (took me like five months), I was a week before my 35th birthday, which at that point was the Army age cut off. The Air force then and I'm sure still now, is 39. I joined the Army because I was stupid. I did check the air force out by calling the recruiter but I got discouraged when he said you have to be at a certain weight. Looking back now, I should have physically talked to the Air force recruiter in person instead of that one phone call. I was overweight but passed the Army tape test. So I went with Army.
I didn't start regretting going army instead of air force until I was in AIT and had joint training with the navy and air force, and saw how much more the Army treated its people like little children. The navy is in the middle.
It's one thing knowing that you'll be treated like crap, but it hits different knowing you'll be treated even more like a little kid. No matter how old you are, and you're even quite older than some of the drill Sergeants are in AIT, if you're Army, you literally are not even allowed to go to the bathroom by yourself and have to have "battle buddies" and be marched around by drill sergeants everywhere, while you see some 19 or 18 year old air force kid is allowed to do so. It's one thing in basic training but it's another beyond that

You do not want to be combat mos. Sounds cool on paper till you're painting parking lot stripes. and laying out Connex because you have nothing else to do.
Pick a job that you can profit off of on the outside. Mechanic. Medical. Hell, even armorers get paid well on the outside.
No one, i mean no one, is going to care you were combat arms. Police departments wont care.
@@haywoodjablome7822Man, i’m just not that interested in that stuff. I scored a 76, good line scores. I thought about 35 series but really want to try out the “hard stuff”
i know, im dumb.
thanks for replying!
@@DCarloss i wouldnt listen to him. having infantry experience puts you way ahead in police department or other departments like that eyes. so many infantry vets go become cops, fbi, secret service etc. each job in the army will have its pros and cons. ive seen people score 90+ and still go infantry. its about what you want to do.
@@earliestburritoThanks for the comment.
Would you suggest 11x,19D, or 13f?
My father was a scout, turned sniper during the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. You know im a young guy, my ego wants to do better, you know? I just want to prove to my self i can be elite as he was. And to inspire people, as he did
@@DCarloss the army is phasing out 19D (cav scout).
Kessler Summit
I'm working on joining but I have a random civil case open case for court this November for an old collection I owed I take full responsibility for that will I still be able to join or what I can do thanks
You would need to talk to a recruiter about it but likly you will have to wait till that's taken care of because they don't usually let you join if you have pending court cases.
Hi! I just arrived in the US last December 2023 and I'm here as a permenent resident. I am pretty much interested in enlisting in the US Army and is already set on a specific MOS(11B). Do I have to be a US citizen for 11B? Thank you.
you should be able to join the army alsong as you have your green card.

I'm assuming you are referring to "big army" we had ppl 41 in my pltn
I'm deaf in my right ear. Am I Able to join And will I be effected by my disablement in my ear?
I think that will disqualify you but always best to check with a recruiter about it.
If I obtain a tourist visa and can enter American territory, can I join the army?
Fear is never needed to know Ecstasy and to feel fear once more is thee ultimate betrayal hahahahahhhee
Go army 🎉
Hi Chris:
They now call it M.E.P.S. Someone I know, enlisted in 1978, at that time they called it A.F.E.E.S. Have you herd of that?
Those are 2 different things. MEPS is where people go to do their physical and everything to make sure they qualify to join the military. AAFES is an Army and Air Force store for shopping and gas stations.
