That is so nice to see that the rescued fawn is all grown up now as the rescue video is one of my all time favourite videos here on CZcams :-) Thank you for those awesome videos. Greetings from Austria.
your videos are great, it's like taking a look at heaven, I guess during paleolithic man used to have pacific links with animals like you have... by the way the music is great too! thanks
i have been hunting deer for 20yrs and watched deer do many things in the woods...yet i am in awe of their relaxed behavior with you..truly a beautiful thing to watch them in your yard.
Our small remote rural development was built with an eye towards not disturbing the regular migration routes of the local deer. We are not allowed to build perimeter fences, for example, so the deer can roam freely. Hunting is not allowed, so after 40 years of homes being in their territory, the deer have become something like the deer in Nara Park in Japan - but not quite so friendly - our deer are much more discerning. If you don't walk or move around them in a manner they find acceptable, they will quickly run off to another green yard to nibble on - they are masters at observing body language. They are also all very much individuals. We've been here 16 years, and there have always been one or two deer in the herd who seem to think we are cool to hang out with. These are usually the alpha males and females - they tend to be the smartest and most adventurous. The other deer in the herd tolerate us being around them because they watch the signals from the alphas. As long as we don't look directly at any of our local deer for more than a half a second, we can walk inches away from them and they won't flinch, much in the same way a jackrabbit or a family of quail will run right next to them, and they don't care. Most deer are a lot more aware and intelligent than people give them credit for. Yeah, they can't figure out headlights and a speeding car that is traveling faster than the sound it makes - that's too much outside of their understanding of how things generally move in nature, but for the most part, being large prey animals, they need to be very aware of their surroundings, and honestly, they are often better visitors than a lot of the humans who stop by.
You should offer retreats. I would love to spend a day, a few days or a week in nature with your deer and wildlife. I live in rural Ohio and we do have deer come in to our yard. Our deer are wild and on high alert from hunters.. not the same as the deer in your videos.

@@epistte a raccoon wouldn't _hunt_ a deer, wouldn't try to kill it to eat it, but just like any other animal, they have different personalities. As a fawn, Rosie may have encountered an ornery raccoon who got mean with her for no other reason than she got too curious about it and got too close.
+Rebecca H. Yes, she is. She's getting very old for a wild deer. She turned 13 this year. Even though she's old and not as fast or assertive as she once was, and she currently has a sore ankle and a limp, still the other deer respect her as the elder. Two other deer are vying for her position in the herd. We'll see how that goes. We'll be very sad when she's gone.
+Pelorian Pages I will be too, you know what would be great at least in my eyes, when she eventually does pass on you should make a funeral video so when we see it we know to honor the deer who took good care of the herd that is if possible, that would be very nice.😊❤️
Pelorian Pages If Eva really likes you (seems to me she does) she might reincarnate back as a fawn to be w/ you again once she's gone. :-) Animals have souls and they too reincarnate just like we human souls do. You two - the couple - might have that high vibration soul that resonates w/ these deers, which might be why you could attract them to your yard.
Sorry hit the wrong button.... rest of prev. a forester found one now without a mother when I was growing up. If we chased them they would run, but if we ran from them they chased us. It all ended when no one ran. They came back for a few years and then stopped, but without even selecting ours were bucks so you can guess what happened, but not by us.
Usually, and that's probably why Rosie seems so pissed off at them. However, it's not uncommon to see raccoons during the day, they are just a lot more active at night.
Pelorian Pages Ah ok. I was always told that whenever a usually nocturnal creature is out during the day then they might have rabies. Dunno if its true or not. Beautiful video. I love deer so much. Lil forest puppies😍
You would think so, given her dominance, but actually she was really 2nd or 3rd in line. Two other older deer were competing for pack leader, while Rosie seemed like a lieutenant in charge of raccoon wrangling.

Your videos are like meditation.. All my stress and negative energy go away..

I love your videos. Love all these beautiful critters.
Great job, anytime you can get 2 or more different creatures together it's worth tapping very Nice!!!

have you thought about putting salt bars in the yard ? the deers would really appreciate that !
We have a couple salt blocks in the yard. Thanks for the thought!

Another lovely video. :)
I wonder if a raccoon would harm a newborn fawn, and that's why Rosie is so protective. She's a smartie.
A racoon would not harm a deer. They just want to eat and sleep.

So there are two Rosies. One that survived a terrible cut and now a new Rosie that was once rescued from a hole. Hmmm.
Navaro Palm Yes, two Rosies. Rosie who survived the bad cut was old at the time, but lived for another two years. New Rosie was named after her.

Aren't Raccoons nocturnal?
