- Sophia is 10 and a half months old, and we have both worked hard to get where we are today. Here we are working on her training in the yard, including the basics sit down stand stay come and bark. Also I teach her to pull and bark on the leash to recieve release to get the ball. The guarding at the fence is when the ball goes out of bounds. I figure that can be useful to teach her the command to bark and watch something. The bite work on the rope is to teach the bite and out command. She is a family raised dog, raised with small children and cats, and has a great disposition.She is a great dog, with a long ways to go. It is very important for this breed to have training and stimulation because they can get bored. They love having something to do, and Sophia shows that here.

anyone wanting to know how to train your dog, its simple really, all you need it time and patience, its a everyday job, and its best to start when they are puppies, main thing is to never give up, or get mad at the dog, they can sense your feelings, just be constant and always praise and give a treat when the dog does what you asked. also when in the beginning of training try to eliminate all distractions just you and the dog

I can't wait to teach my puppy how to do this! He's about 2-3 months old, my dad was thinking of giving him away because he was always biting and not listening. I told my dad that he's probably just teething and doesn't know better and that I would take him instead of giving him away to a shelter. Your Sophia is one beautiful dog. Way to go on the wonderful training!

You should be very proud of yourself and Sophia! I can see you have put a lot of time into her to get her to the level she is, so far. I must look at you other clips on here later to see how she's come along. It wonderful seeing people spending time to get their dog to an excellent level of obedience. I am on my 3rd Rottie and can't love the breed enough! I have been using reward based training and am getting great results.

I'm thinking about getting one, I have experience with dog training from when I was about 16 I did it with my family dog (german shepherd) but I know have 2 kids of my own and am very devoted to training a male rotty, this was a great video and gave me some tips thank you :)

I am truly amazed by this! I also am planning to get a rottweiler puppy when the summer starts (because then I can spend as much time as possible at his early age) However, Ive also been doing a lot of research but I feel like no matter how much research I do it never is enough. Therefore I was wondering how you got your rottweiler do all these things by obedience? If you could give me some advice i'd really appreciate it. Thank you.

In my opinion- I have 2 wonderful rotts - they are very easy to train,it looks like they can read your mind. I mean I don't have to talk or anything.
How long/frequent your training sessions were to get her so well behaved? Being so motivated to work for you with play as the main reward is nice to watch!

Your doing a great job, do you place the tennis ball outside the fence to teach her to attack anything that crosses that line. Is that also the reason you have her bark, and then attack it. I think I can Learn Alot for you

ever since my friends rottweiler treated him like god and literally dragged me off of him when we were play fighting, I have always wanted one. if i get a dog it will be a rottweiler, or a bull dogg like the one in van wilder.

1.) when is the right/apt time to spay a rottweiler.
2.) is it mandatory to do so ? what are the disadvantages if not done so.

so its advisable to spay instead of not doing so.. and the best time to spay would be around 5-6 months, (that would be her first heat right ?)

hi there again, i got a couple more questions to ask you again if you dont mind..
So, ive finally decided to go for a female rottweiler and would probably be getting it the next month, and therefore ive been looking around for good breeders and such..
1.) Now ive been told that rottweilers during the puppy phase are prone to something dangerous called as "parvo virus" which is deadly apparently..
-> and the risk is high when you already have another dog at your home..
-> in this case, i already have a 5 year old female pug at home.
what would you say about this particular issue and how do i go about it ?
2.) I understand that sophia is an american rottweiler, but here, in the place i live in, the breeders seem to only separate rottweilers from a standard rottweiler and a heavy bone rottweiler.
-> same is with german shepherds, etc.
how do i identify a proper rottweiler, or rather what to ask the breeder what im looking for ?

I can say its one very , very , very well trained Rottweiler. But I can also say that it is not so handsome rottie , had bad marks and also really light eye color , however you should love your pet as he is :)

u have some type of money if you can afford to live in a apt in NY that cost more than any house i know in ohio.. no lie, i have a 4 bedroom nice house remodeled and all 3 floors and i pay 550 a month in rent, and no its not government this is full rent. even a house like in this video i would say cost less than anything in NY. so my suggestion is to move out the city lol

i pay 5,500 for a 2 room loft and a small balcony, Its Okkey but. I been looking to buy a house in michigan with 250 acres its real nice. And the price is pretty good. Getting out the city soon lol
