    Things I love about rotties:
    They are gentle
    They are strong
    They protect

    Bash. There are many varieties of Rottweilers. Show lines, English lines, Working lines. This dog isn't skinny. That is how he is built. He could easily gain more weight, but it would not benifit him to be heavier. He is an agile, working dog and is perfect at what he does. He will live a long, happy life at this weight.

    Thats why i love rottweiler. They are very quiet even when they mean business. There are plenty reports of criminals on a property that they didnt even knlw had a dog. After breaking in they never heard a sound until they got ripped into out of nowhere. My rottie almost never barks even at strange people. He just gets in alert mode and is ready to guard at any time.

    When my Rottie was young, my young daughter kept talking about "We are gonna get Bear Intruder Training." In her mind this entailed running on a treadmill and teaching him when/how to attack. He is a little over a year now, and no Intruder Training needed, he just inherently knows how to guard his people. We just have to work daily on how to be a "good" boy. Basic obedience and not doing just whatever he wants. He can be very stubborn. Great video, lovely boy.

    rotties are the ultimate protection dogs and I mean it I did tons of research and all I needed was the strength of a mastiff and agility/ferocity of a dogs like gsd or doberman and rotties have it all. No cane croso no borboel no English mastiff.

      I agree, but only bc of the training there doing. I have nothing against the collar, I used one in my rottie. Your basically punishing the dog for doing what you want him to do.

    • @Slimchancemyguy
      @Slimchancemyguy Před 4 lety +1

      David Harris the collars are great. If you're trying to have him alert whilst heeling, there are different ways to teach it. If you are trying to be consistent with collar and corrections, which is perfectly fine, you should have a separate leash connect to an agitation collar or harness. If you are going to correct, deliver it properly, quick and effective. You are being unclear to this dog and it is very obvious. I understand this is an old video. Just another, better educated opinion for you. You cannot charge so much for mediocre training.

      I'm the same as you mate i live in the u.k and want to set off and live in the hills. I have a 17 month old female Rottweiler. I have had many breeds through out my existence but non come close to the Rottweiler. First things first when getting one it's crucial as soon as its able to be taken for walks socialise it with as many other dogs an humans as possible while it's still a puppy. So it develops social skills so it knows how to react round humans and dogs in certain situations. It will pick on peoples behaviour and know if someone's acting dodgy. You want to establish that you are the pack leader so you have to be calm and assertive because this dog will test you if you don't put it in its place then it could become a burden and potentially dangerous. Unless you want to train it to attack on demand your rottie will naturally protect you its in its nature to. Just give it love, training and plenty of exercise.

    • @protectiondogsalesPDS
      @protectiondogsalesPDS  Před 6 lety +3

      No. Only if you had a dog so weak that they would be upset by a minor correct. In that case the dog isn't a candidate for protection training anyway. Imagine a bad guy only using the kindest of words in his attack :) Perhaps a nice pet or two on his way to kill you.

    • @alexiswilloughby9131
      @alexiswilloughby9131 Před 5 lety +6

      Yes. The prong in this training exercise is wrong. That’s not what this collar is for. A prong collar is used to teach a dog to heal and walk properly. This will only teach your dog to be timid in protecting you. This video/owner is a result of Someone wanting to protection train their dog, yet have no clue how to.
      If you can’t get your dog to release or listen, even when training to “protect,” then you are a weak owner with a poorly trained dog.

      brandon beck That would depend on the dog, your situation, the kind of help you can get in your area. As long as it is done properly protection training is safe and fun for you and your dog. Stay away from police or military types of training and you'll be fine. Keep it fun and prey driven with lots and lots of control. You NEVER want a dog to act aggressively out of fear. That is hard to control and to predict.

    • @protectiondogsalesPDS
      @protectiondogsalesPDS  Před 4 lety

      It is weird. I agree. We do it with certain dogs for very specific reasons and then move past once the issue is resolved. With this dog he would not bark on a harness or flat collar. He would just pull and choke himself out. We didn't raise this dog from a puppy. His former owner past away and we inherited him. We teach our young dogs totally different and it's easy to do when you raise them yourself.

    shaking their head can be because their ears are itchy inside, make sure you clean them properly.

    looking for how to video on what to do when attacked by dog , not finding good , best would be a guy in strong suit against real attack .

    • @protectiondogsalesPDS
      @protectiondogsalesPDS  Před 6 lety

      Probably the reason you are not finding that video is that the situation would vary wildly case by case. I can tell you from 30 years of full time experience training protection dogs that 99% of all dogs on this planet will not attack a target that is not moving. It is VERY hard to do, but if you can stand your ground the vast majority of dogs will not attack. I suggest that if you feel this threatened by a dog in your community that you reach out to the authorities and see what can be done. If this dog doesn't harm you he/she will most certainly harm someone else, most likely a child.

      a big rottweiler or mix is very cruel acting to me on a bike with a beard big, once came behind owner by path was startled dog saw it hates me since , think he is old, police called in worst cases , dog institution contacted a few times even got a call after no answers by mail then complain higher up but no change, mouth guard would solve all. also mail paperroute woman friend deals with dogs found a few ok videos hold bag in front and keep shaking it he bites holds walk back and dont stop breathing from stress. l think it was supposed to be let them bite arm walk forward knees on rear hold down elbows jabs in ribs can break lay him sideways first , ok stand still will tell her, heard it before.backing slowly is recommended elsewhere

    Also, we will (my boyfriend and I) will be getting an RV, so would like a dog that travels well. Must be ok with other animals in close quarters, as we may get a travel trailer, and you can't be in the trailer while it's in motion.
