- This week we finally get the keys for our dream home in Florida, Join us as we move in and start to make it feel like home. Zara and I also have an afternoon out at Universal Studios & Islands Of Adventure. We also try out Trader Joes for the first time.

I dont nnow how you popped up but its nice to see some new vloggers and love that You are from UK. I lived there for 3 years. Hubby is military and we got to experience it all during Covid. We have a few years left ans will be making our way near you all for retirement. I cant wait to finally be in our dream location near Disney ❤️❤️ Would love to vlog too but super nervous 🤣

Good luck in your new home. A lot of hotels and homes in the US have hand held steamers in steamed of irons. But they don’t do everything do they.
Thanks for watching. I’ve managed to get a steam iron now from Amazon in the end, my hubby had to take the steamer away with him for his shirts! Wouldn’t life be better if we just all accepted creased clothes 😂

Your house is lovely and you are very lucky. We love Florida and go again in September for 3 weeks. Normally we stay at a villa which a friend owns in Davenport but this year we are staying on-site and not hiring a car. Last year the I4 was so busy it was taking so long to get anywhere.
Love the Epcot cookie jar, I managed to get one back to the UK the year before last and keep eggs in mine 😂😂😂

How has your build process with Pulte Homes been? Any issues?
I loved Trader Joe’s :-) everything I bought was yummy so it’s defo worth the little drive for a top up x
We have found them really easy to work with and are very happy with everything. Our site manager was amazing and he sent us weekly updates when we were still in Qatar, I really felt he went above and beyond through the whole thing. Hopefully nothing goes wrong from now 🤞🏼
I think that sounds really reasonable for all that food- especially when everyone says how much more expensive groceries are in USA!
me too I was suprised at the prices in there, I’ll defo go again. The Orange chicken is yummy!! So close to universal too so if you were staying there it’s probs walking distance x
You mean how expensive food is in Florida. When we go to our home there, we spend at least 150.00 more than in Texas.
@@lauriesmith5008 oh really, so Trader Joe’s is more expensive in Florida or all supermarkets here? I’ve just moved from Qatar so I think the prices are more or less the same as there, I haven’t been shocked by anything yet! X
@@Katiesfloridalife yes, we have a store called H‑E‑B. THEY ARE SO MUCH CHEAPER than Publix.
My wife and I hope to do the whole snowbird thing when we retire. New England is too cold in the winter and Florida is too hot in the summer.
Best of both worlds!!! It is starting to get really hot here during the day but we’ve come from Qatar and nowhere is as hot as the Middle East 😅
Your house is beautiful 🥰 more up to date than mine was & better for not having a pool……..it was a nightmare keeping it healthy and so costly when heater needed replacing !! Also, the back of the house faced one of the fairways, so golf balls often went through the screens, which was costly too 🤦🏼♀️

Trying to think of places I’ve been to I’d also recommend for you to visit. Sarasota is nice, also St Augustine too. The drive from AMI down to St Armands Circle and Sarasota is lovely and a great place for sunsets.
Locally, have you been to a celebration ? As is a fantastic place, especially at Halloween and Christmas. The houses are beautiful and they really go to town decorating them for these two times of the year.
Aw thank you, yes we wanted to buy a new build so it was modern, too many Orlando homes that were built in the 70s and are very dated, we’re also not DIY people!!!
We have so many places on the list to try, my mam and dad have been to st Augustine and said it’s lovely so we will defo try it.
I’m going to try and include as much decorating and home improvements as I can, I still can’t believe that people are interested in my little boring life 😂😍 xx

Are you going to have a back garden at some point or is it all open plan for everyone?
We can have it fenced in if we apply to the HOA for approval but don’t think we will, we don’t have a dog or small children so we don’t need to. I’m enjoying looking at the trees and not a fence for now :-) and also I get bitten every time I’m watering the grass so I wouldn’t want to sit on it 🤦🏼♀️
Is your property in a HOA area? If so can you give some info on that please and some tips on purchasing a house there
Yes it is, it’s the first time we have lived in a HOA area so we will see how it goes. I will definitely mention in my next couple of videos about buying the home :-)

We are just near Davenport. It’s always been my dream to move to Orlando, been coming here for 30 years on holiday :-) getting a green card was never in the plans but things changed a few years ago and I knew it had to be here ❤️
Is Black and Grey a trend in England? I live in Orlando in a traditional Florida Spanish style home with color. Not a fan of black and grey and the new homes that are being built now
I’m not sure what’s in trend to be honest but I’ve just come from a brown filled home in Qatar so the bright walls are refreshing but it does need some colour for sure!! X

A pool defo isn’t in the budget at the min 🤦🏼♀️ we have a beautiful pool about 5 doors down on the complex so we will be making the most of that for now :-)

How did your daughter feel about moving from Quatar will she miss her friends? What happens with her schooling do u have to pay or does she get free education? 😊
She's been an expat kid all of her life so at the moment she's taking it in her stride. Unfortunately the local schools are full here so we will be paying for education. x
