When Hansi sings "I found our destination" it's quite reminiscent of the Age of Shadows chorus. I like that subtle nuance that Arjen does that spans all of his albuns.
So we get an amazing Paul Gilbert solo, followed immediately by Floor Jansen...dude, are you trying to KILL us with awesome? Seriously :)

Because Hollywood and TV suck and seem allergic to awesome ideas. They sometimes slip up and let one through, but it's getting rarer. Thank goodness for books and folks like Arjen.

OK wait a minute. I found my old ayreon album (01011001) and started to listen to old songs yesterday, I remembered today how I loved another album that I don't physically own, so I searched ayreon on CZcams and saw really recent uploads. Is this a new album???!?? With Hansi again as well? Oh my god I loved both of them in Ayreon songs I'm so excited I need to check it out. What a great coincidence this was!

i think this is more star one than star one is. if this had been an actual tv show or movie. gilbert's awesome solo reminds me of something i can't place, but it couldn't have been so great without the song you gave him to play over.

Straight from Almah - Beyond Tomorrow LOL.. jokes aside, the base guitar for the solos in this song is quite similar to the main riff here.
It's nice to hear that there are also vocalists that don't scream their lungs out as well :) So much more dynamic! One does not need to scream to be a good singer :)

The drill it's strong in this solo haha. Paul Gilbert it's one of my favourites musicians and now hear him playing with my favourite band it's an amazing experience, my brain has melted.

The lyrics mirror Atlantis, as well as when Humans had to leave MARS because of an environmental cataclysm we caused. Humans are visiting the themes that we grappled unsuccessfully with in Atlantis; and like your lyrics say, we have saved our race more than once before by letting many more of us die (be left behind). I still struggle with piecing this together, only because No One alive can or will Ever 'die' (unless sent to the Central Sun for soul recycling, ...but this is an extreme step rarely taken, is the impression I have gotten). I guess the answer to my struggle is the fact that many former Atlanteans are walking the Earth today -- and they .. many of them... are shattered by revisiting a pending cataclysm that is altogether beneath our waking consciousness(es), if you will. There is more to say. I may come back and edit this to add more. Blessings to All.

I can't stop listening to this album. Hard to say for sure after only two weeks of owning it, but there is a very real chance it is my favorite album of all time. My previous favorite was The Human Equation, haven't gone more than 6 weeks without listening too it all the way through since it was released. The Source seems like it is going to demand my attention even more often. Incredible work as usual for Arjen.

Random info: Even if this story is set in the Andromeda galaxy, the Start of Sirrah, formally know as Alpha Andromedae, centuries ago also known as Delta Pegasi, is 97 light years from earth
Earth isn't involved in this part of the concept at all.
That's interesting. I wonder if that was intentional. Seems unlikely storywise that they couldn't find a habitable planet closer and had to travel to a different galaxy.
Impossible not to like this production, it would be much more crazy to see a show in Brazil with Arjen

Just got home to find my 2CD+5.1 DVD signed copy of The Source has arrived - definitely the best Ayreon so far imho... loving the big guitars in Surround Sound! Awesome!!!
Four minutes and ten seconds into it, all I could think was "I'm SO ready".. how you can keep up since ITEC is amazing.. I became a fan before TToE and when it was released in 2013 it became my 2nd favourite album EVER! Amazing to hear you live up to your high standards Arjen!
This really has the potential to be my new favorite Ayreon album (currently its 01). I swear it feels like Arjen was skimming through my iPod and was like "ok, that singer.....that one....ooh that one too....oh I like him....gotta have her.....oh yea, him too!"
