- Official lyric video for 'Run! Apocalypse! Run!' from the Ayreon album 'The Source' which is out now!
Order: lnk.to/Ayreon
LYRICS:
Run! Apocalypse! Run!
[The Opposition Leader:]
Outside this hall, abuse and assault, a cold-blooded war rages on
We're leaving today, I'll lead the way, our perilous journey's begun
[The Astronomer:]
Crime and violence corrupting the heart, society's falling apart
All our nations are lost in this cruel holocaust, so run!
[TH1:]
Run, run, run, run, apocalypse!
[The President:]
Anarchy reigns, chaos remains, we need to get out while we can
No sign of the 'Frame, we are to blame for the final destruction of man
[The Biologist:]
Alliances spark down there in the dark, the underworld's coming alive
I see raiders and thieves marauding the streets, now run!
[TH1:]
Time is running out above your heads, above the stars.
Stop right.
It's clearly now your only viable solution.
Go now! Run!
[The Captain:] Run! Apocalypse! Run! Our time is running out and the damage is done
[The Prophet:] Run! Apocalypse! Run! The seven seals of hell have been broken, the devil has won
[The Captain:] Run, the countdown is on, the final hour has come now the end has begun
[The Prophet:] Run! Apocalypse! Run! Our souls are forsaken, our faith has been shaken, it's time to awaken
The devil has won
[The Historian:]
It's break of day, we're crawling our way down through the tunnels below
Then just like he said, there's light up ahead, only a few miles to go
We run down the valley and up to the hills, where Starblade's awaiting on high
We all climb aboard, charting our course, we're alive!
[TH1:]
Coordinates are set, fire up the jets, wipe away the sweat, repress all your regrets
Power up - throttle down - safety check..? ah no time! Hold onto your heads...
We're bound for Sirrah's Eye!
[The Prophet:]
Run! Apocalypse! Run!
Our souls are forsaken, our faith has been shaken, it's time to awaken
The devil has taken everything we love

Arjen's discography would do an amazing series of movies.
Could you imagine the sceneries wow...
@@brownielion7342 Ayreon, trying to convince king Arthur, and Merlin from visions he can't fathom. The last man alive on a colony Mars. The forever futuristic cities shutting down while the machine armies attack. The forever inside their liquid eternity chambers, dreaming, and reshaping themselves into the human race..
So many stories can be made from this material. It's a shame Hollywood doesn't hunt for talent nowadays. They just stick to their algorithm on what makes them money, rinse, and repeat.
@@JoTheVeteran Yes it is a shame that great (alternative) stories and great musuc wiil not make it to the big screen... I hear tho that Arjan is working in the background to come up with funding to get Transitus made... if he starts crowdfunding I wiil donate for sure 🤟🤩🤟
@@brownielion7342 me as well!
@@brownielion7342 Thing is, it takes SO much money to fund a film, or an animation. Most creators think they can get the ball rolling with a few episodes, then fund the next ones with the profits from those made from the crowdfunder.
What actually happens is, they run out of money, rush project, present it unfinished, no one buys it. It happened countless times already.
Unfortunately, you need those big budget hollywood investors, and they will certainly mess with your artistic freedom. When they do, your project is doomed.
What I don't get, is why no one uses anime companies instead. They work fast, and efficiently, and produce way more minutes of screen time per dollar, as opposed to any western company.
This song should have been called "The fourth extinction"
Good thinking, Alexander!
Your awake
Or when a county votes for demorats
the most real thing about this video is that everyone else got cool titles like "The Chemist" and then Ed was just... "Drums"
3:12
Every track is killer. Probably my new favorite Ayreon album so far.
Tommy Karevik never fails to blow me away.
agreed, definitely one of the best singers of the generation!
Fowo he fre and bb.
WERE BOUND FOR SIRRAH'S EYE! Mills' voice is cataclysmic as usual.
Tristan Apperley *googles "cataclysmic"* ahh cool thanks Tristan
dude when you do such things, you're indeed a vocal superhuman :) keep it up!
He is the best singer on the album for me, together with Tommy Karevik (Opposition Leader), Nils K. Rue (Prophet), Michael Eriksen (Diplomat), Hansi Kürsch (Astronomer) and Tommy Rogers (Chemist).
If you haven' t, you should check out What Kind Of Creature Am I? by Toehider, it was uploaded on Mike' s yt, and then you can buy it in his shop.
Thruought the album, I started liking Hansi's voice more and more, I had no idea he was a god...
Mike Mills must actually be a robot, no human should be able to have that much talent
Lucas Lalonde hah cool, thanks Lucas :)
You even responded! What a good day, can't wait for Toehider 2017 :)
He is one with the Frame
Mike Patton???
Much of what is offered to people these days relies less on the artist's talents/vision than the tools to make it seem so. I've always appreciated that Arjen searched for (and got) the best and brightest to bring his vision to life. There are no studio manufactured stars here only honest to goodness artists with real talent and the results are stunning.
ayreon needs to make this story either a Movie or a insanely high-budget mmorpg
One of my favorites from the album. So glad you're making all these lyric videos. I feel like no comment I can make can express how much I loved this album and this song in particular so I'll just settle for that.
Kuutamo13 Awesome album. I can't stop listening to it. Love it more and more each time.👍
You know an album is a great album if after listening to it more than 10 times, you still don't quite know which of the songs is your favorite because there's so much to choose from.
If I have to pick though .. this one or Everybody Dies.
March of the Machines, mate.
I cannot bring myself to call March of the Machines a song, and so won't allow myself to pick it as a favorite, but it's definitely the most badass outro ever, the most amazing, frightening, and foreboding thing in music, and, thus, the best track on the album. I may be exaggerating here, but I'm in love with it.
Death Cry of a Race and Sea of Machines if I was forced to chose, but there isn't a bad track on the album.
Only complaint I have against the album is that March of the Machines isn't a 10 minute epic.
I think Sea of Machines may be my favorite, but I also absolutely love the harmonizing from Simone and Floor on All That Was... it really is hard to choose!
WAY BEYOND honored to have worked on this video and also the chance to bring Arjen's music to life! As well as on Sirrah and Everybody Dies.
wayne joyner the videos are really great!
When I'm watching them I'm visioning all the singers and a the musicians on a big stage playing this kind of "musical", but not much acting, with your videos on a BIG screen in the background. 😍
I'm envisioning the singers in a movie playing their parts. I know...it'll never happen, but I can dream.
Definitely one of my favorites from this truly amazing album. For me one of the high points is that moment (around 1:54) when Tobi starts the chorus. That first 'Run!' - I feel it's just a millisecond shorter than many of the preceding/following 'Run!'s and that manages to communicate the urgency of the situation in a terrific way. I literally feel the need to escape something dreadful while listening to this. That is just mind-blowing!
Definitely my favorite song from the album I just love the fast pace and how you can feel their desperation.
Yeah, the way the melodies really convey the situation is phenomenal
After three years, I've only now recognized the Elite Dangerous reference at 4:30
Another major bonus to this already amazing song
Epic space metal AND Elite Dangerous?
I'm having some serious chills rn
Petition to add "Sirrah" to Elite: Dangerous
If we do we gotta add Planet Y out there somewhere.....BENEATH THE PALE MOON LIGHT
Do you find "Destination Station" somewhere?
yeah. In the training sims.
mhhh training sim are changed since I start play it in early 2015, but I try some of the sim training mission but didn't find it
Josh Wight In our universe a star called Sirrah is located in Milky Way, in Andromeda constellation.
This is better than dream theaters new album.
OMG this is f*cking incredible! We need to develope this album into full sci-fi Universe with fandom etc...
Ayreon is a full sci Fi universe. This is a direct prequel to his timeline
I just love this song, the chorus between Sammet and Rue (my two favourite guests) is absolutely amazing ! And the artwork is beautiful too, I'm impatient to have the earbook in my hands !
Arjen i love you, and this type of lyrics video too! Thank you for all
Greetings from Italy
The story of the source reminds me of the game horizon. Where robots take over and destroy the world. But this album baecame special with lots of talent in one album
Michael Mills....these acapellas are more than mindblowing...man how...
Totally agree... Every single one involved in this album is absolutelly amazing, but Michael Mills overtakes, in my opinion. In many ways, his work here is pure artistry. I think he's the Great Star in this album, just after the great Genius Mr. Lucassen, of course. I really love Russel Allen, Hansi Kursh and Floor Jansen too, but Mr. Mills got my heart.
Exactly this !
You don't find everywhere that kind of elements(acapella) in metal music, that's why it stands out the most too imo :')
Achilles A. ahhh thanks guys. I reckon everyone did an amazing job on this record though and its mindblowing how well received it is. NUMBER ONE ON THE DUTCH ALBUM CHARTS!!!
You all did awesome, that's the least you had to expect :'')
For me, too. he is the best, together with Hansi Kürsch, Tommy Rogers, Tommy Karevik, Nils K. Rue and Michael Eriksen.
Wow, I love how ayreon never drops the top notch quality. Superb.
So... run?
I love everything about The Source, easily top 3 on my book. This is Ayreon through and through.
Same here. Pushed out Human EQ from my top 3, as it feels more "true" to the playful Ayreon sound since Final Experiment and ITEC. (Still love Human EQ, the best lyrics Arjen wrote on an Ayreon album, but it's not as playful/unpredictable as Theory, The Source and ITEC imo).
Every time I hear this song I just cry.
I am seriously in love with this song! Listening to it over and over. Can't stop.

this is one of my favorites of the album. michael mills' parts are so good.
Mehmet Karaca ahh thanks a lot! :)
I only just heard of Aeryon recently and I'll be honest, I kinda just came here for Tommy. But holy shit! These beautiful epics are so complex and satisfying, and that they tell a story without making it confusing! Pure. Damn. MAGIC. I love the range of singers as well. It can appeal to everyone that way! You go Arjen!!!
"We're bound for Sirrah's Eye" - this is an example of Doppler shift.
It's been 2 years (wow time is passing really fast, I remember how I was waiting for this album like it was yesterday) and I'm still listening these songs! Awesome.
I keep telling myself "just one more time... just one more time..." and now I'm late for work.
...well, once more won't hurt
Fun fact: The heads up display from 4:30 to 4:36 is taken straight out of Elite: Dangerous. You can even see the game version in the bottom left corner.
One of my favorite tracks from the album, all the vocals sound incredible.
Great prequel stories like this make me wonder why people dislike spoilers. Any Ayreonaught knows full well what becomes of these folks, but it doesn't prevent us from enjoying it.
I probably shouldn't put it on my driving play list.
these lyric videos are the best thing ever
thank you!!!
I love you Sr. Arjen, tanks for chance my perspective of my life 🙇🏾♂️🙏🏽
YES! My favorite song from the album
Ed totally kills it!
Oh man...this is amazing. Everytime I listen this masterpiece I got chills from head to toes.
Oh fuck, my favorite song from the album! YAY!
Finally, another Synthie-Arpeggio-Solo. We need more of those.
Arjen, Is that footage from Elite Dangerous I see there??
Cheeky cheeky.
hit me up if you play . CMDR: Buffaloguy1991
Wouldn't put it past him. He's used game footage before from System Shock and other titles in earlier videos (namely EPolice).
hawkwreak this is a good song for exiting stations
So the Starblade is a sidewinder :)
God help them
Hit me up. CMDR: Buffaloguy1991
Sidewinder going backward
This entire album is genius!
I can't believe Mike's vocals. Just wow. Like a reincarnation of Freddy Mercury. He even does Kate Bush's Wuthering Heights in the original key. Why have I never heard of him before he appeared on the previous Ayreon album? This guy should be selling out shows all over the world.
He has appeared in the previous Ayreon album "The Theory of Everything" as the Father.. Quite a big role actually..
What an amazing powerfull bombastic song!!
One of my highligts in 2017
Oooh, I am so happy this is a thing! Do one of these for "Deathcry of a Race" next!
This album will never stop blowing my mind *.*
Love this album! Great job everyone!
how the hell have i not heard of any of this until now this is immaculate
These always blow me away Arjen! Thanks for another lyric video. :D
Wow, I'm still goosebumping with this soooooo wonderful song... Maybe one of the best on "The Source", and it is full of hit titles!!!!
Goosebumping! 😂
Such a chaotic tune.
Another killer lyric video Arjen (and Wayne)!
you rule! thanks Deron!
Perfect!!!! Arjen is the master of criation and composition! long live Ayreon!!!
This album just sounds like a ton of fun to listen to , can't wait for it to arrive in the mail !!!
You sir are a great songwriter, Thanks for sharing all these great tunes!!!
Take 5 at 2:27 to 3:26 :) Love that section!
all those clips are done amazingly well! lot of work it was for sure
I REALLY fall in love with this new album! Arjen love you :)
What a GREAT ROCKER!!!
Definately a highlight of this wonderful album!
\o/ I just got done listening to this album and I wanted more. The source does always provide.
The best Ayrton music since Comatose!
Spectacular video for a superb song. This job of yours is amazing Mr. Lucassen, hats off
WOW! Perfect. Just perfect.
love the power metal vibe this has to it. reminds me of symphony x and 90s helloween. exellent stuff
The harmony at 1:09 rocks my socks off :)
Just thanks for so much AYREON
Mr.Mills is a superhuman when it comes to singing :D
yes! this is my favorite song on The Source!!
all singers are amazing here:D
The Prophet part in this song is awesome
The devil has won and another masterpiece from Lucassen pierces the cosmos. Mills is utterly magnificent, as are all the musicians on The Source.
wow. Just wow. no other words needed
I love this album very much!
lol, that Elite Dangerous footage ^_^
gotta have influences ;)
Haha, when i was listening for the first time to the Album i thought "Oh, this will be so nice for playing elite dangerous!" Nice one :)
Give me more of that voice of yours Tobi!
So then are we getting a lyric video for each song on the new album? Because if so I'd be excited for Into the Ocean and watching the Starblade dive beneath the waves, maybe during the last chorus.
Whoever puts these videos together needs to do CGI for movies. Maybe then we'd get decent graphics.
Lol. I did them and thank you so much for the compliment! You rule!
I refuse to watch till my pre-order arrives and I can see it in it's true glory first... I'm sure that it's absolutely amazing though
I really could imagine an animation from the Planet Y saga
TH-1 Toehider voice sounds awesome here!
Upyrev Vladimir thanks mate! :)
maybe my favourite one!..
Best song on the album \m/
That Last Day Of War footage is as appropriate, as it can ever be.
Love this song!
Muito louco!!! 🤘🤘🤘 One of the bests songs :D
WONDERFULL CLIP
Jesus! This is fucking awesome. So glad I bought this
Anyone else got Battlestar Galactica vibes from this.
Beautiful music. Those last lyrics at 4:31 . wow.
Nothing could make this album better. Seriously. Arjen, how in the name of the Eight Moons will you top this???
his vision is amazing, a multiverse where we are just interpretations of machines fighting for life.
That's not the story at all
You can wiki the ayreon storyline if you wana catch up
@@rivlesbewareThe Wiki is actually pretty comprehensive about the story, good idea to read up on it
I can't decide which of these songs is my favourite, but this one's definitely a contender.
Also, am I the only one who gets a "Roger Taylor" vibe from Mills' vocals on this record?
Best song of the Album!!!!
Thanks Arjen!!!
This is killer of course. What else would you expect? Over the top Prog Metal. What more could you ask for?
Awesome song, again. And Elite Dangerous spotted. 😉
this is fooking awesome
Continuing the proud tradition of many exclamation points in pulp science fiction titles ("Them!", "Make Room! Make Room!", etc.)!
