@@shiro4070 In all honesty, I think chapter 3's deaths should of been Akane, Ibuki, and Mikan. Akane would be executed for attacking Monokuma and Mikan is executed for killing Ibuki. Hiyoko would get time to reflect on the things she said to Mikan and Nekomaru would feel like his sacrafice was in vain since Akane still died.

Just gonna explain Mikan's execution for a bit he're for anyone who's a bit confused/weirded out. Monokuma simply just injected her with what I assume is euthanasia but with a bit of a kick (it gave her a trip is what I'm guessing). The whole bit with her getting sent to outer space is basically a metaphor of her going to heaven to see her "beloved". The name "Bye bye ouchies" hints more towards her cause of death, euthanasia.
Another theory is that it was according to her phobia of Big Things

Thats what he does. He accuses the people he KNOWS are innocent so they can definitively narrow down the suspects. He a really interesting character imo. Even in this chapter, when he gets the LIAR disease he repeatedly tells Hajime to go away and that he hates him. Logically the opposite is true

I hate how Hiyoko died in this chapter, it should've been Sonia. No hate to Sonia but because of Hiyoko dying, Mahiru's death kind of got wasted. If Sonia would've died it would make a great impact on both Gundham and Kazuichi, they might even become friends after. If Hiyoko survived her character could've grown like she deserved to.
So Sonia's reason for death could be that after telling Hiyoko to use the mirror in the music venue, she didn't want to go outside because of the disease so instead she asked Sonia to get it for her, when she walks in on Mikan killing Ibuki, Mikan kills Sonia. This would give Sonia's death a feeling of guilt towards Hiyoko.
If Sonia died, and later Gundham gets executed for murdering Nekomaru, if him and Kazuichi had become friends, he would've had lost 2 people which makes his survival in the end make a lot more sense.
So in the end the survivors would be: Hiyoko, Hajime, Fuyuhiko, Akane and Kazuichi. Hiyoko having lost Mahiru, Hajime lost Chiaki (and Nagito), Fuyuhiko lost Peko, Akane lost Nekomaru and Kazuichi lost Sonia and Gundham.
Plus, if Gundham died this would mean he would have to take care of his hamsters which could also make a great impact on his character development.
This is just my opinion, feel free to comment on it but please don't hate on it.
I'd replace Sonia with either Akane or Kazuchi, Sonia is important for Ch 4.

heres what I'm pretty sure happened:
Mikan said she'd do anything for Nagito to survive and since she was the one spending the most time with the sick she probably went a little crazy herself maybe from a combo of sleep deprivation and despair disease, so she plotted to kill Ibuki.
She either had Ibuki hang herself since Ibuki had "do everything everyone tells me" syndrome or strangled her and then strung her up herself.
While that was going on Hiyoko happened to walk in, looking for the mirror to try and fix her kimono sash. While Mikan was getting everything set up in the Titty Tornado, ie hanging up curtains, and placing one (there were two as alluded to by Monokuma) hemp bag over Ibuki's head, Hiyoko found the dead Ibuki lying on the stage and freaked out. Mikan killed her and got some duct tape to stop her bleeding.
Now she had two bodies to deal with and knew she needed an alibi for both of them. So she decided to duct tape Hiyoko to the pillar and fashion a makeshift wallpaper to cover Hiyoko's body. As well as cleaned up the blood on stage a little and turned up the heat to disguise the times of death.
After that she just had to go back to the hospital and wait until morning. Which is why Nagito's condition improved overnight, because Mikan had killed Ibuki and Hiyoko.
When Hajime came in in the morning and told Mikan to get some rest, she put her second part of her plan into action. After stringing up the bodies last night she had also fashioned the conference room to look like the way she had set up the Titty Tornado, putting a black curtain over the windows to block out the light.
She went into the conference room, tied up her hair, hung a rope from the ceiling and set up a second step ladder (i believe there were two when we first saw the staff only room in the TT). Then she set the projector on the grond and probably covered the lens to dim the lighting so you wouldnt be able to see the person in the transmission very well. Usually projectors have a remote control that can turn them on and off so she dressed up in a hospital gown, put the second hemp bag over her head, stepped up to the noose, broadcasting the entire thing to Hajime who thought he was watching a broadcast coming in from the TT.
Right before she hung herself she turned off the projector, then waited for Hajime to leave so she could hide everything and then run outside to wait for Fuyuhiko.
They split up to "look" for Ibuki. By this time Hajime had seen Ibuki's dead body and was running to the motel to look for someone to come help.
Mikan locked the door with a drumstick so she wouldnt be interrupted while she tore the wallpaper down to show Hiyoko's body, put it in the staff only room, and hid, waiting for the others to bust in so she could join them and pretend like nothing happened.
Now lets see if I got any of that right..

So it was Mikan... Never think that Mikan can kill two persons. It's strange, but I'm not satisfied with this trial I mean there many thinks that they don't explainl. For example, I really don't understand why Mikan reproduced the death from the imitation film and the motive come from of she's beloved ? They don't even explain the object that kill Hiyoko. However, that's good trial because from the begining we were in the errors from the diagnostic of Mikna. And poor Mikan she was affected from the disease because she tried to save Nagito...
Well actually she was affected from the very beginning along with Akane, Nagito and Ibuki but just didn't show any symptoms of odd behavior like they did. If you look back at the class trial it turns out she wanted to treat their illness so she could find a way to take advantage of it and commit murder and she choose to kill Ibuki due to her symptoms of the Despair Virus. Unfortunately Hiyoko got killed too because she was at the wrong place at the wrong time.

I never understood why there had to be only one killer in this game. It kind of makes no sense. Mikan’s ultimate despair would justify her directly targeting and murdering two people, since the more despair the better, and she wouldn’t have necessarily been looking to ‘win’ the trial. But having someone walk in on her killing someone else is a total waste. Speaking of, why did she even kill Ibuki in the first place?? Girl had a disease that made her obey every order you gave, why didn’t she just tell her to climb the ladder herself? That would technically make it a suicide, which would have made Ibuki the blackened rather than Mikan. And depending on the rules, whether or not she then went on to kill someone else is completely irrelevant, since only the first death/body discovered would be counted. Could you imagine how despair-inducing that would be? Mikan surviving this trial? Also, it would have avoided the whole strangulation marks being different from the hanging barns thing, which would have prevented others from questioning her veracity in the autopsy. I don’t understand why Ibuki’s suggestiveness wasn’t used. Even if Mikan would still be considered blackened like how in the next trial there is a blackened désolée the victim technically being directly responsible for their own death, why didn’t Mikan exploit the loophole airway? I suppose she just wanted the despair of killing her with her bare hands

She was infected by the Despair Disease which basically make someone act the exact opposite of how you normally are supposed to. So Mikan being infected made her go kill them. The Monokuma brings it up and states what the disease is and that he can cure it but doesn't until the case is over

After-Thoughts:
Mikan's character arc could be described as being similar to Celestia Ludenberg's, but with the deceptiveness being magnified by 10,000 and not even being INTENTIONAL up until acquiring Despair Disease and remembering her roots as a seed of Despair, and being 10,000 times more terrifying and disturbing than Celeste's reveal could ever hope to be. Seeing Celeste flip her shit and reveal her true colors was one thing. Seeing Mikan, yes, MIKAN, go COMPLETELY, UTTERLY, THOROUGHLY, IRREVOCABLY, BATSHIT *CRAZY NUTS* in the course of less than an hour? And knowing that it had actually _already happened the night before_ but she was such a damn pro at hiding it that we didn't see it up until now? And that her memory loss was the only thing that prevented it from happening sooner!? That's _bone-chilling._ Whoever this "beloved" is (lesbian love affair with Junko is my headcanon right now), they fucked her up. I mean REALLY, REALLY FUCKED HER *UP!* Dear heavens, what the hell did they DO to her!? O_O I thought Nagito was screwed up at first. And he is. But THIS is a level of horrific sanity slippage that makes _Junko_ look like a mere bipolar patient!
It would seem the pasts being hidden from this cast of characters are far darker than that which was hidden from those of the first game. In the first game, it was rather straight-forward: these students attended Hope's Peak for 2 years, living a communal life protected from the destruction of the outside world before Ultimate Despair hijacked the school and turned it into a slaughterhouse, erasing their memories and forcing them to kill each other for the sake of illustrating a sick ideology of despair to the rest of the world. Other than Mukuro and Junko, none of them really had a hand in any of this and as far as we know lived relatively happy lives even during the apocalypse. But with what's being revealed in this game... It seems this cast's role in the events leading up to this point was decidedly less passive. If this is the result of just _one_ student remembering her past, what horrors await us when/if the rest do? The fact that Monomi, whose allegiance isn't exactly clear but doesn't seem to be with Ultimate Despair, is still holding their memories hostage even after all that's happened is telling that something truly sinister lurks within them. I had questioned her reasoning at first: the lost memories are being dangled above their heads as a motive for murder, and still she refuses to return them? What could possibly be so bad as to warrant such idiocy? Mikan seems to have provided a terrifying glimpse of the answer to that question.
Now, on to the last two chapters. If Danganronpa 2 follows the trend set by Danganronpa 1, this means _shit's about to go DOWN._ I can't wait.

Poor hyoko. She died because she entered the room at the wrong time. She maybe thinking that early morning that it's finally her time to secretly fix her kimono because but then she doesn't know... She has a rotten personality but still, I kinda liked her character.
The worst part is that she was originally meant to survive and get some sweet character development and have Fuyuhiko die instead. But, what we got was her dying a rotten character and Fuyuhiko get all of that development.

Honestly, I hated how the murder wasn’t even showed in the closing argument, even if there’s little to no way of knowing the murder weapon for Hiyoko, it felt so boring to see Ibuki and Hiyoko being the ONLY victims in the series to not have their cause of death shown in the closing argument, lame asf 😠
the closing argument for this trial was just disappointing. Like they didn’t even say how or when ibuki and hiyoko were murdered.

So Mikan was killed off because of The Despair Disease a plot point that is only brought up for this 1 case and is never mentioned throughout the whole series ever again that Monokuma decides to tell everyone about after the case and telling everyone he can cure it as well. Yeah okay this is fine not like I just started getting attached to Mikan or anything.
I mean it's basically a motive. Motives always last for a single chapter
