As soon as Jurgen switched from 4-3-3 to 4-2-3-1 it made a difference. We've just lost the most difficult game of the season 2-1. It's our reaction that matters. YNWA

Henderson has to be in XI when playing against Cardiff or Huddersfield or Fulham but not city,Chelsea,united or Tottenham. Very disappointing player

Good game but we can't start milner, Henderson together in midfield anymore in the 433 in big games anymore. Hopefully Klopp realizes that the 4231 is the way to go or keita/shaqiri with fabinho in the 433 is the way to go. Attack is the best form of defense. No worries, we'll learn from this and get better as we always do! C'mon boys!

If Fabinho started instead of Henderson it would've been much different.
Totally agree with Klopp that Kompany should've been sent off. He knew the risk of making that tackle and had to stop Salah at all costs. Jumped into the tackle, studs first, off the ground. If Mo has weight on his foot, it breaks. Ref was too scared to make the call, too big an occasion. Seen 3-4 players so far this season correctly sent off like that, Delph is one, and he even got the ball first.

Fabinho gave the midfield an entire new feel. I don't think Milner and Henderson were the way to go. Fabinho and Keita made more sense.
Great game, we just about deserved the three points but it could have been different. It’s going to be a fantastic run in now with Spurs in the running as well. Three very good teams with three very good managers. Six points between the best three teams in the league. Game on!!!!

City fan here. Lovren sucks but he's not the one who blunted your attack. If you had started Fabinho and Shaqiri it would have been a tighter game. I imagine Klopp set up to punish City on counterattacks like you've done in the past, and he didn't realise until too late that Pep had set up to periodically stop pressing high, forcing you to get creative in possession. Hendo, Gini, Milner, these guys aren't doing you any favours when they're on the pitch together.

The guy works his ass off and yes that was unlucky and he could've closed the space b/w aguero faster to block the shot but he didn't. Firstly, the main and most important thing to take from this match is the lack of attacking prowess like on other matches, the ball, even on counter attacks, was getting played backwards. This is not like Liverpool this season.
Secondly, was dejan lovren. A backup centre back playing against one of the top teams in the world wasn't going to work and city knew that and targeted him. His defending was atrocious and arguably cost us the match
The next thing is the midfield, Henderson, wijnaldum and milner just wasnt working. A sub should have been made earlier. The second fabinho came on we began to play like ourselves. I feel like subbing mane off for xherdan was a mistake and it should have been Henderson instead
The passing and crossing in the final third was one major downfall as it was sloppy and it just didn't cut it
But we are still 4 points clear

Wijnaldum is no joke and he is quickly becoming a top class player, if he gets the support he needs - from someone other than Handerson, who is honestly too slow and is lacking the sense and ability to make smart plays. Then he will be great for us and I see a bright future for him.

Liverpool lost when klopp chose the lineup. Playing two old men (milner, Henderson) in midfield who are not that defensive and not that creative and have lost their speed needs some questions to be asked. The bench was stronger than the lineup.why? We had a chance to go unbeaten and that's gone now. We need to buy some midfielders and please sell, Moreno and loveren.

I have total faith & belief that Liverpool will react in a positive way and win our next PL game, Klopp knows what to say to the players to make sure they don’t dwell on that defeat, no shame in narrowly losing to another top side . Different competition but after losing 2-1 to PSG we were all down and went on to win 8 games on the bounce . Fine margins the only difference tonight, kompany should have been sent off and we were 1cm from going 1 up which changes everything , upsetting but we’ll be back . Wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest if we go on another incredible run all the way right through to the end of the season and win the league.

What a guy Jürgen Klopp, we made such a good development since he came in and I feel we are now truly "belivers". It's a painfull loss, but pick yourselfs up and just go game by game and we will see what happens at the end of the season. Hopefully we win it! I really like a kid named Trent AA.. original Mersyside and come from academy but in the big games not solid, little nerveous. IMO thats why on first game vs city klopp use Gomez for Rb. I just think why not Milie in Rb. Poor for Lovren two goals come from Trent side and his got the critics and blamed.

I don't have any issues with Lovren in the field, but off the field he needs to stop with his BS, making very risky statement at an early stage of the season. Otherwise, let's relax my fellow reds, we still up 4 points and need to think game by game rather then focusing on the long term perspective of this loss. The lads will learn from this loss to get their heads back in the game and not get carried away. YNWA and let's keep supporting our players !

Fabinho and Gomez would be great additions... Liverpool have the depth and the class to take this league, this is just one battle.
Too many quality players injured. Hopefully they could recover faster. I miss solid team with Oxlade and Gomez.
Not surprised by the result and the cold hard truth is that Mane’s 1:4 approximate ratio is going to always cost us dear in games like this against the very best teams. Whether the club would spend on an Mbappe to rectify that remains to be seen but it’s the level we need to ensure we turn defeats into draws and draws into wins and therefore trophies. Collectively gave everything but hopefully those getting carried away come down to earth a little.
If it was anybody else in charge and we lost that game, I would be shitting myself but Klopp isn't overreacting in anyway; we lost, so what? Move on to the next game. He knows how to control a squad, he knows how to keep them in check and that gives me full confidence that we won't slip up. We lost the European Cup final last season and look at how well we've bounced back: top of the league and back into the knockout stages. My only concern in Lovern. As much as I want him to succeed, he just seems to mess up. Luckily we've got a couple easy matches for a while before Gomez and Matip return. Up the reds.
I’m a Liverpool fan. Today was frustrating seeing an amazing city team and us panicking and struggling to make passes. They looked promising every attack whilst we didn’t. City in my opinion are the best team in the world at the minute and we are showing why we are up there
Lovren was our weakness in Defense. Mane was very unlucky to hit the post and then the rebound off the GK misses by 1.1cm from being a goal - how bloody unlucky is that. Our first half lacked our usual finesse upfront but second half was so much better. I still think Kompany deserved a red card. Anyway, despite the loss I’m still proud of the boys and I reckon it’s exactly incentive our team needs to now go on and win every game and we can still win the title.

The Kompany challenge was worse than the two that produced reds last weekend in the PL (Hojbjerg and Bailly) for identical challenges, plus he was possibly last man. Jurgen has a point. Was studs up and he was not in control.

I watched both Kompany and Lovren (red card tackles) challenges. The difference between the two tackles were Aguero and Salah who were tackled. One's a battler and one's a bottler. Salah is a good player but just ain't tough enough.
Feel for Gini. He was brilliant as our CM last few games, and Hendo essentially occupies his space.
Not hating on the three that started the game, but I don't think we can play Gini, Hendo and Millie, together.
They're too similar to each other.
