Yes! Donate any and everything you can to shelters. I have been in a shelter before years ago with both my boys and it was such a blessing to wake up, go out and see all kinds of stuff. It really brings such joy when you have almost nothing and you wake up to see things you really need or would love to have. 21:10

Your new home is coming along Ashley. I'm sure the boxes and the piles of unpacked items everywhere has unsettling but you're getting there. I will say with decluttering or feeling like you have too much stuff, look at it as what you will donate will go to a good home who may need it and enjoy it. Take it from someone who lived with minimal until I was able to afford more. Donations and shopping at thrift stores were lifesaving. It blows my mind that some states are not mandated to recycle. Where I live we've been recycling for well over 2 decades. It's such a good feeling for our future and environment. Same with eco bags. My trunk is filled with bags and I never shop without them. Stores here require shoppers to bring their own. Few stores will provide paper bags for 5 or 25 cents. TFS and good luck with the progress 🙌🏼

I have been here for a couple years and I love seeing your channel’s growth. ❤ I agree unboxing and trying to find a place for everything is definitely the worst part of moving. 😢 I’m sorry that you lost your husband’s customized photo frame that he got for you as a Valentine’s Day gift. 😢❤ I’m going to make sure to get a house equal size of what I’m used to that way I won’t have to worry about making room for everything that I have. I love organizer bins they make life so much easier. ❤🥰
I'm so glad you are getting settled in and getting the unpacking done. I know that is such a huge relief! Also I love the countertops and backsplash. I think it is beautiful. I would never have thought to put those together, but the blue in it is really striking!
Ashley, I do most of our shopping at Aldi's and what has helped us is bring a cooler! And reusable bags. But the cooler is awesome. Hope you have a wonderful day.
I started my own house cleaning business last year here in Portland Oregon.
You could get an IKEA cabinet for on the top of our stairs for sheets, towels🤔
Wow Ashley what a transformation, a suggestion for your old towels you can donate them to a animal shelter they use them for bathing dogs also you can cut them up for cleaning rags

We fill up a trash bag so fast in a day, but we have to take our trash off ourself. Thankfully we had a dump a few minutes down the road from our house. Stella is sooooo cute. Love seeing her appear. Lol. Omg yes, it's so tedious unpacking in a new space trying to figure out where everything can go.
Girl both of my bathrooms only have the one cabinet under the sink and no linen closets if you could imagine the struggle of where I keep stuff. 😅😅

I just have to say that most cities in Texas do have recycling. Odessa is just one smallish city that apparently doesn't. 😁
I hate that the area of Texas you lived in didn’t have recycling. I live in Texas in a small town and even we have recycling bins, plus homeless shelters. It’s a real shame that Odessa doesn’t have them. On a personal note; I think you are a phenomenal mother and I love how your children have such big hearts. I am a minimalist who, in retirement, has collected and kept ‘stuff’. I’m starting to declutter, and we are so fortunate to have a soup kitchen here and food pantry. Both groups also do so much for the homeless and those in need. I give them everything my children don’t want. Did you say you would be moving in another year?
Here in British Columbia Canada 🇨🇦 garbage pick up is once a week and recycling pickup is once every 2 weeks so I totally understand what ur saying

You should get an envelope in the mail for the "Fill A Bag for a Vet" with a date on it for pickup here in the Hampton Roads area. It makes it super easy to get donations out in our area and it can be more than 1 bag. Usually comes monthly and I have challenged myself to get something out each time this year as we hope to move out of VA soon (recent retired military fam).
Most hardware stores carry glass and can cut you a new piece for your frame😊

I was surprised you didn’t keep any boxes for your next move!!! I have only moved once and I barely had anything. As I look around now I would dread moving out with all the added stuff🙈
Use those hand held steamer for your sliding doors in the cracks. It works.

I would LOVE a little robot vacuum like that. We have no carpet either and I'm telling you, trying to keep my floors clean is so hard, especially with two big dogs and one being a husky going in and out...ugh.. there's SO much fur and dirt. 😂

In the UK we take our own shopping bags as free bags are not a thing anymore so if you need 10 thin carrier bags you have to pay for them, I use Aldi's big bags as they are strong and hold a lot, I've noticed in the USA that they give you carrier bags for everything !! 😵 (not good for the planet) that's why they are a no no now in the UK. So maybe you can start a good trend and always take your own shopping bags whenever you shop for food, clothes etc. 💐
I do need to start doing that! But I reuse my bags for my bathroom trash cans & to scoop my cats 💩. I try to reuse them 🥰

Also I love your dog so adorable your sweet Furry Babies and it was funny that you had mentioned your dog went and ran into the door the sliding glass door LOL poor little guy❤ so I have a little Shih Tzu and we also have a sliding glass door at least our backyard my dog did the same thing the same exact thing he ran and he ran into the screen and sometimes he ran into the glass door a bounce right back off it was hilarious LOL at the same time I'm like oh nobody are you okay I picked him up and gave him my dog a hug and kiss and said you silly boy you're not supposed to run into the door . I haven’t made one yet. But I’m loving it here so far. The weather is so nice and it actually rains! Haha we also have our family right down the road from us so it’s been really awesome living here. But I’m not going to lie, Texas was amazing too. Cost of living is a lot cheaper .. housing wise & utility bills so far 😅 but we will see how it compares as we get more settled in.

We signed a one year lease for this rental so we have to stay in it at least that long. But that will give us some time to settle in and see what area we want to live in and we’re hoping interest rates will come down a bit. 🥰
