Actually in Indian subcontinent countries , annoying behaviour is seen as pretty normal culturally. People don't seek personal space that much and very few even understand the concept as it is not practiced at all.

@Gary Johnston Irony, sort of primary school argument. Only you don't seem to recognise bogans. As for me, I don't go on holidays to Bali wearing thongs, tattoos and singlets. I don't get drunk and shout and carry on. I am well educated, an out of practice classical musician, I speak five languages, albeit most badly. Do I sound like a mullet-sporting, beer-swilling, western-suburb living bogan to you?

I grew up in bali and i'm indonesian, and i can say that the bogans are pretty easy to avoid (honestly i find the chinese tourists to be more obnoxious). Just don't go to the tourist/expat hotspots and try to befriend the locals and most people in Bali can speak English at conversational level, so communication isn't a huge problem either, it really depends on what you're looking for.

sometimes it makes you wonder who the real locals are cuz bogans can be rlly agressive towards the locals like they own the place, one randomly yelled at me while i was walking my dog in a nearby park even when neither me or my dog did anything wrong, honestly its one of many reasons i hate visiting my hometown of Kuta 🙄

Jetstar primarily use Asian based cabin crews for their international routes, including Hawaii flights, as it’s cheaper than hiring Australians. Having said that, you’ll often find at least 1 Australian on the crew too.
The flight deck is crewed by Australians, as the pilots union have a rule that requires Australian registered aircraft to have Australian pilots.

As an Australian Jetstar is great for short domestic flights in Australia such as Sydney to Melbourne, but not good for international flights. My recommendation is that it's often better to pay a little bit extra if you are travelling internationally and choose another airline.

I flew Jetstar domestically many times over the years and only ever experienced 2 cancellations. I never had any insurance but the staff were always lovely and one time having a flight cancelled in Cairns, I was given a hundred dollar voucher to use on my next flight and my hotel I had to book was reimbursed. The same happened once on the Sunshine Coast when a crew member suddenly became ill so they cancelled the flight so our hotel stay was reimbursed.
I flew the Dreamliner from Mel-Cns once (it went to Japan), and departed and arrived at the international terminals. Had seat 10A and loved it as it was the first time on a Dreamliner. As a budget airline, I’ve never had any dramas with them and I always paid the extra to sit in 1F if it was available.

Many JQ cabin crews who are in charge for flights from Bali to Australia are Indonesians. They are DPS-based cabin crew. I really want to apply for such position if JQ recruits new batch of DPS-based cabin crews - because actually I read somewhere that they had previously planned to recruit more DPS-based cabin crews in April 2020, but the Covid-19 pandemic has disrupted all. 😞
JQ does hire international cabin crews from several Asian countries ( e.g. from Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, Japan, or Korea ) for their international flights

Flights to Bali on Jetstar can be dirt cheap sometimes.... $139 AUD for Melbourne to Bali. That’s sometimes cheaper than Melbourne to Sydney

I reckon ur assessment of the flight was pretty good, you kept it real and didn’t appear to have any unrealistic expectations.
I head to Bali usually twice each year and have flown with almost every airline that flies there...I resisted going there for the very same reason some others do...Boganville!!!...I would go anywhere but Bali...I couldn’t have been more wrong , sure they are there in droves in Kuta and Legian mostly, and they are totally cringe worthy. But to be honest I live near the Gold Coast where there are more bogans than almost anywhere except maybe the inner west in Sydney yep lived there!...or areas of Melbourne lived there as well....Let’s not overlook Earls Court in London...Aussie bogans are everywhere it just depends on what level of bogan you are..Do urself a favour n go. I went with three others Brisbane return for $1200 for the lot ....sure! J/star ain’t first class on Etihad but they get you there safely n it’s only five hrs ffs ...what you save can go to some pretty swanky lux accommodation and restaurants that would blow ur mind....and the people genuinely love Australians they are warm n hospitable and will befriend you instantly
Give the bogans a break ...they are just having a good time n hopefully the only ones they are harming are themselves...maybe there’s a bit of envy...who knows!

@@DevonRexLady I’m glad you said “mainly”….and you are absolutely right….used to live in Glebe n it’s full of hipster inner trendies ….and it’s sorta nice to see…but the bogans on many levels are still there…..I thought we were talking about JetStar and Bali….sorry if I offended, wasn’t my intention.

Im from new zealand and I fly both jetstar and air new zealand. Honestly jetstar is fine its just the passengers are bit cheap and bogan or annoying but if you want the cheapest flight to get to a to b and dont need any food or care about anything else other than the lowest fare price so you can then spend that money on better acomidation etc then go jetstar but if you want the overall experience and quality go air new zealand. both are good airlines just for different needs

Josh you missed the best economy seats on Jetstars Dreamliner planes! Between Business Class and the main Economy section is a small 4 row section of Economy seats Rows10-13 For extra $AU25 you have peace & quiet and close to Galley & toilets! Plus first off plane on Arrival as Business Class follow before rest of the ‘Bogans’ (yes every country has them especially when coming home from a holiday!!) I flew Jetstar 6xyear from Melb to Bali (it became like catching the train) Never had any major problems but would never fly Jetstar domestic within OZ!! PS: I found your comments at the beginning re Asians etc quite rude!! Yes Australia is a multi cultural country and there are generations of Australian Asians living here going back to the 1800’s! Just saying!!!

In regards to the comments on bogans, its all accepted cause of the pathetically weak stance toward tolerance in Australia. Anything goes and is accepted, a true circus. Hi Josh great video. I use jetstar to bali all the time only because they have good flight times during the day and your not flying at night. The crew are mainly thai nationals with the occasional Australian onboard its a shame they don't hire more Australians to crew these flights. I do sometimes find the Thai crew to be uninterested for some reason maybe because they work them to the bone and pay them next to nothing. Flying Jetstar is exactly that you get what you pay for....but generally its good unless things get delayed and/ or cancelled then you see how terrible they really are sadly. cheers from Australia :)

Why would you ever fly Jetstar? I have tried to fly Jetstar Business twice - once cancelled so got a refund, once had to use a voucher from other cancellations. It was 7 hours delayed. But this is nothing compared to this story on the Australian Frequent Flyer Forum, "A family of four was left stranded in Bali for 18 days after Jetstar cancelled their flight home and didn’t offer an alternative flight until more than two weeks later.
After a holiday in Indonesia, AFF member Hutch0007 and their family was booked to return to Melbourne on a Jetstar flight departing on 16 September 2022. Unfortunately, around this time, several of Jetstar’s Boeing 787 aircraft were out of service with unexpected maintenance issues and many Jetstar international flights were delayed or cancelled. This flight from Denpasar to Melbourne was one of those impacted by a last-minute cancellation".

  • @itsbeezyAU
    @itsbeezyAU Před 4 lety +1

Some additional info: Jetstar may be getting rid of the 787 due to high maintenance costs and industrial action. Just a side note tho, jetstar may re-utilize the jets for longer haul flights, after the arrival of Jetstar's first a321neo LR in august of 2020.
