I remember ordering an SP SD45 in August of 2020, still have it to this day
YES! A C&NW 900 series SD45! Thanks fellas, I'll be getting one of these. Much appreciated.
Yes Southern Pacific SD45 finally gets props for being the new era
I hope scale trains.com will have DRGW and ATSF.
As an sp guy I am getting one! Also, would love to get you guys to do the SD 9s I personally would pick up at least 6, black widow/ bloody nose transition era
I purchased 2 of the early SP SD45's from SP's first order. What I really want is the later phase SP SD45 that was the most common, which had L shaped engineer windshield and high mount brake cylinders. Still waiting and prices continue to rise!
I would like to see more Canadian road names done by ST.
They look and sound great!
In future I’d like to see engines such as the SD38, F59PH/PHI, P42DC, & SD60/SD60M to name a few
An impressive locomotive model, I am pleased to see a modern release of the emd sd45 in ho scale, I look forward to seeing / purchasing the SP and C&NW locomotive models, big fan of the sd45.
I would like to see a GP
Mike Hopkins mentioned for those who want trains from a certain era but can't say what they want. No problem for me in that regard. I am interested in late 1970's primarily D&RGW and grew up with SP and a big fan of the SD45 from those days in northern California. I can't wait for ST to offer Rio Grande SD45's but I'm in for the SP SD45 too. So far the only ST engines I have are the as delivered D&RGW SD40T-2's and I"m waiting for more versions. A GP30 would be lovely to!
I got to meet Shane at the Chantilly show in Virginia a few months ago and it was a pleasure meeting him!
I just got my second ScaleTrains Rivet Counter locomotive a BNSF DASH 9-44CW (the other is a CSX C39-8). They are awesome in every aspect, build quality, details, smooth quiet motors, and as a huge bonus, LokSound 5 with PowerPack capacitors. ScaleTrains is now my favorite manufacturer. I have an SD45 on order.
Wow! Y’all are reliving a ton of new stuff!
Great video guys. Hope to see more in the future.
This is really great! The Athearn models have been great but to see some new better detailed versions is really refreshing. Great job fellas!
Very cool choice Shane. Always loved the SP SD45. About time an accurate well detailed model is made.
Also, you guys should do the RP39/RP40-2C. It was a passenger variant of the GP40-2 rebuilt by MK exclusively for the Virginia railway express. The RP40s had an SD45 carbody on a gp40 frame and the RP39s were GP40s with some different features.
One thing I would like to see improved is making a much brighter amber strobe light if equipped. It’s not just Scale Train models but industry wide they are always so weak barely visible. Lighting in general has advanced so much yet the beacons are still stuck in the past. It’s just a important detail thing with me.
SCL!!! Gotta get my order in! Thanks ST team,
I'm a Northern Pacific fanatic and they had very specific SD45 spotting features so I can't wait till you tackle them!!! You guys hit the BULLSEYE!!!
I like how when I ask if they would make a GP40-2, which only like 2 companies make a decent one, I get "Many companies have already done the GP40-2". Then they make the SD45, at least 4 companies made a decent SD45.
Correction: 5 companies make decent SD45s, forgot about kato.
What an amazing engine. I may not model that era still, but I am going out of my way to find some CNW’s
Yes I love your models Scale-trains I love the Seaboard one :D
2nd run of these: D&RGW! Please and thank you. 😁
You both guys are excellent communicators. Very good products. There is a beautiful locomotive, of EMD, that I never seen it in any scale. The G-12
Please consider this model.
Thanks
They said well what do you want? C&NW GP7/9 and SD7/9 but love this model and plan on picking up 1 or 2 of the C&NWs
Very nice, love the lights. Give us N Scale guys some more love tanks 🤛
Definitely will be wanting D&RGW!
Who all is excited about the all-new HO Scale locomotive?
meeee!!
My guess is that it is an AC4400CW
Im hoping its a GP40. They would so give Athearn and Atlas some great competition. I love both of my SD40-2s.
@@Mumbles19852007 I agree. Scaletrains currently has no 4 axle power.
I am! I will try and stop by and do some video with you guys!!!
Awesome! I hope that you will make the NS heritage locomotives in the future, as well as ES44AC’s and SD70ACe’s in general.
Good call.
OH MY!!!! I need a few undecorated....detail and paint me some MRS SD45s! NO MORE ATHEARN FOR ME! ScaleTrains from now on!
I hope it's something that's never been produced in HO. I know IHC & others did. Please add a detailed, reliable & decent running Alco C-415 to the future list. Painted & unpainted versions. They'll sell like hotcakes.
Great to see SD45's coming out. When will a TRUE Northern Pacific SD45 be coming out. And also the transition period NP to BN SD45's will be coming out? Thank's
Love it
Finally I can do my DDM45!
Two thumbs up. I already pre-ordered 3 of the SP units. Please do the 7400/7500 series SD45R's eventually...those are a MUST as well. Athearn's model was okay but I know you guys would do it one better...
Please make some canadian pacific sd40m-2 models with the sd45s
Would you guys ever consider doing variations of the SD40M-2 (SD45 shell downgraded to SD40 specs)? Nice models!
Sweet!
Looks great. How about some Great Northern in your next run. Number 400 Hustle Muscle would be great. If you are going to do more 1960s era I for one would love to see an SD40.
Not to diminish the greatness of the ol special duty 45 there, but as a response to Mike Hopkin as for what many or at least I would like to see from you guys is the tier 3 and tier 4 SD70ACe in rivit counter. Not many people are producing emd ACe's in the top of the line product lines. If you guys made that decision I'm quite certain you'd take over that field of model RR that athearn seems to have a monopoly on.
Essentially newer model RR of the newer generations are leaning more towards the modern power. Mainly because that's what they're seeing on the rails. Yea you have the gevos and dash 9s, but the main companion and rival is the modern ACe or MAC. You guys haven't pecked into that realm yet and it would be simply awesome to see you do it.
i agree with you, maybe some up, bnsf, cn, ns, kcs sd70ACE's
Ever heard of Athearn Genesis? No need for another SD70ACe. And why would they produce a model that was purchased by two Class 1’s, with most of the UP units being in storage?
@@SouthernPacificPatch cause i want a cn sd70ace from scaletrains i dont want to get one from athearn
Everything Trains13 You’ll be waiting a while. It doesn’t make any sense for Scaletrains to do them when Athearn has been producing a top of the line model for years.
@@SouthernPacificPatch ik, its worth the wait!!!
Excelente trabalho, parabéns !!!
Would love to see some GP units, GP60’s, GP40’s, GP38-2’s, anything around there. I think you could really break the market if you made GP60’s.
Nice...I was hoping for a Geep though
Hope we can get these in N-Scale one day. CSX Transportation Please
I would love a rivet counter GP38-2. Canadian Pacific or the Canadian National GP38-2W. I will 100 % buy a few of those. Preferably the later ones with ditch lights.
Athearn genesis makes some really good models of those
@@maxim430 I dissagree, they don't offer CP, and their too expensive for what you get.
@@natestrains1166 they are in the process of making true cp ones. And iv seen these locomotives go for pretty cheap
How beautiful I am very intetestd in rail Modeling and I am very interested these
Thanks for watching. -Drayton
Greetings Scale trains. Is there a possibility, that you can produce the Amtrak Acela set, with Dcc/Sound? And can you produce a line of RS3 locomotives with sound? Thanks. I'm in the process of purchasing your Dash 9 Northfolk and Southern.
Are you going to Model the Southern Railway in the high hood thanks
when are the rest of the announcements coming out?
I would also like to see a GP. Many railroads still use them
.... nice video. Great locomotive details..but..Are available in NdeM or FERROMEX ?🤔🤔. ?. .. greetings guys. 👋👋
Kool. But ima goin to wait for the Green BN 45 when they come out.
When will the rest of the TrainFest announcements be made?
I'm very curious. It may be a steamer, or a transition era diesel, since ScaleTrains has always done modern diesel power. And they have nothing 4 axle.
BN GP-20, and Great Northern F 7 A+B+B+A set's PLEASE!!
To answer your question “what would I like to see Scale Trains produce”? I’m waiting on the definitive steal and wood caboose
I model the Union Pacific of the 50s
As well as other rolling stock appropriate to the transition Era.
ACL, SAL, S&A, FEC, GRR, let's go another 10 years further back and give some love to the SouthEast!
A New Era Begins is a hint that it is a steam locomotive...
Let's hope not.
@@EvanstonSub I hope its a diesel, but it seems to me like its a steam locomotive.
I take that back. Since it is also going to come in operator, it probably isnt a steam locomotive, an operator steam locomotive would be weird.
DIB has hit a new high in the community.
I recognized the voice instantly...!
Will you be doing the norfolk and western high hood version and maybe the buffal and Pittsburgh
Yes, we will be doing N&W and SOU in the future. -Drayton
@@Scaletrains how about the BUFFALO and Pittsburgh railroad
There is one goof on the Santa Fe SD45, the numbers are supposed to be in the 5300 and 5400 number series!
The Santa Fe units done in the first run are part of the Operator™ brand and are one size fits all solution to quality and affordable HO scale trains. -Drayton
So does this mean that SD40M-2s might happen in the future?
When are the AC4400s coming? Ir are they being announced at the show? Ill find out tomorrow
Imagine an E4 A-B-A or A-B-B-A 1950s Orange Blossom Special in Rivet Counter - I'd sell a couple of my old guitars for that consist!
Also could we please get CNW dash-9s in rivet counter? I’m a huge detail freak and it disappoints me that it’s only in operator!
Come on man what happen to the release of a 4 axel I CAN'T DO GREAT SWITCHING WITH A 6 AXEL! I LOVE MY GEVOS BUT I WOULD LIKE AN 4 AXEL!
I completely agree!
Still see sd45s today on Bp railroad

I may be an SP modeler but these are too old school for me. Now if there was an SD45R version, then I'd be interested.
I'd love a SD45R in Portland & Western livery!
Excuse me. I have a question. Do the Seaboard SD45's come with just 2024 or different numbers ?
Four different road numbers. -Drayton
@@Scaletrains ok
Please do SDL39s...for those of us that dont want to buy brass
But but but I'm already overflowing with SD 45's!!! However, A good rendition of SP7399 in both daylight & Kodachrome colors would be good!!!
Very cool ScaleTrains! But are you also planning to make these in N scale? Many Santa Fe modelers would also like these, but the Operator Series of an ATSF SD45 that you showed off wore a paint scheme AFTER 1972. What about the 1960s when EMD introduced the SD45?
I and many others model the Santa Fe in N scale during the 1960s, so we'd love to see you offer ATSF SD45s painted in the blue and yellow pinstripe (aka "Bookends") paint scheme typical for that pre-1972 era. I'm sure that many HO modelers would also like this. There's nothing very special about Santa Fe's post-1972 blue and yellow Warbonnet paint scheme. Unfortunately, there currently exists a glut of them by almost every model railroading manufacturer in both HO & N scales.
Except occasionally by your competitors Atlas and Athearn, Santa Fe's pre-1972 paint scheme is very seldom offered in any high-quality N scale freight locomotive by any model train manufacturer. Many years ago, Intermountain produced an SD45-2 in the pre-1972 scheme, but the internal mechanisms were often disappointingly problematic and defective (probably from a lack of quality control). Except for a round-nose F unit and its NW2 switcher, Kato hasn't offered freight locomotives in more than a decade or perhaps two in Santa Fe's pre-1972 scheme. As you can see, the N scale marketplace lacks Santa Fe's pre-1972 paint scheme right now. ScaleTrains could really capitalize on this by filling the void to help meet customer demand.
I would gladly buy such an N-scale Rivet Counter or two or three if ScaleTrains made these iconic Santa Fe SD45 locomotives in the pre-1972 scheme. Please don't overlook us N-scalers!!!
When you first entered the model railroading industry almost 4 years ago, you wisely decided to offer your flagship locomotive, UPs "Big Blow" turbine, in both HO and N scales. You should do the same for your introduction of the SD45s.
Lastly, may I suggest in the future that ScaleTrains looks into producing not only 1960s-era EMD Special Duty (SD) 6-axle diesel locomotives, but also EMD General Purpose (GP) 4-axle ones from the 1960s such as GP35s and GP40s in BOTH N & HO scales? These versatile GP locomotives would be extremely desirable for modelers running mainline, branchline and switching operations.

Oh yes
Супер! Молодцы!
One can only hope these make it to N scale!
And go ahead and put me down for two Conrail SD45s!
Can you make the Rio grande sd45 in the next run
Erie Lackawanna puh-leeze!!
look at description.... they have a future plans part and Erie Lackawanna is listed in there so they might possibly be doing them in a future run...?
We need WC SD45's
Is this the delay in block guy on the right?
That's Drayton, our Social Media Marketer.
2:25 Is that an SD70B on the left
Drayton looks like the guy from delay in block productions

Please make SD70ACe-T4. Please! :c
You didn't ask me what era to make--pre merger anything!
Your web site doesn't indicate if you have Rivet-Counter DC/non-sound versions. I have one of your DC Gas turbines, and it speed-matches well with other manufacturers. In DC this is THE most important aspect of operation, since locos that run too fast (e.g., Rapido) or too slow (pre-Walthers P2Ks) won't MU with other brands. There ought to be an industry standard!
Will you have DRGW??
Yo that’s delay in block production I knew it
I wanted a steam engine...
same :/
I WANT TO YOU GUYS TO HAVE MADE A RIVET COUNTER MILWAUKEE ROAD SDL39!!! BUT I WILL BUY THE RC SP SD45!!!
