I love the style! I love the traditional, rugged construction! I wish we could get something like this in America!
It looks like there is an interesting mix of old and new technology. The engine appears to have coil packs over each cylinder, like a modern car. I love the metal intake manifold and solid front axle! It looks like it is built to endure. It also looks like it would be easy and inexpensive to service.

It would never pass modern crash or emissions testing. But the good thing is you could import on that was 25 years old, and then buy a brand new one and swap everything to the old registered frame/body. These have not changed at all since they first came out in the 60s.

Shit I wish Jeeps were still this basic. I have a 2003 TJ and its great, but theres several frills on it that are ticking time bombs. Everything is electronic! 👎 I want a mechanical fuel pump. Internal coil distributor ignition. Carburetor. No computer or sensors! I suppose theres tradeoffs. Diagnostics are easier with OBD systems and often times easily fixed, but once those spare sensors etc dry up, its game over. I love the UAZ Hunter just looking at it, dont like that it has leaf spring rear end though. Small tradeoff, I would love to have one of these, as long as I had a parts supplier.

@@cascaretthatsright9204 I bought a brand new UAZ Hunter in Dec 2015 and absolutely love it. What other 4X4 can you buy for less than $10,000 USD brand new? I'm an Australian living in Armenia and wanted a car that could take me anywhere. My UAZ has taken me to the tops of mountains, through river crossings and on the roughest roads imaginable, without problems. I wasn't interested in electronics or creature comforts, so this utilitarian vehicle is perfect for me. It's horses for courses, but I wouldn't refer to it is a piece of junk...I think that's an unfair comment. Some people like simple cars, while others like fine, expensive cars. Everyone is different. Thank God we still have a choice to buy simple things is all I can say.

Simple is better. I like it. I love it. This is one of my favorite cars now after i watch that video. This is how an offroad car has to be. If you live in mountain or forest or if you want to live forest spirit in the city this is the car. For Mountaineers, Hunters, Fishers, Campers, Bushcrafts, Survivalists.. Everything simple, even you can do some maintanance issues, if you know some mechanics i guess. But most people are not agree because we can not see those in the traffic. For example I have not seen one. Not availible in my country. And I am sorry that this kind of vehicles will finish production because people want fancy cars. For example Land Rover Defender finished. But i like this more than defender :) have to see and try anyway.

I like the exterior. In the us I think it would be a nice runner up to jeep and if they would make a more luxurious version it could also take on the G Wagon. But the interior is way to simple.

its a work horse and most 4 wheel like jeep are depend on technology but when that technology fail perhaps it does t fail than this hunter and niva continue to go.other hand interior is way back in time and it need a update
but it is a simple work horse
what i mis are big wheels instead of look to be normal car wheels

No, it's not. Unless you order from the internet additional foldable rear seats (more like benches) and install them yourself. They cost less than 10,000 rubles.

  • @ThreenaddiesRexMegistus

They’d never get this into most western countries - no airbags and it would score low on the crash ratings and possibly on emissions. But I’d buy this in a heartbeat in Australia, where it would mysteriously triple in price because - Australia. Just a functional and simple vehicle that is really good at what it’s designed to do with nothing complicated to break.
