  • Finally! A manufacture got the p42 right this time. I would strongly recommend this engine.

      I’m glad. I wanted to let everyone see how awesome this thing was. I had a few in the past and this is hands down the best p42 on the market, EVER! Thanks for the feedback. Hope you subscribed! Got more videos coming soon. 🤙🏼

    Thanks for the review! I'm definitely considering getting one in either phase 5 or one of the heritage schemes. They look great!

      My pleasure. Better hurry up before they sell out or prices go up. Once word gets out how good they’re it’ll be hard to come by. Try eBay. That’s where I got mine. Good luck! Won’t regret it.

    I picked up two of these today. I have only recently gotten into DCC But it is fun, especially when those ditch lights get to alternating. One heritage 4, one shamu as delivered. Wish the phase 3 was available.

      That’s awesome! DCC is the way to go. I picked up a few more myself which you’ll see on my channel in the near future all appropriately weathered up. I wish they made the Heritage phase 3 as well. That’s my favorite of them all.

      In my opinion, it has to be the best one ever made besides a brass Version. Totally worth it. It’s pretty heavy too.

    The way you unpacked your P42 Genesis locomotive was pretty risky. If that locomotive had fallen. That’s $200+ dollars you would have thrown away. Use care when you unpack your beautiful hobby.

    Ooou nice! Also I'm trying to model the nec in ho scale, do you have any suggestions? Any would be grateful because I'm not sure where to start lol

    • @lipsnortheasttrains9128
      @lipsnortheasttrains9128  Před 3 lety

      Nice! Good choice! LOL! I’d start by getting the locomotive or “train set” you like the most. Then decide what type of layout you want to build. It doesn’t have to be complicated with a bunch of switches. You just need to decide what you like the most about this hobby. For example, I enjoy running trains instead of worrying about operations. I like to model what I see. I also like realistic (prototype) looking trains and scenery. If you do too, then you can set that as a goal and work towards it. I also enjoy videography hence my videos. I like to make the videos to look somewhat realistic. You’ll learn a lot along your journey.

    Great video and nothing against you but im am actually a little pissed off they did what kato did and made it a double window the p42 was a single window and also had the strobes on top this is the newest look

    • @lipsnortheasttrains9128
      @lipsnortheasttrains9128  Před 3 lety +3

      If I’m not mistaken, I believe you’re describing the p40 which was the “as delivered” variation. When Amtrak upgrade the p40 to p42 (4000HP to 4200HP), they did away with the strobes and single windshield. At least that’s what I read online. Also, the p40 has the faded affect on the stripes towards the rear. A quick google image search of each will show the difference.

    • @lipsnortheasttrains9128
      @lipsnortheasttrains9128  Před 3 lety

      @@jassemalzahrani4502 Yes, It was upgraded while still in phase 3 so which ever model you get (p40 or p42) in phase 3 would be correct. I personally like the strobe and would have gotten one if I could.
