    I remember being really intimidated by parachutes until I finally tied one today, half a dozen later and they are pretty addicting to tie. These videos really helped thank you.

    Fantastic video. I love how you demonstrated the techniques so well. You showed better than anyone else how to properly tie on a parachute wing. Thanks.

    Actually, I do have a mouse pattern that uses foam and has proven itself to be very effective. I will try to post it soon. Thanks for your interest.

    Fine and Dry from Spirit River, the color is creamy yellow. But, any fine, dry fly dubbing will work.

    Zap a Gap all the way.

    Not yet. We've got a few other flies to get through before the mouse.

    Just wanted to say that I love your videos. I just started tying and your patterns have been my benchmark. It seems like you have videos for all the flies I need for my area (catskills). One question, maybe a stupid one, but can I sub head cement for super glue?

  • @tightlinevideo
    @tightlinevideo  Před 12 lety

    Not really. On this pattern the superglue works because it drys so quickly.

    is it a golden straw the color of of the parachute hackle or can i use that color ?

    • @tightlinevideo
      @tightlinevideo  Před 9 lety +1

      robert andersson Yes, the color I used in the video is Golden Straw but as I said in the video, Cream and Light Dun also look really good. Before you tie any more Sulphur Parachutes, you may what to wait until this coming Wednesday morning when I'm going to upload a video showing an alternate parachute technique that's both easy and super durable. The one here is good too, the new one will be just a little different.

    could you use foam instead of yarn? thx

    • @tightlinevideo
      @tightlinevideo  Před 9 lety

      Yes, and it works really well. The white cylindrical foam, if you can find it, works and looks better than the square stuff, like cut from a sheet of craft foam.

    • @Piterszczyk
      @Piterszczyk Před 9 lety

      Thx. I've got a block of the closed-cell foam (2'' thick), so I should be able to cut out a shape which is exactly the way I want it. If this doesnt work- well, there's always ebay, you can find almost everything in there ;)

      The reason why I'm asking is because I find the use of floatants and dessicants for the dry flies extremely annoying, so I would rather substitute with the foam whenever It's possible.
