      The first Lucy Maud Montgomery book I read was Anne of Green Gables, which is such a whimsical journey, leading me to read her other books. What kind of books do you like to read? I can give you recommendations based on your interests. A book I read a few months ago that I loved was Women Who Did, an anthology of short stories focusing on the concept of the new woman at the turn of the twentieth century.

      100% Scholarships are possible, but they must be achieved, and it's good to remember that they are rare. However, you could consider taking non-collateral loans if you get into a decent top university.

      Student council positions are not required. You can demonstrate leadership commitment in a multitude of ways including being the editor of your school’s literary magazine. I personally did not do anything specific in ninth grade to get into college, simply starting some of the long-term writing projects that I continued throughout high school. I am in twelfth grade now.

    I just want to let everyone know that if a university explicitly declares that they are test optional, there is no need to take the SAT or ACT if you feel it does not demonstrate your abilities. For someone who is not a good test taker, transcripts, recommendations, essays, and portfolios are enough. Demonstrating my passion for writing and history is much more beneficial for me. However, I am taking AP exams, which assess one’s aptitude in a single subject rather than a broad range of knowledge assessed on the SAT. Ultimately, each applicant must make their own decisions.

    • @UPIStudy
      @UPIStudy Před 7 měsíci

      We are glad that you shared this. However, there is more to college admissions than what you mentioned (from our founders who have attended Ivy League) - each case is separate. So, we recommend having a mentor for your college applications, which can be a counselor or a previous graduate of the university you are aiming for.

    • @imaginativebibliophile549
      @imaginativebibliophile549 Před 7 měsíci

      @Upistudy Absolutely. Every applicant is different and plans to study a different subject in college. There are many resources for application mentorship through counselors and advisors both in school and outside school.
