Wow ! I can't believe I've been watching your video's onwards to 3 yrs now. just watched this one again. loved the work on the MD. and I had to laugh when you were playing with "Doc" when he first smelled your glove. the thought ran through my mine of him saying to himself. "hey! this smells like Uncle Rusty! (seeing how most leather gloves are made of cow hide.) back when I was a kid I worked in a Tannery. still love the smell of leather. and every time I get to smell that it brings back memories of that time. the mill closed down over 60 yrs ago. uh oh I just dated myself!. Well you're a lucky man. You've found a life partner that laughs at your jokes, and you've found a job you love (at least it looks that way). Blessings on you and your family.
And this is why I love your channel, your not always rushing to get the newest technology, you take time and care in what you do and most of all you have a passion for farming and raising livestock and that is something that no computer could ever do.
My husband and I live in Ontario, Canada 🇨🇦 and we LOVE your channel. Whether it's tractor building or chasing piglets around. Keep up the good work. We love it all!!!
The best thing about getting power back in Texas is sitting down with a cup of coffee made in the kitchen and not a camp stove on the back porch, and enjoying another story from Pete. Thanks Pete!
Honestly though, it’s a few minutes every couple of days to smile and muse over the possibilities that this world offers outside of a desk job in a busy city
I have just come in from the paddocks, this morning I painted a room in my Grandmothers house. Tomorrow will be another hard work day.....and I am tired but in my happy place. I enjoy hard work, always have, always will. I dont know that many people get that, but hearing you talk about society today running on instant gratification, makes me wonder, how many people understand that hard work makes the the fruits of your labour so much sweeter.
You nailed it! UPS delivery drivers and trucks are all company , they work hard and are held to high standards. Their benefit is good pay, benefits, and pension (all Teamsters Union). Fed Ex trucks are all leased operators who are responsible for all expenses and are held to only one standard...get that box delivered any way you can!
I recently started watching your channel, and my father watches you all every week, and as a ups employee I agree with your assessment of the parcel industry. And its the entire industry that's going to crap. We use to sell a service, and the company heads have forgotten that. It's all about profit now, and it's made the industry suffer to the customer. It use to be an exciting thing to see the brown truck roll up, now you wonder what broken package you will have to send back this time. I really want to start a small farm soon maybe the next 2-3 years, but until then I will gladly enjoy watching and supporting Just a Few acres farm
Boy I can relate on all terms my friend. Fed ex ran over our dog in front of our garage door, young dog. Everyone in a big dang hurry!! I love my farm. It's just you stated it keeps me out of the bustle. However it finds me here. The animals I enjoy on your you tube. I enjoy the tractors as well. 656 lol. You keep up the great content and I hope for an early spring to help with the hay. I know long winter can get tight some times. Great stuff my friend. I have learned a great deal painting I will refer to this at some point to paint my 656. Thank you so much!!!
Useless tidbit for the day. Most all FEDEX drivers are actually employees of FEDEX Contractors. This I learned from my nephew who works for one of those contractors. On another note, I appreciate your perspective on the bigger things (and smaller ones too). I was just laid off from my job (first time ever in 45 years) and your vids are a calming respite from the stresses of the moment. Thanks Pete.
just a bit jelly of your 'calf whispering'. as a youngster, our neighbors had calves in pasture right next door (edge of small town 'neighborhood' of sorts). what fun, especially when they had a bottle feeder. such fond memories. while my dad's cattle herd was a bit farther away and the herd guarded by a brendle cow named Brendie (what else, lol) who was to be respected at all times.
Pete, really enjoy your videos! A joke for you; A piece of string walks into a bar. The string asks for a beer. The bartender says "get out of here, we don't serve your kind". The string hangs his head and leaves. Just outside the bar the string has a brilliant idea. He He ruffles his ends and ties himself in knots. The string goes back in the bar and says "Bartender, I'd like a beer!" The bartender replies "hey aren't you that piece of string that I just threw out?" The string replies "No I'm afraid not!
Pete, i love your channel. I like the variety of mechanical tractor restoration mixed with farm work and i totally agree with your philosophy on life. Maybe in future you could even include your clock restoration . Best wishes from England
Pete, you and your family are hands down my favorite CZcams channel. I’ve followed you for some time and it’s been great learning from you and watching your channel grow. Small time family farming with great values and older tractors. Excellent stuff. Please keep it up.
In winter, a farmer I used to farmhand for would run the hose over a rafter and unhook it and pull it this way and that to remove water and leave the end hanging. It never had ice in it and was always easy to get to. Just a suggestion. Love the channel.
When I'm working on something, Pete, I like to do the hardest part first so I have something to look forward to at the end of the day. Otherwise it feels like an uphill battle.
The soccer ball reminded me of giving our pigs old bowling balls when I was little. My granddad bought EVERYTHING at auctions and came home once with a pile of the defunct and untapped bowling balls. They say in the woods until we found a use for them. It was fun watching them push them balls with the snouts. Lol. Great memories. Thanks for your channel. You're appreciated.
Pete, the joy in your face as you're playing with calf 2012 is priceless. I was reminded of another of your recent videos when you mentioned that the rewards associated with farming sometimes outweigh the financial outlay. Be well. Spring is right around the corner.
I just want to say that you are a hard-working person at your farm and you are blessed to have a good partner next to you and see how much you enjoying to do what you do it makes my heart warm and excited that there's people that reminds me of my family. They leave in Russia and I grew up at the farm really miss the work and the fun that we always did when I was a little girl by the way keep up those jokes no matter what everybody's saying unfortunately you cannot make happy everybody's . And in this hard leaving world right now we need some jokes good or bad God bless your family stay healthy be happy peace
Use table salt in your glove and feed it to your calves , and after they realize what you’re giving them they will come right up to you every time they see you coming toward them!😊👍
Pete in the short 4 months or so I've been with the channel that moment with calf was probably the best. Shows you care about the animals and not just look at them as your next dollar
I love the synergy between you both as a couple. A true example to all who have no clue what a marriage is and what it really means. Thank you for sharing your life. Blessings
I love your channel. You continue to be an inspiration to me. I particularly loved the philosophical aspect of today's video, gives things a lot of depth!
Worked in a fab shop for a to short of a time. Got to go measure, draw out , cut material, put together by welding, sometimes making removable panels where you drill n tap. Then we paint. Enjoyed every step , boss could never figure out why that "grunt" work made me happy. Keep pushing that rope Pete .
I just want to say that your videos mean a lot and the honesty and enjoyment that you bring to each one is a welcome change from other content on youtube
Greetings Pete.... just recently discovered your channel. It's become my new morning ritual to watch your posts with my granddaughters right after breakfast. I appreciate your family quality content & the girls are fascinated by your activities. They now believe you and I should become friends and I should move closer to you so that I can help you with all your chores. I just retired and they seem to think that because I spend my days now busily going from chore to chore, I'd be able to help you because you're just as busy as I. Lol..... the perspective of three preschoolers. 👍👍👍
You got to love the way you react your cattle and how the cattle react to you that is the greatest thing I've seen you do my dad used to do the same thing and I was found myself doing the same thing it's just the greatest inner feeling I get when I used to do it dad used to say it's called Trust
Your videos bring us a bit of joy and peace. Love watching your success with the tractor rebuilding and seeing the cows and pigs and yes even listening to your jokes. Be well.
there was a time, when I was younger that, well, let's just say I would not have appreciated your jokes. but now, in my 60s, I find some funny, some very clever and a few just laughably bad. keep up the humor. I need all the smiles I can get.
You are a rare kind of guy these days. It reminds me of when I was a kid and visited my Uncle who had a huge farm for chickens and thousands of eggs. He use to ride me around on his lap in his old tractor. Meals were fantastic and the work was never done. I enjoy watching you guys more than I can put into words but somehow, I’m sure you understand.
Instantly gratified this Friday after work watching this video ! And I feel your pain with delivery drivers.... Amazon hit my parked truck in my driveway ! Great video
Just wanted to say how much I enjoy your channel. I grew up on a farm and while I’m not cut out to do it full time your videos remind me of so many good childhood memories. My Dad had a Super MDTA. I thought it was the coolest thing when it switched from gas to diesel. Can’t wait to see yours run!
Today's video and perceptions of the world, and farming today is exactly why I love this channel. No where near yourself in the farming yet, but in my endeavor the process to get to be able to plant is a huge passion of mine. Thank you very much for taking the time to video, and bring along several aspects of the farm today. Thank you sir, very well done video today.
I completely agree you get what you pay for and cheaper is rarely better. I always tell people fast, cheap, or done right you get to pick one. Hope you find some hay.
You are living the dream! I would love to have the land to farm. As a kid my aunt had a small dairy farm I grew up on and I sure miss it and its a big loss my kids couldnt grown up like that. Gives you character and works the mind everyday.
It gives me a great deal of satisfaction to get everything all painted up like new but at the same time it’s nerve racking trying to put it all back together without scratching everything up
Pete, you have quickly become one of my favorite channels to watch. I'm still stuck in the grind and love living vicariously through you. Keep up the farm. Oh, and I'm thinking we should start a #savesammy campaign...
As far as the race to the bottom... I'm with you 100%. I live in a downtown area and we had no grocery store anywhere near us... everything had moved to the suburbs and it was Walmart or some other regional super-mart. We set up a Co-Op in an empty space in the downtown area where local farmers could bring their produce and butchered meat to sell. I'm so proud of how far we've come, we're 4 years in and we're making enough money now that we can profit share with everyone that's believed in it and invested in it. It is a bit more expensive like you said but the cost of getting to those stores in the suburbs usually makes up some of that difference and the product is so much better. I really appreciate your channel and all that you do. The scene with you and the calf had me in tears... keep up the great work.
I need to go to bed now. I keep saying "oh, just one more video". I love your farm, the animals too. Poor Sammy. My great grandparents had a farm in Iowa. Makes me think how they might have lived. Thank you for sharing, looks like a lovely life being connected to the earth.
Yep I'm and old coot! just turned 80 few months ago. thanks for rhe resharing Pete. ECF
Best farm channel ever!
True God bless you
Yup
Well you're a lucky man. You've found a life partner that laughs at your jokes, and you've found a job you love (at least it looks that way). Blessings on you and your family.
a very wealthy man
the smell of those cowhide gloves may be not to the calf's liking LOL
HA HA HA. In the calf's mind, soon it will be my hide you'll be wearing in your hands. Better stay away from you Mr. Larsen.
never change Pete...you put the world into perspective
I lost my dad 7 years ago, so I appreciate your jokes, it's one thing I miss about him!
And this is why I love your channel, your not always rushing to get the newest technology, you take time and care in what you do and most of all you have a passion for farming and raising livestock and that is something that no computer could ever do.

Good luck down there! Glad things are looking better.
Every time I see a notification that says just a few aceres farm posted a video I get so happy
So true!

Love this channel, I'm not a farmer, but sure do enjoy the education you provide daily farm chores, and your jokes are the best.

Pete always has the best views in life. Watching from Winnipeg, MB.

I love your jokes and I know that your wife loves you because she laughs at them even when they are bad.
Pete, the joy in your face as you're playing with calf 2012 is priceless. I was reminded of another of your recent videos when you mentioned that the rewards associated with farming sometimes outweigh the financial outlay. Be well. Spring is right around the corner.
The pigs are getting pretty large!!!! And the Tractor Parts look WONDERFULLY RED!!!

Yet another awesome, entertaining video. Thank you for doing these!
Enjoyed your perspective today, Pete! Thanks for sharing.

Pete that was a great mix of things on the farm. Really enjoyed you and the new calf and Sammy.
That’s probably my favorite video of all the ones you have made. Keep up the good work.
Love to see the change in seasons.

Just what I needed today, a visit from Pete!

Hi Mr. Pete! It looks like you spent my birthday doing the same thing I did...WORKING!
Great to see the parts turning red, looking good. And you’re a dab-hand with that spray gun!

You are such a down to earth man.
God Bless you

Hello pete. Keep up with jokes. In the world we live in we all need someone to put a smile on our faces. Your videos are spot on I really enjoy them
Great show. Stay safe...
Thank you.
Pete, you make too much sense. We need more people who think like you!
It gives me a great deal of satisfaction to get everything all painted up like new but at the same time it’s nerve racking trying to put it all back together without scratching everything up
A guy was wondering and hoping you didn’t fall down at the beginning of your video. Your right hip was all wet. Love the RUN RUN RUN!
