    Great video, cant wait to get mine. One thing I learned while researching suppressors is that everything is a compromise. If they added a baffel to the blast chamber, it would increase back pressure for semi autos causing heavier cycling, more port pop, and more gas in your face while also increase weight and cost. The alaskan seems to take into account as many compromises as possible and makes the best of them.

    Excellent job, thank you! I just picked up mine from jail and need to decide what attachment system I’ll be using. My intention was to use direct thread on the bolt guns and another system on the AR systems, but we’ll see given your feedback. Thanks again.

    Good video content. I just got my alaskan360 and your video was the closest of any video out there, of demonstrating how the GD RUM mount actually works-close. There is no way i would dink around with direct thread, instead of a dedicated brake mount from rugged for each rifle I own that are threaded. Same price to be able to use the RUM i think is not a lot of money. Now the cage and threaded barrel and all that for my glock 9mm will be a lot of money a,d well worth the convenience of using the RUM that we paid for anyway! Thanks!

      @Rob_Shoot surge X well have much superior sound suppression over the 360. My son has the surge 7.62 and that thing is very quiet. But the 360 is very versatile on a lot of calibers. I would get a silencerco 36m /46m over the 360 if I had to do it over.

    I kind of regret getting it honestly. I bought it for the weight + larger bore + durability specs compared to others.
    After getting it, i realized 50% of the can has no baffles. It doesn't suppress very well on anything other than pistol calibers. I have to wear hearing protection on 5.56 ar-15 so therefore it doesnt do what its intended. 😢

      @WayneP1973  Před 6 měsíci +2

      I agree with you 💯 I regret it also. There are much better options available hybrid 36 or the hybrid 46 would be my choice knowing what I know now but unfortunately it was my first suppressor and I didn’t know any better. I feel like it could have a minimum of two more baffles in the 360.

    • @clay4542

      @@clay4542 I have multiple suppressors that are perfectly hearing safe on 5.56. why does that myth keep popping up. People keep saying that because they heard someone else say it. A good suppressor will make pretty much every round hearing safe.

    • @clay4542
      @clay4542 Před 5 měsíci +3

      @@TheGreatWhiteNorth1 5.56 is supersonic and is not hearing safe. You might be fine with doing a couple shots without ear pro but any more than that will start causing damage. A quick google search says that anything over 85db will start causing damage. You guys are making it sound like you have magical suppressors that can break the law of physics and make 5.56 hearing safe. Go to pewscience and look at the data, some of the best suppressors on the market only lower the db of 5.56 anywhere from 132db to 140db.

    I’m considering this as my first can. Mainly to suppress my single shot deer rifle which is 35 Whelen (aka .35-06). I know it may not be as quiet as the Omega 36M. But being much lighter and a bit shorter is more appealing to me. My main concern is will it knock down the concussive blast enough that I can comfortably hunt without hearing protection? I plan on trying it on a few other guns but I think my expectations are realistic. I think it will fit its roll as a .35 cal hunting can well, and at least hold me over on the other guns until I can buy another dedicated 30 cal can for them down the road. Any thoughts or suggestions on this?

      Hello. I think you would be very happy with the 360. It is actually pretty quite in bolt or lever guns. It is a really versatile suppressor. Rugged makes the 360 TI model that is super lightweight but at an added cost. I’m really happy with it. A dedicated 30 caliber can is going to be quieter, but they are heavier too the amount of different ammunition you can shoot througt it is very appealing. Rugged has an excellent customer service also. It’s actually a great first can. Hope this helps. Wayne.
