Thanks! I replaced so much sheet metal on Christine that I wasn't going to trust that anything was in the right place. Even after this test fit, I still ended up having to make more tunes and tweaks as I was doing final prep for paint.

All I can say is after u got it stripped of paint and body filler is WOW it was rough . You fine sir are a trooper to tackle that job . I’ve been there though it’s a TON of work. Your attitude and enthusiasm towards it are of the highest caliber. You obviously have an unmatched love for 56 Chevys they are my favorites of the tri fives . Stay the course and keep up the good work.

Thanks! I'm very close to mudding the body and getting it super straight. Should be back to regular weekend work next weekend!

Good job! I ordered a driver side quarter panel, at the suggestion of my son, rather than try and patch the bashed in part my bull rearranged for me. Have never done one before, and hate to cut up my car, but has to be done and my son has done a bunch of them, fortunately! ;) Got the best deal from Carid Auto Parts on the panel. And I found a quarter panel stainless trim from an guy in Florida. Shipping is eating me alive on parts! Also, I added a 2nd window unit a/c to my shop so I can stand to work out there. This heat is brutal on an old man. :) Keep up the good work!

As long as you can figure out where best to splice the panel, that's definitely a safer way to go. Warping should be controllable. Let me know how it turns out and whether or not that bull is now rib eye and ground meat!

July and August have been filled with scheduling demands that kept me out of the garage! That's going to continue for a little bit longer but I'll be back on track soon!

I am currently going back and reviewing a lot of your previous videos. Just received my driver side quarter panel from Carid. Not real excited about cutting the quarter panel off my 56 sedan, but my Son thinks that's the best way to get rid of the Longhornbull smashed rear portion of the quarter panel. ( Long story. ;) ) Just wish there was a true fit for a sedan rather than trying to make a hardtop quarter panel work! Looks like they could at least send a template or something. :( Oh well, working on front floor panels right now. Keep up the good videos, they are truly helpful !!

Good video. Lots to work on with all the critical alignments. I don't know the history on this car but it appears that it has been thru quite a lot. All this hard work will pay off in the end. Your expertise and attention to detail are what make your videos.

Appreciate the confidence! I'm learning more and more about the unknown history of Christine. A lot of it can't be good!

As usual, doing a great job with the tools at hand. Like you the Louisiana heat has been brutal so my work on the 57 has slowed to a crawl. I'm using your car as a template and noting each issue and how to approach it. Thanks for all you do!

What size wire do you use fior your sheet metal welding you seem to be very good at it

0.023 solid wire with 75/25 Argon-CO2 shielding gas. Episode 23 has the full explanation: czcams.com/video/CBemc9rAIuE/video.html

Do you think it may have helped you faster to bolt the inner fender wells to the fender, and had used the actual bolts to manipulate the fender to the desired height? Not saying the steps you took weren’t effective, just wondering if the friction of the bolts would have made the process easier. I haven’t reached your point of progress with my ‘57 ( monsoon season has been aggressive this year), but when I do reach this point I’m just curious if it would do the same job.
    Keep up the great work!

Again... with all the ajoining surfaces you had to massage its not surprizing it needs a lot of attention.....from what I can see it looks like the rockers are in a little...may be just the video....one movement here can make a bigger movement somewhere else....name of the game.... keep at it....
