  • Weekly Newsletter: geni.us/mpertz... When I was growing up playing soccer, my Mom always used to tell me, "you never know who is watching." Never was that more true than when I was trying to get hired as a firefighter.
Becoming a firefighter can be very competitive. Really, it's competitive to get hired at any job. The question you need to ask yourself is what can you do to separate yourself from the rest of the pack? Whether it be how you dress, act, perform or whatever it is that you do you MUST find a way to be unique and memorable.

This advice is very useful in all cases of life, it does not matter whether a person is going to become a firefighter, a programmer or anyone else - very universal. So, thanks for your advice and inspiration! You are like an older brother, from whom useful wisdom can be learned.

I get called crazy. I am about to make a decision that will change my life forever I’ve been a volly three years and I love it, I feel like I’m ready to do this for a career , I can’t get enough. What makes me stand out is my story. Scared of death of fire petrified, but I love it I love helping others and I love running toward my fear because I realize I’m stronger then the fear that consumes me and it doesn’t have a grip of my life and I’m proud
Of it love watching your video inspiring and realize I can do this

Hey Edwin, good question. If you find another department that would be a better fit for you/your family for various reasons...you should do what is best for you/your family

Hope my department doesn’t need the CPAT sheet, I have a copy HR has there’s I’m in the middle of a move and lost the paperwork (a lot of hands have helped me move so it can be any where)

Of you are a volunteer and have a class B uniform, should you wear that to an interview for a career job?
