mate you guys have bought well & look good so far....that said nearly all Prem teams have been buying into record sales & strengthened in many areas. Going to be 1 hell of a Jeckyl n Hyde season IMO. Wouldn't be surprised If you finished 7th or just stay up, that's how it rolls in season proper

A tough match. A game we could have easily lost. Heaton kept us in the game. The good news is if you can win games like this and to be fair it was far from friendly. Then the coming season looks very good.

@@nuno_alex505 he was referring to the intensity and physicality of the game. Both teams put out their strongest XI, and from the looks of it both teams treated the game as a challenge.
@@sallikeschickenandchips I think Leipzig were really complacent when facing villa, due to the small challenge that a team like villa put on and also thanks to the lack of objective that this game offered. It happens to all big teams in pre season, resulting in a lot of unusual scoreboards.

RBL were incredibly tough, almost bordering on dirty and were physically dominating for large periods. Overcoming this is a good sign for the upcoming season. Also, their attitude for a "friendly" was pretty disgusting, making those two late goals all the more sweet!!!

Hopefully El Ghazi will be fit for the trip to Spurs. If not, Trez is a more than adequate replacement for him. Also by then, hopefully we will have signed Said Benrahma, another winger and another striker. Unfortunately the striker won't be Maupay, due to him having a medical at Brighton, but I'm very sure the Villa Board have a plan B. Whoever they get in, as long as he's better than Kodja, I'll be happy.

Jota will cost us goals because he doesn't do enough going back. He has to be more productive in defense as well or we're going to get caught time and time again. There's lots of work to do still with our defensive side of the game and the wings has been a major source of contention for us over the past 4/5 yrs.. We have to fix this issue or we're going to find it very difficult against a lot of sides in the #epl. That's a sad fact..
