Mercy, I have watched your videos. Recently my hair thinned out during the pandemic when we're able to go to the salon. I have a natural stylist that uses design essential products on my hair. I use say ajaa natural oils , moisturizer and jamaican castor oil. My dermatologist gave me a shampoo that has salicytic acid in it for psoriasis. I noticed it has other ingredients that I couldn't pronounce. Needless, to say , my hair thinned out and I am sooo hurt. I have done the big chop twice. So now , I am wearing it natural without flat ironing it. My stylist doesn't use rice water. I do go under the hydrator every two weeks. The name of the shampoo is Keralyt5. I will never use this again and leave on my hair for 30 minutes. How can I get my hair back thick and shoulder length where it was? Cathy g.

Tight braids, relaxer, heat treatment, hair dressers who don't know what their doing 🙈 trying to force your hair to be something it is not. Only at 29 I turned fully natural and my hair looks better than ever. If a hair dresser doesn't know what they're doing I call it out immediately.

I'm pass 60 now and I stopped relaxing my hair 2yrs ago, it has grown, but not as rapid as I would like. I've gotten some great tips from your videos, so please keep doing what you are doing, some of us really appreciate your knowledge and journey. Also I'm from the Natural Era where Black is Beautiful and we are Black and Proud!! I'm so glad to see young beautiful black women; all shades come back to our Natural Beauty! Let's learn to complement each other and not hate and compete against one another, it's not necessary and it doesn't make us Beautiful! God Bless young Lady! Great video!

My hair has no problem growing but I have always had thin edges. Both of my daughters have thick hair with full edges... In 2018 I worked & prayed to achieve 5 important goals, learn how to drive, obtain my driver's license, lose weight, grow longer thicker healthier hair & Re-marry! My hair was breaking and it just wasn’t working. I started using the blow dryer when I wash my hair every 2 weeks and my hair is doing much better. It holds moisture the entire 2 weeks now and no breakage!! You should try it - make sure you use heat protector and a strengthening deep conditioner for protein and a moisturizing leave in conditioner. Another thing I noticed is that most of the girls who don’t use heat now did in the past and I think it loosened their hair to a manageable point so now they don’t have to use heat anymore.

They really can find out the inner issues like lack of vitamins and minerals, how stress can impact your hair growth and many more inner issues. I'm new to the channel I love your positive vibe about natural hair growth.👏😊

To those that have wrote negativity about your repeated videos, hair journey and the length of your hair with doubt and impunity are simply covetous trolls. The caste system and deprecating color-ism we as black people have created in our own community is worse than that of others races that originally created this depiction. As a dark skinned women, I continuously battle with my hair wows and watching your insightful channel has gained me the length of 12 inches and counting (THANK YOU). Don't allow trolls and those that lack accountability and indolent within themselves destroy your light and dull that shine (haters got to hate, it's their job so be flattered). Being on social media can be draining especially being vulnerable and sharing your personal life; some ppl are uncomfortable with that strength so don't let their demons energetically diminish you. Keep on with whatever content you feel necessary to share and just know your dedicated "family" will always be here to watch it. You are beautiful. You are motivated. Your are strong. So spread this over a month. (1.) Rice water, cap hair & wash that day in first week of month; then bed down hair in protective style. Two weeks later (2.) Aloe vera plus oils (see video) cap hair & wash that day. Then put into protective style. Do that EVERY month & OMG... mine has gone wild with growth & strong with little shedding (more shedding than Mercy tho). Watch her videos, select what you want to try & go for it. 🙏🏽

Love your channel. I never comment, but love seeing your growth overtime. ☺️
It’s crazy that people think Afro textured hair can’t grow long.. they completely dismiss the short hair in African tribes is by choice. Once upon a time ALL African people (the individual ethnic groups) had their own set of beauty standards and many still do.
Black Americans can also grow long hair but like most things in America, the choices we have and make have negative affects on our bodies. Americans have been lazy for a long time and the results show in weight, hair and illness. So again Black, Afro textured hair can grow long it’s all about unlearning what we’ve been taught, and re-learning what’s been suppressed. We are organic organisms. We are built to last guaranteed for at least 120 yrs if we take care of ourselves as designed. Blessings.

You are sooooooo right !!! Anybodys hair will grow!! A lot of us are just not patient and consistent enough to work at it until we see great results! Yes, it takes more time to improve it but so what??!! It still grows!!! I'm so sick of this BRAINWASHING that we keep allowing to happen to many of us!! If we wear wigs, weaves, etc its by choice and NOT because our hair won't grow...and by the way, millions of Caucasian, Spanish, (whomever) wear weaves too...Brittany Spears, Kim Kardashian, and some people that I know to name a few....There are so many beautiful options out there when we style our hair (whether its our real hair or not) but ladies we HAVE TO STOP saying "My hair won't grow". Its completely untrue!!!! I've learned that while drinking plenty of water and exercise wakes up my body , my hair grows more as well. Anything that we work at will follow with wonderful results.

Who think black people can not have long hair, hair is hair, some like it long some like it short, black lovelies like to express themselves with different hair styles and colours, they would spend thousands on hair alone, Yes we can have long hair we just choose what we want, we don't play by the what you should look like rule. So educate yourselves dummies and leave us alone. We do not need to prove ourselves. ❤ keep sharing your hair journey you are inspirational, keep it up ✌

Thank you Mercy!!! You have truly shared your hair journey, I appreciate your videos. All of them. Key word consistency. I grew my hair out from a big chop for what feels like the 20th time. I went to a beautician who suggested I get the BRAZILIAN BLOWOUT, it was really pretty until it started to thin out and break, now I just prepoo with aloe Vera and an oil avocado or Coconut oil overnight, get up wash, then condition with JOICO products rinse with rice water, rinse that out, use JOICO leave in condition, moisturize with a mixture of virgin fertilizer, wild growth oil and blackjamaican castor oil mixture then Shea raw moisture, braid in 4 braids and massage a few times a week, that’s it every 2 weeks. My hair is still shedding from the BLOWOUT. That was a huge mistake. My hair is growing, I do take Curl vitamins.alternating with skin hair and nails, it’s been a journey.

You are speaking facts I wore a weave so much that I was paying stylists to pull my hair out I was so embarrassed. I kept getting a weave because I was too scared to cut it off because I didn't think I was pretty enough to cut it off plus I had bald spots and alopecia .I found myself in a relationship with a guy who asked me what was underneath my weave I never let him see but it was at that point that I realized I have to take care of my hair so I prayed and I started watching videos of people like you beautiful women who had compassion for people and were bold enough to speak on caring for your hair I went to a dermatologist they really did not do too much but I didn't follow up .but God showed me what to do for my hair I had the most store up hair I stopped going to salon because other women had beautiful hair and mine wasn't. I started going to people houses or let them come to my house. To make a long story short aloe vera and coconut oil works for me this is my first time seeing your video but you were speaking facts . I am able to retain length because I do what you said I don't do things to continue to manipulate my hair I had balding in the middle and in the front part of my hair in the middle it's growing my husband noticed and he pays attention to me ( I thank God for him) but it was so embarrassing I still have a small patch of baldness in the front I am going to see another dermatologist but my hair is growing thicker and longer thanks for sharing your experience I hit the subscribe button you are right anyone can have beautiful long hair be blessed

I’ve always struggled with my hair and found it hard to grow it beyond a certain length but after using your tricks and tips I have seen such a huge difference and can happily say that my hair is the healthiest it has been. Aloe Vera and rice water are now a staple in my wash routine and I’ve increased the amount of natural products I use in my hair. To anyone who has doubts that Afro hair cannot grow to be long, thick and healthy you are wrong! All you need is care, patience and really research what you are putting in your hair x
