This Girona series is great, thanks for taking us along for the ride!
Thanks Russ and Laura! I'm enjoying your trip and I'm surprised how good Laura communicates and understands the language. Cheers!
They are so boutiquey, hard to imagine how they stay in business with so many in the area, seems like many of them are a retirement hobby . They are very artsy and classy looking, thanks for taking us along.
Those places look way too fancy
King's Landing!
And to top it all off, spanish drivers are generally very careful with cyclist. It is the safest place I've felt on the road, drivers actually follow the law of keeping 1,5m away from cyclists who, bytheway, are allowed to ride side by side. Maybe everyone knows someone who cycles so it is best to keep it safe.
You shoud visit the historical bike shops in Girona, BiciOci, Trafach, Bike Girona, Radikal Bikes, Centre Biker Girona, they've been in Girona for decades. Also you have the local brands Megamo Factory and Tactic Factory in Girona.
Hey, Catalan cyclist here. Girona has exploded as a bike destination and that's pretty cool. However, that also lead to a huge increase in rent prices.
There's no free lunch...
I agree! These were more or less fancy "Boutique" bike shops that caters to the big money cyclists! Got to find the friendly low budget cycle shop for the down and out average joe cyclist!
Going to Girona for cycling is like going to Monaco for F-1… it’s the playground of the rich… it’s like going to baseball game and wondering where you can watch some hockey.
he noted @ 10:35 that when you leave the center of town, you can find the "less boutiquey" shops. ;-)
Such a fun walking tour. Adding Girona to our list of places to visit the next time we're in Spain.
Gorgeous city! Thanks for the tour.
Totally a fun video! Loved seeing how different their shops are.
You know it’s when good when the loudest sounds you hear are kids playing.
What a bike Disneyland. That food looked so go. Thanks for the video and take care, Al
I have not seen anything like this in the USA.. just LBS with the same stuff. The bike shops in Bern are the same. All high end with beautiful bikes for rent.
Thanks for sharing your vacation. Old Spain is nothing like I thought it would be.
Tip: set your frame rate to 25 instead of 24 while making videos in Europe to avoid the flickering lights. Cheers.
US bought GoPro. No 25p option.
@@PathLessPedaledTV 😓
@@PathLessPedaledTV is there a 50hz (instead of 60Hz) option for anti flicker?
@@teddgram no.
I was curious as to why the lights were flickering.
If there were an award for best CZcams Miniseries, you would win it! These have been absolutely great. I will be sorry to see you head home (but probably not as sorry as you!).
That ENVE pull over was special. I hope u got it for her.
Really enjoying this series - it’s nice to see the area by bike as well as on foot. You two are doing a great job communicating in Spanish!
Nice surprise to see Bikecat and Jaume!
I rented a bike from Service Course when I didn't want to bring my own and that bike was awesome! I wanted to buy it afterward :) Great communication with the guys there over email and it was a no-fuss pick-up and drop-off.
Love bike shops. Wish we could keep more of the small good ones open in Portland.
Great to follow sling on your travels!
Loving this series 👍
Muy bien.....appreciate your tour of the place 😀👍🏻
Dang no low end, messy, disorganized bike shops there with hundreds of parts piled up everywhere? Those are my favorite.
he mentioned at the end @ 10:35 that when you leave the center of town, you get to the "less boutiquey" shops. ;-)
Awesome coverage 👏
Thanks for tour.
outstanding peek into this world. thanks
Spanish subscriber, hope you're having a good time in here
Recently rode in Mallorca and Girona. Tons of great shops and rentals in both but Girona is more concentrated. Castelli just opened their first brick and mortar and chose Girona, which they feel is the international centre for cycling.
@@tongotongo3143 Sorry, but I had my own bike with me so I can't answer your questions. However, many of the shops mentioned in the videos have websites with rental info and they were all very helpful when I talked to them. You should have a look at a few sites because sizes and models vary, along with price. Rental terms are likely online
That's what i like about Girona, I did spot the Castelli retail store. I believe Trek will also be opening a flagship store soon as well.
This is a little embarrassing...I was sitting here wondering why so many people were speaking Spanish. This whole time, I was thinking Girona was in Italy...yeah, I feel really smart right now!
@@superdeluxesmell More than likely that's why. They rhyme and Girona sounds pretty Italian. Grazie!
@@cjohnson3836 Someone else suggested Verona and I thought that had to be it, but I think maybe Girona was an amalgam of Genoa and Verona.
@@tongotongo3143 never say that to a Spanish or Italian guy…
You’re American, right ?
@@tongotongo3143 you’re also American, right ?
Everything looks very luxorious.
The center city is very tourist facing. The rest of the city isn’t.
Russ noted @ 10:35 that when you leave the center of town, you can find the "less boutiquey" shops. ;-)
That is just awesome
Can’t wait to move there! 2 more years!
Hey Russ, thanks for another great video! Have you ever tried fishing with a "hobo" or "yoyo" hand reel? They look smaller to pack than a fly rod, though you lose some versatility.
great video! keep it up.
Huh! Could not suspect it would turn that inspirational.
Laura Spanish is really good, understood everything she was saying, surprise
The nice lady of Tata Bikes speaks Spanish with an Italian accent.
A wonderful place for sure...
Like no.1000 keep the good work going. Loving the channel
Coffee and bikes. A worldwide synergy.
It's been four years since I was there and it appears there has been an explosion of cycling businesses. It's the roads and the culture that respects bicycles that makes Girona special and now I fear it has gone too far with the commercialization of those elements. But, where in America could that happen? Where is America's Girona?
Nowhere. It's against the law in terms of planning, zoning, and land use. The USA is a failed state.
Insane prices alright
This was great but on another note I see you wear a Sinn...wonderful watches, mine is never off my wrist!
I love Girona.
are you guys staying there for winter or are you going somewhere else?
So Russ and Laura how many shirts and gilets have you bought? Do tell. Enjoyed the video thanks for sharing x
Ha. None. Mostly just jamon.
@@PathLessPedaledTV Enjoy !
bro in italy rocking a mariposa shirt !
I also thought girona was in italy ,every day a learning curve 🤔
What was the name of the shop you said you covered in another video? I didn't catch the name. Heading there next summer. Cheers
Eat, Sleep, Cycle.
@@trivegguy yes, but what was its name? 😁
hahahaha! older than the US!
Girona yes! .... is it bakery first then ride or ride then bakery?!!
bakery first, brewery after...

Ride video coming up?
We have a few already.
As a Brit who is very pro Europe and a Europhile, who lives in SE Asia, this series has been wonderful.
Singapore?
@@HGZie NE Thailand, 40 kms from the Mighty Mekong river and the Laos border.
@@michaelhayward7572 beautiful region
@@HGZie it is indeed, thankyou.
Every time I visit Britain it’s blatantly obvious that nobody there is anti-Europe.
Nobody.
Many are anti-EU though, which is a completely different thing.
Enjoy your stay in SE Asia, it’s wonderful there ❤
I wish the US was as as walkable as this. Truly an underdeveloped and frankly, embarrassing, nation in terms of urban planning.
Wonderful place. In the old days it was not so nice to live. People packed in, often scraping rent to sleep standing for the night, or slum it outside. No waste disposal, it was chucked out of the window, everything! Worse of all - there were no bikes and few could afford a horse! It's amazing how much the industrial revolution has improved the lives of so many. Perhaps too many of us today just sit at home in front of screen though. Reminds me to get out and get some adventures. Loved watching yours though, best use of the screen!
too bad you didn't take a trip to New England.
but i guess Spain is kind of a close second...
kind of?
Dude I am so confused by these Virona videos
Can’t help you there 🤷🏽♂️
I'm sorry but what they told you about the jewish history makes no sense. There was no jewish quarter in Girona (actually in the whole country of Spain) during the WWII. The jewish quarter of Girona disappeared at the end of the Middle Ages, in the year 1492. I guess that the lady mistook with the dates.
