  • Tired of those headlight restoration kits only lasting a few weeks? Consider just swapping out the entire headlight assembly! In this video, an average dad will change out the headlight assemblies on a 2011 Rav4 to make it look newer.
Thanks for watching, hopefully it inspired you!

Good to see replacing my old headlights might be a lot easier than I thought. Nice tip also about the hard to reach bolts and electric tape.

Sirspam, thanks for the feedback! Ya if your car is common enough the headlight assemblies are affordable, it's definitely worth considering!

Seems most things are more difficult on one side than the other, was the same when I did struts a while back too. I think (emphasis on think) its just about one side having less space in general, the layout never being symmetrical (especially if front wheel drive), and the fuse box being on one side so the cables are shorter and stiffer. But hey, im no mechanic. Just like to do as much as I can on my own, the worst that can happen is I mess up and have to take it to a shop anyway.
You seem alot more handy than the average dads I know though!

Yup, with some patience and research you can often do more than you think.
      Thanks!

Thank you! I want to attempt this myself. I have a 2006 Toyota RAV4 and I’d like to try to do some updates myself. It’s been an incredible vehicle and I hope to keep it a while longer. Also watched your video on fixing rust and looking to try that out. Thanks for the advice on where to purchase the items!
