- Genshin Impact 4.5 is introducing a new Chronicled Wish banner system. I break down everything we know about this banner and also speculate on what future Chronicled Wish banners could look like. I also go over all the pros and cons and many other nitty gritty details.

@@khnh9739 The fate point would still exist since its basically just replacing the guarantee of a character.... Once a limited event banner ends it doesn't mean your guarantee goes away. They had to make someway of guaranteeing a specific character which is why they added the fate point thing.
If you really want a character and saved the fate point doesn’t matter. Plus there is not a specific 4 stars so you don’t just “do a random 10 pull” Literally only hurts people who pull instantly.
Yes, there would have. It’s kind of ballsy of them to acknowledge that these 5 stars are less desirable (plain ‘old’), but still keep the same soft and hard pity. Also, if there are no rate-up 5 stars, it will be harder to get specific constellations for your favorite 4 stars. To me, this is a shameless way of getting you to pull their vintage units with less favorable conditions.

Could they just do something... nice... for a change? Like, truly thoughtful and nice? This Chronicle wish is so close to being perfect, but it has that stupid Epitomized Path system and doesn't carry over pity. Just let us pick a target and don't make it so complicated, everyone is happy, newer whales that missed Tighnari will still whale for their R5 Hunter's Path while the rest of us can have a nice chill time going for Mona or Jean and if we don't get them, we can go for Qiqi on the Liyue one! Why does it have to be so hard?

For someone who has been playing the game for like 3 years I have most of the units on this banner, and only thing that is enticing to me is the beacon and hunter, and you can still lose and never get them theoretically cause, if it had gaunranteed type mechanism that was being carried to the next patch like in limited character banner, for the selected option, it would have been way more considerable and worth pulling on to.

@@Monkey_D_Luffy56 The 50/50 refers to the 50% chance you have of getting your desired 5* character when you pull a 5*. On the Featured banner, if you lose the 50/50 you get a random 5* from the Standard banner (character or weapon) which has a huge loot pool. If you lose the 50/50 on the new Chronicled banner, your 5* will be guaranteed to be one of 5 other 5*s on that banner (there are 6 5* characters and you pick one to target), and it won't be a weapon.

No. It means that on a particular banner you have 1 chance out of 2 to get the character or weapon that you want.
Failing to get it is losing the 50/50 which means that the next time you reach a 5star, you are guaranteed (100%)

@@Monkey_D_Luffy56 if you fail 50/50 and then u summon more after that and didnt get the desired character, your fate points wont carry over but the pity you made after you failed the 50/50 will carry over. The guarantee/fate point does not carry over only the pity.

From 0 pity/0 fate/no guarantee, It lowers the average number of pulls required to get a time limited weapon by ~20-30% compared to if they were featured on a regular weapon banner (and a much bigger % if you really want a standard weapon like, say, skyward sword).
The only caveats are 1) you need the weapon you want to be on that new banner, which might take a long time, and 2) I assume there won't be gacha 4* weapons like Xiphos.
There is a slight difference between the "does not carry over" properties of the weapon banner and the chronicled banner. In the weapon banner you can guarantee a 50/50 between the two featured weapons if your last 5 star weapon on the weapon banner was a standard banner weapon, this pity carries over. However, since anything you get on chronicled wish is considered "featured", you should only pull when you can guarantee getting two 5 stars.

@@madiha_tanveer273 you get 2 fate points to guarantee a weapon on the 3rd pull, but that's not what carries over. what carries over on weapon banner is 1) your pity count to the next 5 star 2) if the last 5 star you got was NOT a limited weapon (aka you lost the 75/25) your next pull is guaranteed to be one of the two limited ones and not another concurrent standard weapon. the pull after that, however.. is a 75/25 again.

I think they should've converted the Standard Banner into this, make the rolls used in this banner into Acquaint Fate (thus, incentivizing people who buy/earn Acquaint Fates using Starglitter or with real money).. Additionally, I think they should make the banner permanent and changing only after a few patches or when there's a special event (I.E. Windblume for Mondstadt Banner, Lantern Rite for Liyue Banner, and Inazuma Festival, and etc.)

I actually disagree with your reasoning on why they're only using intertwined fates M8. Well yes most dont bother to save their acquaint fates, but they could have given the option to use both fates and I think that would make a lot more sense without even putting a microscopic dent in their financials

A real smart businessman can think long term and implement futures that makes the customers happy and keeps them using the service long term.
They might make slight less money with this suggestion, but it will sure as hell keep players engaged with the game longer and in the long term it will make them more money.
But of course we cant expect this of Mihoyo/Hoyoverse, its a company deeply infected with greed and a lack of care for their customers. The way they made this banner is just another proof of that.

@@el7284my dude, the free acquaint fates are limited, so you still have to pay or grind to get them. In order to get the guarantee you want, you need 160 pulls. Meaning you wont be able to free to play your way into getting the character or weapon...lol they will not lose at all
for f2ps, this is not a recommended banner for you. the rate on/off system is tricky for resource-limited players, but fortunately good banner for weapon collectors
It's mostly only for pity builders. Those who can save have better chances to get the characters they want. For example, I've been wanting Klee for years but there was always something stopping me from wishing and I have quite a few wishes saved up. Plus I wouldn't mind the other characters, except maybe diluc and mona
if you can save ~90-180 wishes, then its not a bad system. just dont "build pity" on this banner
We also don't know if ALL those weapons they showed will be on the banner at the same time. It's possible they just showed them for future reference, but then they have fewer of them on each individual banner.
Also, I think it's a bit unfair to called the Standard banner weapons 'trash.' They're still very good general purpose weapons that are going to be better than most 4* weapons for any character. Plus, another advantage you didn't mention is that this is a much easier way of getting refinements for those weapons as well. An R5 version of any of those weapons must certainly be just as good or even better than an R1 version of a 'limited banner' weapon like Becaon or Hunter's Path.
Eh, it really depends. For example, Amos Bow (not on this banner but still a standard banner weapon) has absolutely no use beside being a statstick for anyone that isn't charge attacking. While it certainly can be better than 4 star weapons, something like Hunter's Path has both crit rate and some elemental damage bonus. My point is that it really depends on the character and the weapon; there's a reason that for a good chunk of characters, their BiS weapon is a four star, or there's a 4 star that is really good for them.

@@jamescampbell5734 My friend you are at least 2 years behind. Ganyu's BiS has been Aqua Simulacra since it released. It does way more damage in a melt team, her other insanely good weapons are Hunter's Path and The First Great Magic since they both outdamage Amos by a good amount and after those it's Amos.

there is also no rate up 4 star in the new banner so this is also a thing that makes normal event banner different from this new banner
I wish they just made the fate point turn over the next banner. 😢 But nevertheless, the weapons might be the best deal for me bec I don't have a lot of them and most, if not all, I don't mind getting copies.

I feel like the characters that will be thrown onto the chronicled wish will *exclude* archons (& maybe harbringers) and additionally only *include* unpopular characters. Characters that stay relevant & keep raking in lots of money per limited banner (yelan & hu tao) won’t be added, even though their last reruns were awhile ago & meet the “requirements”.
At the end of the day, their goal is to make as much money as possible - and this is just another way to do so
Of course they will not added characters and weapons the still popular/META and giving a lots of money.
If their goal is to make as much money as possible they should sell more skins which is using genesis crystal that players have to bought it. And make sure the skins are worth it(with new animations) that make players want to buy it

They said it's only the characters that had 3 reruns and haven't reruned in a long time, archon are retuning once every year, obviously that they won't be in this banner

People seem to forget that they will try and put as many 'on theme' Standard 5 stars in each Chronicled Wish. So I'm pretty confident the next Chronicled wish is going to consist of:
- Qiqi
- Keqing
- Ganyu
- Childe
Then the other two could be between:
- Yelan
- Hu Tao
- Zhongli
I'm not entirely sure if they'd put an archon on the Chronicled Wish - that's why I'm not too sure about Zhongli. They might also pick one of Yelan/Hu tao alongside Zhongli. It might be 'too good' if they had both on the banner but who knows.
I don't expect Archons to be put on that yet. I don't expect to see Yelan or Hu Tao (or Kazuha) there either because they know these sell.
If they always want to have 6 characters, and with always 3 from the standard pool, I could see Kokomi and Tighnari.
Yes I agree with you, Venti isn't on the current one for 4.5 so we can be almost certain that archons won't be featured on the Chronicled Wish
@@Pingu2010 statistically that would make sense, but they seem to be doing these banners thematically by region, which makes sense too given *most* of them came out during the version of that region.
I'd expect them to postpone Liyue themed banner until Shenhe will get eligible for Chronicled Wish to be honest.
I genuinely feel like if they do that, it will be in quite a long time - if we assume they give Shenhe her rerun the patch after whats been announced (i.e. patch 4.6), she will then need to wait another 4 or so patches to qualify as "not having reran recently", that puts us at Natlan basically.@@poohowl389
I mean HI3 has the same system, it's not just a Genshin thing. Personally, I think saying change to blue fates is just for who stacks those, meanwhile the majority just spend it right the moment they get it. I still think is a good addition, maybe in other regions, with less standard characters, the banner can be better.
They're probably always going to keep half of them standard lol. Its never going to be better. Its going to feature 2 limited characters people barely pull for, and one that people will want. Its a cashgrab, what a surprise.

I'm pretty sure Fontaine and Inazuma banners are not coming soon because of no standard banner characters. Inazuma banner would be stupid for hoyoverse since all of the characters from Inazuma are cracked.

50/50 doesn't carry over, unless lucky you'll spend either more or the same amount of EVENT fates as weapon banner but get less stuff, probably shorter duration than any other banner....
literally no redeeming quality about it except "oh you can now get some stuff without waiting for a rerun" and the beacon/hunter's path.
other than that it's just a worse event banner.

@@micz5490 Of course the 50/50 doesn't carry over - that'd be *too* good. The point is that it's a halfway house between the limited and standard banners; it has the weapon-character separation of the former whilst offering more variety than the latter. Not to mention the drop from two to one fate points for weapons, and, indeed, the necessity of the banner itself as more characters are added to the game.
It's undoubtedly better than the standard banner. You don't have to pretend actual improvements to the game, however small, aren't improvements just because of "muh three fates".

Yeah polar star is Childe's signature but Thundering Pulse is better for him in every way. Polar Star is just a stat stick.

There is a supply banner in HI3 that has similar mechanics: features a pool of 3 or 4 S ranks for you to pick from ( they also rotate every few days but you can reset it) for a limited time (usually runs about 2 weeks) and the pool is different each time they run it (which may or may not be once a patch). It's actually not a bad option if you have been saving and waiting ages for a particular unit. Newer players would probably want to skip these types of banners (unless there is a highly desirable unit like Yelan on it) in favor of more recently released units.
The supply banner makes sense in HI3 BECAUSE they have A LOT of crystal sources, in genshin we do not have a constante flow of primogems, and this New banner is realy unsustainable for Genshin level of rewards. BASICLY a Whale banner
This banner is good in Hi3 because Hi3 is extremely f2p friendly with lots of sources to get Crystals from once you level up your captain level. Genshin is not at all f2p friendly without any reliable way of getting even enough Primogems to keep up with the characters. Also the reruns in Hi3 are quite frequent meanwhile genshin takes a year to rerun one character.
"We heard you and we understand. We've made changes that value you the player with another exciting update." - Translation we don't care this banner has no carry over. We want those 3 fates back we mailed out.

She's weak compared to ayaka now because of the very strict team comp of ganyu
@@jason200912 Honestly speaking from having played both quite a bit their damage is about the same. Ayaka's numbers are lower but she hits a lot of times while ganyu has consistent 150k charged shots and she has no restriction on her team comps. Benny Xiangling and Kazu or Zhongli is her best team comp while Ayaka's is Furina Xianyun and Kazu. They only diference is that Ayaka is more fun to play while Ganyu gets boring pretty fast.
@@euthanised4124 you can do about 350k ayaka nukes with the burst or you can do 100k+xiangliang 20k hits every 3 or 4 seconds with ganyu. Maybe I should go test it in current abyss to see who has the better time
ayaka is better if you use a freeze team because yknow her ult is her biggest source of damage and her ult not hitting means you are losing 90% of you dmg. Meanwhile ganyu can be a little more flexible, but for me i use melt cuz ganyu is pretty easy to use just stand there and do charge atk, or if you don't have zhongli you can stand run while charging cuz ganyu doesn't need good aim really just charge shot to the floor and it will still hit enemies.
Overall
Ayaka more powerful burst but is strict to freeze.
Ganyu steady dps but more flexible team.
In my case fun is subjective because it involves preference.
@@mapol8088 tested it out now. Ganyu did the same as ayaka on floor 1. But on floor 2 ayaka won by a lot. The 100k burning arrows is best used on aoe enemies on first half of the abyss.
Also neither team had kazuha so I had to use furina instead for ayaka team which isn't as ideal as kazuha.
If you try to use ganyu on the half 2 bosses it went horribly since there's only enough time to land 2 arrows before the boss disappears with exception of floor 3
Speculative ones I might go for zhongli / kokomi depending on the other 5* characters on the banner and I definitely think I’d consider getting more jade cutters if that was one of the options for weapon side.
Doubt Archons would be there. They are too meta to not have a consistent rerun banners
My fate points feels more opposite and lost 50/50 TRICE bc they gave me Xiao's spear instead of Miko catalyst. My previous weapon ones were Lyney's bow instead of Yelan Bow, and the previous previous horror forbid they gave me Cyno Spear instead of Dehya's Reed Sea! 😭😭
From Inazuma we could have Kazuha, Ayaka, Yoimiya, Kokomi, Itto, Ayato and Yae in the Chronicled Wish Banner.
They will put 3 Permanent Characters anyways, they never said that this Chronicled Banner will be by regions 😅

Chronicled looks great, all I think it desperately needs is to be able to choose 3 rate up 4*s when you choose the 5*
Something pretty much everyone seeems to be overlooking is that out of the example banners they've given for this HALF of the available characters are LIMITED CHARACTERS. Using the example banners if you path a limited character you have a 2/5 chance of loosing your 50/50 to a different limited character. If you pick a standard character you have a 3/5 chance of loosing your 50/50 to a limited character. The fate probably doesn't carry over to balance this out.

I'm still not sure whether this system is good or bad.
Good: Several more reruns per patch, potential to get limited characters when losing 50/50, a way to get long-lost 5-star weapons like Reed Sea and Hunter's Path.
Bad: Fate points reset like the weapon banner, blue fates are still worthless.
???: It's likely that most characters will eventually be removed from normal reruns and only appear in Chronicled.
The fate point reset doesn't *really* matter if you plan ahead and don't throw wishes into it impulsively, but, I mean, gacha games are designed around impulse purchases... so... that's definitely gonna happen to people. If they miraculously decide to remove that "feature," I wouldn't have any real complaints about this.

Its a pretty good banner for me since i want both reed sea AND hunter's path....plus i dont have a lot of std banner weapons so i dont mind getting some
I think the way to find 5* for the future of this banner is to check how much money people spend on them. Least popular ones will be the most probable candidates.

I want to point out that there only needs to be a few standard weapons you'd be okay with losing to for the chronicled wish weapon side to be extremely comparable odds to the weapon event banner. For example, you chart for Beacon, but you'd also be okay with Hunter's Path, Lost Prayers, or Skyward Harp. That's already a 65% chance of getting something you want. Swords like aquila favonia and skyward blade are also just generically good on Bennett for anyone who didn't pull a mist for him. It's not like most players have dozens of 5* weapons and refinements to choose from. That's not bad odds at all considering how many trash weapon banners we've had, either because it's objectively bad (one of the donuts) or useless to you personally. The addition of the manner is clearly a net positive, since it's not taking the place of anything else, so anyone who isn't interested in the featured items can just ignore it anyway, while still being an option for those of us who made the mistake of "not having started playing last time hunter's path ran"
bad thing about this is we should have atleast 180 intertwineds for a character and 180 for weapon or 320 for both saved up everytime the banner changes...worst thing that could happen is if every version there will be a new character on featured banners...
Maybe you don't play other gacha game... In blue archives you need to pull 200 to can get your desire character same as nikje too...

You only need around 150-160 wishes to guarantee a character. Soft pity is at 76 pulls. The odds of you needing 160+ pulls are impossibly low. It's a hundredth of a percent.
It is pretty difficult to manage.. because the pity itself can be brought to the next banner, say you already did 50 spins, next banner you only need 40 spins max to get a guaranteed 5 star.. what's difficult is that the 50/50 can't be taken to the next banner.. meaning if you lose 50/50, you have to get the guaranteed now, or else you go back to 50/50 again next banner.. for example.. you lost 50/50 now, you have guaranteed on the next 5 star.. you did 50 spins and stopped for next banner, next banner your remaining 40 spins will be a 50/50.. so it is good if you want the character you have been waiting for for ages and you want their weapon.. because this weapon banner is way better than the current weapon banner.. and you have enough spins to get a guaranteed 50/50.. otherwise just skip this banner..
The solution: just saving...and all out in the character/weapon you want

You didn’t talk about the 4 stars. With my assumptions, I think you can chart for a 5 star character, build pity and get characters intead of weapons, then switch to a 5 star weapon before u have a fate point (or vice versa) that way u can get more characters while pulling on the weapon banner instead of 4 star weapons
Fair point there,if you don't want garbage 4* weapons but you want 4* cons you can build pity with a 5* character then when you get close to pity you swap to weapons if you let's say want a 5* weapon then if you get it good if not you have a fate point in weapons. . . . . . .That being said i see that as a trap more than anything since you can always get an early 5* and if you do get an early 5* character(fate point) but you wanted to eventually switch to weapons then once you have the fate point you are stuck going for characters instead cuz the fate point does reset even when you switch so it'll be a wasted fate point if you stop pulling or switch.
You will still get 4 stars weapons, even if you choose a 5 star character. That option only locks the 5 stars character/weapons, besides that, is the same as the promotional Banner 😅
The point of this banner is: you can lose 50/50 to a limited 5*, so you are no longer locked to building a standard 5* constellations.
you can actually get limited characters Cons or get a random new ones.
You can build pity on it, but the fate points dont carry over if you lose and don't go all the way.
IMO this is good, but im year 1 player so im avoiding this one with my C6 Jean... will try if there comes a banner with tighnari/dehya/mona as the only standard lose tho. so i can just build my constellations on characters i want.
The problem with this release banner is that it's lacking a real bait, the biggest character here is Eula and sure she's popular but meta wise she ain't. So yeah... They are gaging the interest for the banner first for sure, sure hope people won't roll so they will put at least 2 bait Gacha characters in here.

That's my problem since the start of 4.0 i have nobody to roll until furina, navia , clorinde, and Arlecchino came out and i got them all locked with 100% guaranteed due to the gap between them is enough to always save to 22k primos (im welkin only)
Keqing had been eluding me for years but finally came home from the Standard banner early in 4.4. Otherwise I'd be frothing at the mouth right now waiting for the Liyue Chronicle banner. As it is now, I think I might just go for Tighnari's weapon eventually since I really enjoy playing him. Then again he's already on Harp so there's really no rush.
I agree Ganyu and and Childe are likely to be on the Liyue Chronicle banner with Keqing and Qiqi, but I highly doubt that Zhongli will join them. For one, I think Archons just won't go there since they're too important. And also, I think this will be an occasional banner used by Hoyo to tempt us into spending our Fates during the usual yearly down times (something like X.3, X.5 and X.8 every year). I could be wrong though.
as a sometimes whale, i feel like the weapon side is an absolute win (only one fate point, harder to access weapons, 50% chance vs 35% chance). but for the 5* characters that eventually rotate here that i don't plan to pull normally, or for the few i wouldn't mind passively getting constellations for, the character side will only be a win when the other 5* characters are not mostly ones i have C6 already. i already have all standard except Tighnari and Dehya at C6, and my Eula is C6, Albedo C2, Klee C0. i would hypothetically like Klee C4 for example, but this isn't the ideal setup for me since almost every loss just ends up being five wishes. if they gave a bonus for losing 5050 to a limited character you already have C6 or even standard ones too, since it's already a slightly unique banner, it would possibly give me more incentive
I feel like we have now Monstad version for 4.5, then Liyue version and so on. If that happens I think this banner would feel better.

If people really want the character they have been saving for then i don't think fate points will be a really big deal for them. And you can also get another featured limited character which is really good
So if you just save a bunch is worth pulling there, but if you don't have enough just don't the points won't save
the weapon banner portion is definitely worth it. Because yes while you have higher chances to get 1 of the uprated on normal limited banner (75%), most of the time I only want 1 of the 2. Waiting around for a banner with 2 good weapons (or one where i don't already own 1 of the two) takes forever. Be nice to just get stuff within 160 for my favorite characters.

This patch shows that they do not care about the community, the new banner was leaked months before the drama, so it's not because we sent them feedback that what they're doing is bad. I have sent them over 500 emails since 2020 regarding stuff that could be implemented/improved, stuff that is already in other games from other companies or even QoL stuff that already is in star rail, that could make the game better, and guess what nothing was done, it took them 3 years to put a claim all button at Katherine.

I have like 10 emails with different topics that i keep on sending them every few days, it takes like 2 min. I have reached multiple constellations on the standard banner 5 star characters and still haven't received a Mona. So, this banner is pretty tempting for me as a way to guarantee her now
I wonder when we will get a new five star Sumeru character like at least another Geo, Electro or even Cryo from that region.
The biggest takeaway from this is that Klee, Albedo and Eula are forever gone from regular rotations , which should make the banners better on average while still offering the same value for those who want them.
Yeah, I don't exactly see why so many people think this is bad. It'll just lead to less waiting to get the characters you want, and it's still a 50/50 with a guarantee afterwards same as the limited banners

You need 160 and that's only slightly more than skipping a single version's banner. It is extremely easy and fast to get 160 wishes. And if it weren't for Xianyun people would go crazy for the opportunity to get some Jeans finally.

If we take into account that 13 free wish from lantern rite doesn't happen every version, I think we can say that it would take 2 version or around 3 month of playing everyday

My guess for the next Banner (Assuming its going to be 6 Characters and a liyue Themed one) is: Qiqi and Keqing since the first one has Standard Banner Characters, then Ganyu, Zhongli and Childe and either Yelan or Hutao since even tho they are very popular, its unlikely they will get a new rerun before the next region but we will prb get a new Chronicled Banner before, i dont think they will rerun them both at the same time so it might be that we get one in the chronicles, maybe at the same time we get a filler patch and they want to put a more popular character in the chronicled banner and then later we get a rerun for the one that wasnt featured in the chronicled

it should be said that the chance yes combined is for like character 50/(10% 5x) but it's 2 seperate events so it's 50/50 and 20% 5x and thats the same for every banner
regardless of banner if you don't have 180 wishes you will only feel disappointed for much longer if you failed. compared to when you did save 180 before wishing. i'm a high save f2p guy that skips 2-3 banners.. i tried not saving this game disappoints me more when i didn't save as much
Depending on the next banners and if I win my 50/50 to Chiori than I'll go for Albedo but that's if all 3 things a line together.
The new banner is kinda iffy for me to decide if it's worth it or not.
The banner is pretty great. It's exactly what we have been asking for, for a very long time. You can now pull for specific standard characters and weapons when there was no way to do this before, not to mention other rare limited characters as well. The banner also has the same 150-160 required fates for a guarantee, assuming soft pity is still at 76 pulls. And you can get a limited 5 star if you lose the 50/50. There is no downside to this banner unless you are pulling without a guarantee saved up, which you should never do in the first place. Genshin players are pretty inexperienced and stupid though, so it makes sense people are upset I guess.
After 3 and 1/2 years I'll be able to get Mona
If we can get a new wish or fate(like intertwined/ acquainted fate) especially for the chronicled wish banner then the banner will be more worth it
The chronicle wish is just an alternative. If it's good or bad will depend on the other promotional banners, the chronicle wish rosters and how much you want a character that doesn't appear often.

So, you can now pull for standard banner characters. Using intertwined fates. On worse terms then event banners with new characters (50/50 doesn't carry over). It's evolving, but backwards!

Just by having limited chars in the pool, make it better if you want a char in the pool.
Let's say you want Albedo, you can lose to eula instead of qiqi, for example. Win situation.
I wish they also added the 4 stars in those banners with characters from that region( like gorou, heizou, lynette, yanfei) whom we havent seen in a while, and of course, the honorable mention our petty pretty disney princess Kaveh.
Save up for a guaranteed pull before you wish on this banner. It's up to you whether or not you wish.

It is useful in a way. If you were planning to save for a guaranteed rerun of an older character, you get the benefit of potentially losing the 50:50 to another limited character. It also allows you to do so without affecting the pity you might have been building for an upcoming character (although in effect it will remain roughly the same).
With the weapons, it might be more advantageous than the current weapon banner if a limited weapon you want (or even non-limited) is on it (versus if they were on the usual weapon banner). With the current weapon banner, it's ~100 pulls to have a >50% chance at a specific weapon, while it will be ~80 with this new banner, if my calculation is correct. The worst case goes from 240 pulls to 180 pulls.
The main downside compared to the regular event banners, I assume, will be that there won't be specific rated up 4-stars characters or 4-stars gacha weapons (like xiphos).
I hope they lower the pity ammount, because as it is, it really feels like a huge opportunity cost between old/not so popular units or the brand new/months of saving unit

The hardest decision to make, I been saving for arlecchino and I have c6r1 Eula my goal has always been to c6r5 Eula. This coming right before 4.6 (speculation for arlecchino banner) is making it really hard to not throw some wishes I've saved for 4.6 and instead at this new chronicles banner while hoping for god luck, not knowing when they'll even feature Eula again on any banner.
There will always be something better so it may be better to just save up your wishes.
If you really love Eula and want to R5 her weapon then definetely go for it. Arlechino will be rerunning soon anyway so you don't got much to lose
i think the characters that will be in liyue themed chronicle wish will be ganyu, keqing, qiqi, zhonli, childe and either hutao or yelan (i hope yelan)
Not in a million years. All of the Liuye characters you listed are still broken and meta units. All the Mondstat characters we got for it are really bad ones that barely anyone would pull for. Even Venti who still isn't the greatest unit but still kind of useful isn't on there.

The fact that the fates don't carry over bothers me the most. I also can't go to newvillette's weapon because I don't have 240 wishes. I was hoping they would finally improve the weapon banners a bit (like characters would be ok for me), but I guess that won't happen anymore. I'm already disappointed. I also don't think archons will be included in the banner. Maybe we'll see with 4.6.

For folks like me who save their primogems and never pull unless they can guarantee their desired outcome, the whole "fate point is bad" argument falls apart, and all you have left is a potentially good banner depending on who is featured and what your gameplay goals are. Notably, this is the exact same situation the featured character banners exhibit.
So you would be okay if Mihoyo decided to get rid of carryover guarantees on regular limited character banners and instead used non-transferable fate point system like here?

For Liyue banner, you forgot Keqing and Qiqi.
The Inazuma banner will be the best because the Inazuma five stars are all decent (Yae, Raiden, Ayaka, Ayato, Itto, Kazuha) and all of their weapons are good.
Was very excited to hear this banner because it is very similar to Honkai Impact 3rd's "Firepower Supply" that let players choose 3 weapons and 3 stigmata to get 1 unique equipment from the chosen sets for just 10 pulls.
But alas, it was still 90 pity & 50/50 as well which is a bummer. Yet on the bright side, this is very helpful for new players to get strong characters and weapons that can be easily access on starter areas like Mondstadt for Eula, Albedo, and Klee that could help them catch up with Endgame players and reach AR 55 for more access on Coop.
Honestly, while it is nice we can get access to older characters and their weapons. But I don't think I will be using this Chronicle Banners at all, I barely have enough for new characters. Why would I waste my saving here and missed out on newer stronger character?
It would be nicer tho if we can use the blue Fates here. I have zero expectation on the standard banner so I stop using it a while ago, never got anything good out of it. If we can save up and pin point on Gan Yu or Zhongli, etc. It's definitely better than wasting them on standard banner.

In my opinion the biggest problem is the wording that the banner will be from (TIME to TIME). I think they will do this banner every two patches so 4.5 and next is 4.8.
